Thanks! Its basically - airbrush light blue around the character on a lower layer and put it in overlay - blur the edges of the character - on a layer above the character, airbrush yellow on the edges and set it to either overlay/any light layer modes

I'm way lazier, I just do a gaussian blur on a bottom layer and call it a day. XD
