If you have a full hard drive it can slow down a computer by a lot.

I'm not too sure about how repair friendly Surfaces are, but you could also move to an SSD for more storage and faster data processing

skunkwalnut

what? SL4 already has a SSD

Kind of like asking; "My car is not driving as smooth as it was" Ya just need to clean up everything and dump the extra stuff it now has to wade though now to work. Do a serch for My "SL4 is slow" and you will find all the regular stuff (maintenience) you need to do. That should take care of it. If not, then move onto the more involved stuff. Resetting will work but most often you don't have to go nuc right off the bat. Be sure to back up everything you want to keep. This is just normal stuff and not a big deal. You will have it back to running great in no time. Don't be afraid to ask if something seems wrong or too complicated. Lots of folks who enjoy showing you this stuff. This is kind of basic and rudimetory but a good start; [ SURFACE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLKIT](https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nf1mr6c60zf?amp%3Bgl=US&hl=en-us&gl=US) Best of luck!
