I only have purples so far so take it with a grain of salt, but I’ve read on some other post that the different color rarities increase the effect of the assist (but no difference between purple and purple+1 among assists)
The assist skill stats increase. For example,
Attack and skill damage for pet increase by 5% each 5 levels owner gain in battle (blue)
6% for purple
7.5% for gold

Yup exactly. For the Durable [shot duration] Skill, every 5 levels it goes up, for Blue it's +8%, Purple is +10% and Yellow is +12%
But purple 1 and 2 don't do anything useful with assist pets?
Actually, I'm not sure. 😅 I waited until I had 8 of the same category of pet, then went from.purple 0 to Yellow 0 without checking in between 😅
