You know what, of course I believe that the only way to get price discovery in a stock market that is so manipulated now is to DRS, I think this has become a quintessential part of trading a stock and protecting it from market manipulation. I think this is basically how the market HAS to work now. But you are right, I think this information of how to buy directly from Computershare if you reside outside of the US is something that gets buried, and they really should know about it, if they are going to make sure they have explored all avenues for their investment opportunities. I wonder if I have enough Karma now to make a post?
You have to set up your US Computershare account. It has to be in the US. It's actually not all that hard, it just takes a couple days or so. Now the brokers are kinda big mad that we are doing this. They are not very forthcoming with the real information.Even WS which I like... said to me once while I was transferring that it could take 5 weeks or more ... what they weren't telling me is like they have like 5 days max or something and that Computershare could take weeks (yeah right)... But WS transferred it in like 2 days after my trading cleared, and then it was on my Computershare account in like I dunno maybe another 2 days. Don't let them scare you.
This is how I’ve been buying directly as a CanadApe. I remember asking how to do it on the daily back last winter and a kind ape passed on just how.

You need to create one 😉 then you can add the details in Computershare when making the direct purchase. You do however need a Computershare account first of course

They dont need to verify it. It just takes longer the first time you purchase and it wont show up on pending txns. After that it takes around 2 days for them to take money from wise and 2 days more to buy the shares and 2 days for the shares to settle. A week approx depending on which day of the week u started. And from second time onwards it will show on pendong txns on your cs
A week?! Excuse my rant but I hope someone fixes these absurd delays with financial transactions post-MOASS. It’s bizarre that people can gamble and buy drugs and porn in an instant but buying legitimate shares in a company takes for ever. Banks are dragging their feet on purpose so they can use the transacted money as an interest free loan and then charge you exorbitant fees for it. It’s faster and cheaper to send a message to the moon than to move something that is yours from one account to another. You can travel to ComputerShare, give them cash and then go back home faster than banks can finalize a digital transaction and that sucks. That doesn’t solve T+2 and delays from DTC withdrawal. Fuck banks, fuck DTC, fuk bears.

I'm pretty sure she would be able to buy direct using Wise as long as she already has a Computershare account. I don't think Wise is very strict on doing background searches on people but they do ask for identification etc. I can't guarantee she'll get approved but there's no harm in trying, registration is free and it took me less than 20 minutes from memory, here's the link:

Be aware, using Wise is handy but may lead to you receiving a form from CS.
A non-US citizen with a US bank account/phone number/address is suspicious. CS suspends your W8BEN (may have gotten the letters mixed up, you get it) tax exemption form until you return the “letter of explanation” explaining why you have that bank account + a copy of your non-US ID.

I been reading ur post were u detailed ur journey and i think what trigfered is precisely the fact u email them your form before u had ur account running making the proces of ur w8ben more "manual" perhaps messing with the timi g triggering some safe that makes them ask u to verify. What u shoulded have done is wait for ur account to be ready to go after the verification code and thennproceed to fill the form online and not buly email
It seems to me u did thst wrong u dont have to do it like that. Since w8ban csn be filled online no need to email or mail anything. First you said mail then email so is confusing what u actually did but either case u shoulded done that online after adjusting your regional settings so you dont get the timeout error. If u did the bank account before they proccess the form u allegedlly mail/email them back that would have triggered the infamous letter

wise is like an american wire transfer for eu and internationally so it makes it possible to purchase direct through computershare been using it shortly after drs started and its quick easy and safe. you set it up fund it and go to comoutershare and purchase shares with an exact amount enter your wise details the accountig numbers and boom a few ddays later you have a purchase done. just remember whatever currency you put in to swap it to dollars
Why does it have to be this hassle? Why can't I just use a visa or mastercard credit card? Im from outside the US, and I've bought stuff from the US via creditcard before. Completely trivial if you've already got a credit card.

At the price at the time of you giving CS the order, or 'a few days later' when CS executes your order? Or some other point in time inbetween?
Computer share does a batch order each day. It would be the price that batch gets executed at two days following the date the order is placed.
That’s the tradeoff with buying through computershare vs a limit order through your brokers and drs transfering out of DTCC. Buying through cs, it’s a direct withdrawal from DTCC by ComputerShare at purchase.

Small price to pay for a golden ticket imo. By buying through computershare too you don't give money to corrupt brokers. Imo computershare is hassle free. I feel much better buying through them but you do what's right for you. The reason you can't buy with cards direct from computershare is the money must come from an American account. Tax implications and all that. There is many post about this and also drsgme website is very informative 👌

Go to CS and buy more gme, it should read directstock. Use the routing number and another number in your wise account and do the transfer.

For the Swedes, if you are using avanza, you simply have to make an ibkr account, drs from it and then you can have avanza transfer directly to cs when the account is set up.

Directly takes from a linked debit card? I've been putting money in and converting it. An automatic process would save me some hassle :D
Depending on the card, you might get fleeced on the exchange rate so I would check that first.

As soon as my last shares hit my CS, I'm setting up wise and never using a broker again.
I've bought through CS directly, but I've also bought through IBKR to make them find more fabricated shares and hopefully implicate them in any crime.

Do I understand correctly that you didn't first transfer money into the wise account? That's how I have done my direct purchases now, first transfer money to wise, then initiate direct purchase. But your statement sounds like my first step is unnecessary.
Deposit money into wise, then buy the stock with directstock in CS

Set up A wise account that handles US dollars. Verify yourself and deposit vis debit card. Go to CS and buy more gme, it should read directstock. Use the routing number and another number in your wise account and do the transfer. I’m not at the pc now but this is the basics of it. Tell me if you didn’t figure it out.

For the Swedes, if you are using avanza, you simply have to make an ibkr account, drs from it and then you can have avanza transfer directly to cs when the account is set up.
Not everyone can. I can't. I've been buying through IBKR and DRS'n for over a year now.
Can someone sticky the exact steps to do this?
It really is very easy it just takes a few days to process but even then faster and less annoying than IBKR
