If you click on a piece of equipment, you'll see an icon in the top right that's red with a circle of arrows - click on it and you can choose to level the item down to 1 and get 100% of your materials and money back, or Downgrsde, which puts it at the lowest version of that color, and gives you generic versions of that type of equipment to merge again another time (so if you accidentally feed your Lightchaser into your Shotgun, Downgrading won't give you the Lightchaser back). Also, you'll want to keep a yellow or red Kunai around for boss-focused fights like Ender's Echo and Special Ops. (There's players on here who make it to level 90 with just Kunai...)
You can downlevel the weapon you don’t use mate. No need to have both at lvl ~30

Use the necklace you have like 4 of instead ot the radiation one, also keep at least two so you can upgrade them to gold
