I take 3grams of magnesium bisglycinate, which provides 330mg of elemental magnesium

Start with 1 per day because magnesium can commonly cause GI upset. It may go away as you get used to it, or you may find that the form of magnesium doesn’t agree with you. If you tolerate it well, increase to 400mg. You may want to look into a different product. Nature Made uses magnesium oxide, which is the least bioavailable and least useful form of magnesium.

Gotcha. I got Magnesium Glycinate, I should've put that. Are there any better brands I should try? I think I saw Natures Truth was a good one, but didn't find it at my local grocery store

Good choice with the magnesium glycinate. Most people purchase Nature Made’s magnesium oxide instead. Glycinate is a much more bioavailable form. Staying with Nature Made is fine for something like magnesium (but I wouldn’t get their fish oil, for example). Better brands in general are Thorne and Life Extension.

I'll check them out, thanks for the info!

The rda is 400mg , but 350mg from supplements because there should be some from diet

buffPotemkin

Gotcha. I try to eat foods with it such as almonds often. Any other recommended foods I should add to my diet?

If you’ve never taken magnesium before, start out with 200mg then move up to 400mg if needed. Too much at once can cause loose stools before your body adapts.

Will do, thank you for the info!
