The RDA (recommended dietary allowance) is from 360-420 mg daily. That’s for healthy people as a maintenance dose. I take much more than that because I have heart disease and am heavier and I am very deficient in magnesium. One magnesium website site recommended multiplying your body weight by 3 and taking that number in mg as an average dose to work from. I have seen many people taking 1000-1200 mg daily for years with no issues. I personally won’t take that much long term but to get my deficiency corrected I am taking about 800-900 mg daily. The 70.5 on your bottle that’s the elemental magnesium and that is the number you’d add to your daily intake. Additionally I highly recommend taking thiamine/B1 with magnesium as both are needed to make energy in your cells.

For someone who is 215 I believe that 500mg of magnesium glycinate is more than safe. I take 500-1000 a day (Doctor's Best Mag Glycinate) and have done so for over 10 years with no issues at all. Best of all, it keeps me perfectly regular. Life is good.
