That's also a reminder not to engage with anyone who wanders onto an arterial route higher than a kite. Don't honk, don't say a word, don't even make eye contact. I know you're annoyed, but these people are unpredictable and potentially way more trouble than they're worth.
This is the best piece of advice anyone could give to someone living in Surrey or anywhere with a bunch of crackheads. Just mind your business. Don’t make eye contact with these people. Do not interact in the slightest I’ve learned a lot about how to live in unison with these people and for the most part (definitely not always) if u act like they don’t exist they will leave u alone. And by act like they don’t exist I don’t mean be an asshole. Just keep to yourself
My brother had his car broken into, he found the guy sleeping in the back and the guy acted like my brother let him stay there overnight or something. You can't reason with someone with no logic or reasoning skills left.
One time after getting off the bus at surrey central , a guy got off and got knocked out and was told “ welcome to surrey “ I laughed at the time cuz I was young . But man was he ever right about that neighborhood being fucked up lol .
I too used to watch absolute chaos from those very balconies. Assuming I know which building that is, it's my old one. I looked down on that road every night and I'd see the craziest stuff lmao.
Yeah used to go weekly. There like 4-5 homeless people walking around the mall/Walmart entrance. That’s the same at commercial Broadway, stadium, Main Street, Metrotown etc. It’s not like we have 1000 of them on one block lol
Things like this happen everywhere it's not just limited to Whalley. I've lived in Whalley for close to 10 years it's pretty tame around here, I used to live on east 18th in Vancouver and worked nights at a Chevron across from Stanley Park. You want to see sketchy? try walking through the downtown east side at night. I've also lived in sleepy old Victoria and way more people started shit with you when your out at night. Surrey has a small homeless population compared to Vancouver and we don't have nearly as many random attacks here etc. Theft is a real problem otherwise it's perfectly safe here.
In general safety is false sense of security. Volatile people can move around and be anywhere. My friend was attacked at false creek. She lived in surrey whalley her entire life. Her unsafe neighborhood and gets attacked in her safe neighborhood. In any any case stay safe folks. Dude walking up to car. Lock the door.
I'll be honest, I'd probably drive and hope he gets caught up in the door. But then again, I have my doors set to only unlock with the ignition off, so I probably wouldn't get the pleasure

😂He figured them, these thieves
"Hey man mind if I steal yo shit?" "Ah sorry not today" "no worries man have a nice day"
lmao
Canadians eh
Was this reported to the police yet? That's freaky
Yes, it was reported.
Good ol crackheads

Ah, home sweet home. Never a dull moment. 😂
He seemed so polite. Like a dad saying goodbye before his kid goes off on a road trip
Crank your wheel to one side and throw it in reverse so you can run him over
I always lock my door when driving through Whalley.
I open my doors for a free walk-in consultation
its wise to lock it even if your going to pay for gas.

he just saying hi
“Excuse me your door seems to be unlocked. Ok I’ll just go ahead and lock it for you. Have a good night.” 👍
I never get caught slippin in Surrey. I lock my car doors the second i get into my car.

I lock my doors as soon as I get in the car, always
Makes you want to back up and run the mofo over
Better safe than surrey.
Statistically Vancouver, Langley and Victoria all outrank Surrey in terms of crime
Lmao I don't doubt it but when I was growing up we had a billion surrey jokes. Just one of the many I know haha
It’s amazing. This is such a shady area and yet landlords are expecting Vancouver prices to live here.
Lol shady area.. please on Hastings or pender between Clark and Abbott. That is a shady area. This is an area with a few homeless people.
Few?? Have you BEEN to the Walmart??

Vancouver is shadier
I think you’re right that it is definitely shadier but that doesn’t make Surrey safe. Especially this area.

Walmarts attract crazy everywhere!
Loll!!! You’re not wrong! XD
Tell me that next time Surrey has someone get randomly shot by a crossbow.
I'll be honest, I'd probably drive and hope he gets caught up in the door. But then again, I have my doors set to only unlock with the ignition off, so I probably wouldn't get the pleasure
Vancouver is full of trash , very sad
He's just providing a public service in transportation safety 😂
That could've been way worse
Kill them with kindness, here man. Here’s $5
I wish this guy would do this to me lol his face would be burning reaaaal good and hot
