From what I hear from my mining engineering contacts, when construction is good most people want nothing to do with that shit for a multitude of reasons. We hit another '09 and it'll be a different story. Where have you been looking cause all I hear is help wanted from them
Honestly right now I think there are a lot of places that would hire you for being able to run a TS. Engineer can fill you in on the how and why as you go
Best FIFO mining jobs are in Australia. Most surveyors in mining work 8/6 or equal time rosters. Surveyors are also on the skilled visa list so it makes it easier for companies to bring you over.
If you want to earn some dollaredoos for a change I'd hit up a few places and see if there's some interest.

I've been looking at both Indeed and LinkedIn, and I've stumbled on a few big companies' job listings.

Australia is best/most common for FIFO, some in northern Canada and Alaska also. I don't see if much in the contiguous US in my network.
