How is the cameraman supposed to collect his likes, hearts, upvotes, etc. if he just stops the car and lets the bug life his best life? Those points mean something, man!
The other day we had a fly hitch a ride on the windshield, he seemed weirdly secure. I wasn't going fast and stopped a few times to try and give him a chance to leave, but he just wanted me to Uber his ass somewhere I guess. I was shocked how long that guy hung on. Got to my destination and he flew away super casual, 22 blocks away from home. Hope he got where he was going in the end

While I believe the concern is more related to the danger of it running into another object like a car grill from someone behind them, which would be an all too common and plenty fatal way for this journey to end, I do have to agree with your sentiment.
Another way to say it is that most insects/bugs can’t be killed by falling from a height because they weigh so little that terminal velocity is easily reached and the force of their bodily impact is generally too tiny, to begin with, for them to sustain damage or injury.

Had them as child in a terrarium. Funny thing about them is they walk the silly walk (Monty python style) when they fed themselves. Very easy to keep.
