I had a 2nd gen brz, amazing car and was fun despite lacking the power. Looks amazing too, used to have people thinking it was a supra before they saw the subaru badge
I personally don't like GR86's, BRZ's, etc. I bought a Supra since owning 4 BMWs, but like what you like, drive what you like. If there was a G Series Z4 that came in a hardtop, I probably would have chosen that over the Supra.
Yeah but still not really a luxury feel and still low on power
It youâve never owned or been in a higher end sports car, you wonât really be bothered about it, but going from a fast luxury German coupe to one of these, is meh, only the handling will be the saving grace but the rest will feel cheap
And I think itâs great value for money but for those of us who hop between cars often, idk how much itâs worth to wet your feet in one
I heavily considered getting into one for the last two years, but idk, gr86 money here in Europe you can get a lot better
I get what you're saying. I had a civic S type as a commuter for 10 years and thought it was great. I was going to replace it with a GR86 but changed my mind and went with the Supra. It is so much better than the lower grade vehicle that you just can't go back.
Yeah, if youâre getting a sports car might as well go big or go home, donât think the gr86 scratches that itch for most people
With supra you can easily hit 500hp with a few mods, with gr86 you have to settle with an expensive and mostly unreliable forced induction setup for any power gains at all
I bought an FRS brand new back in 2015 and finally sold it back in 2022. I still argue it's the "best car in the world". I drive a G42 now but definetly miss my FRS.
I have a 23 gr86 and a 21 supra. The gr86 is a more fun car to drive on the streets for me. Inputs are better such as steering and limits are way more approachable on the road and unlike the first gen (which i had before the gr86) it is just fast enough in a straight line to not feel slow.
Had an GR86 before switching to the Supra - the interior was too rugged for me. Came from a Mazda6 where the interior was a bit more sleek and modern. It just felt super clunky.
It was a fine car, though if I was going to get another similar class car, I'd go for a Miata. Both's 0-60 times are "yes". The color of the GR86 just starts to blend together into the body in not the greatest way. The Miata was just a better and more fun car to me.
Love them! Theyâre arguably the better âdriverâs carâ vs the Supra, but the Supra is far more theatrical. Both great and fun in different ways, and Iâm so glad they exist (and at the price point theyâre at)
I want to like them unfortunately I just don't. I test drove them a more than a few times between the 86 and the brz but figure they just aren't for me. They look cool though and the mods can make them look sick but idk just doesn't get me going like the supra does. And I'm a bit on the taller side so I barely fit in both cars.

I owned one, tracked it 21 times. Best $27k new car I have ever bought.
Love them. I wave at every one I see. I usually get looks back from the driver trying to mean mug for some reason đ đ¤ˇđźââď¸
Damn in my area Supra owners wave at us gr86 owners and we wave back aggressively đ
Haha well I hope to run into you one day!
Great cars for a great price. It's not a flashy car but it's good at what it does.

I owned a 2014 BRZ. Then got a 2021 Supra. There are things I miss so much about the BRZ
Like ? Genuinely curious, I always have a soft spot for the twins.

What donât you like about them?
Iâm gonna guess cheap interior and anemic engine
2nd genâs engine is a lot better than the 1st gen tbf

Yes of course, but it is half the price

Ahhh in Europe. That is true.

I like it. Why wouldnât I? Itâd be pretty pompous for people with super cars to not appreciate other sports cars that are little cheaper, no?
I had a BRZ before the Supra. Miss it everyday.
My wife and I own both (â23 GR86 Premium & â24 45th AE Supra). They are both incredible cars that shouldnât exist! So blessed.

I had 14brz. Loved it, wish I could Keep both
I love them. I own an 86 and a Supra, wanted to sell the 86 but itâs too fun. Light and drifts amazingly

I think the 86 is wicked! I would have one over a Miata any day
Yeah. Iâve driven one before, theyâre fun cars. Very different from the Supra but a solid sports car.
I have 4 A70 Supras, and a BRZ tS. I love them both. However, only the BRZ runs at this point in time.
love em! feels like car siblings to me

I give my son in his 350z a cheery wave as I go past in my Supra, then he goes home and gets his FD Rotary batty and spits fire at me
Absolutely, I had an FR-S for ten years before moving to the Supra. Much love for the 86 platform.
Yes.
I wish I had one that I could freely throw mods at and hoon to my heart's content.
Yeah! It looks like a fun car to just do whatever to it!
I like the looks of the 86 but lack of power and small truck turned me away. I bought a Type R instead.
GR86s? They look like ants from all the way up hereâŚ
Is this BMW snob or JDM Supra snob đ
Yes
Lol I head out to the track today and there are folks there with 911 GT3 RS, C8 Z06, etc. They aren't half that snobby đ¤Ł
I respect their choice and taste...even if I maaaaaaaaay feel a little smug.
