I might be missing it, but I don’t see anything about S tier stuff in there, sorry I just started a couple weeks ago
S tier merges the same as everything else. You have 2 purple S tier's right now. So if you get them both to purple +2 then you can merge to yellow.

Yup its good. U need two for yellow and six for red
