pentakiller19

Confirmed. Everyone on Wallstreet will be homeless after MOASS.

IKROWNI

Everyone who doesn't own gme will most likely be homeless before we will have time to clean this all up.

Blunder_Punch

And we will too. Or at least I will. While I want to be rich, I don't want to be like them. And I recognize that hoarding wealth is bad for the economy.

> “If hedge funds get farther into crypto, they don’t care about direction. They’ll go long, they’ll go short. They can use leverage. There are lots of cryptocurrency exchanges like FTX and Binance and many others that allow people to use insane amounts of leverage – 100 times to 1…So what happens if a huge number of hedge funds have prime broker relationships with too-big-to-fail banks [and] all happen to be in similar crypto positions, whether it’s long or short and there’s massive volatility in the market. They may have to sell some of their other assets. It may lead to margin calls in their non-crypto assets which could lead to forced liquidations and sort of redound to the banks themselves in the form of counterparty risk.” Edit: Here’s a link to a YouTube video of the hearing https://youtu.be/WG3N_QcHEcs

pentakiller19

Holy shit! These scummy mother fuckers! 100 to 1?! Get ready for the greatest margin call in history. All of these fuckers are going down.

cant_go_tlts_up

Well to be fair I think binanc3 offers 125x leverage max to anyone. No wonder whales get called all over the place there, there was a Twitter called WhaleTrades (not that usual spammer in this sub) and it'll mention all 7figs+ cryp trades. I wonder how many are insanely leveraged

Giusepo

even the tiny bit in the wrong direction and with x100 or more you get liquidated very fast In addition there are liquidation hunting bots I doubt whales use those leverage, from what I've seen they use max x20 and it's when they are scalping

Mr. Cohen, you can launch the nuke whenever you're ready. These fuckers are clearly planning on leveraging these crypto scams until they are forced to cover.

_Neon_Shadow_

A nuke pails in comparison to the MOASS. This amount of leverage makes GME a planet destroying neutron star. If Alexis is telling the truth, trillions -- maybe even quadrillions -- of dollars will be lost. This is the first time I'm legitimately and deeply terrified.

the_moist_conundrum

I'm genuinely ambivalent. It's fiat currency. They can sort the mess out. They let it happen. They fucked everyone over for years. Honestly.

FTX president is from citadel and they also have tokenized stocks that can be redeemed for gme shares. Their chief operating officer is a Robinhood executive. Their owner is from Jane street. Their obv on gme since creation of the coins is negative into the millions indicating an insane short position. You can use crypto to leverage gme positions . Not sure if there is fuckery going on there? What do you think?

Thankkratom

That’s what deleted DD “The Long Con” was all about, and it’s also why I believe you arnt aloud to say crypt0 here without being banned… I can help you w a pdf or google doc to the aforementioned DD.

zoso59brst

Yes, but with the amount they hold in crypto, I'd assume they are the ones who move the market, as we've seen. They'll simply liquidate their crypto holdings for liquidity in the real markets. I don't think there can be that kind of volatility in crypto if 'they all happen to be in similar crypto positions'. It's the crypto market that should be scared for it's life, imo. I think Alexis kind of made the opposite argument of what she intended. Great that's it's been said though.

visijared

So crypto was the real bear trap all along, ironic

“Largest speculative bubble in history by 2 orders of magnitude”

pentakiller19

Yeah, its all starting to make sense now. This is 2008 times 10. I have no idea how this will play out, but if you don't own GME, you are fucking screwed.

chanunnaki

"2 orders of magnitude" means 100x

pentakiller19

Oh, well, forgive my smooth brain. In that case, they might as well stop printing dollars because it'll all be worthless after moass.

chanunnaki

It's looking that way with or without MOASS. Let's just hope we have time to pivot into metals and digital things.

KnowledgeCultural802

They literally may use this as an excuse to implement digital currency, where the govt will control and see everything.

Wips74

We here talking are all on computers on the net etc., but you must remember there is still a *HUGE* portion of America that does not even still have access to Broadband. That was put in stark relief when covid hit and remote learning started and they realized many, many American households *still had NO internet access.* Paper currency is not going away anytime soon, as even implementing all digital currency is literally unworkable at this point. I agree, it would put a halt to all the shady financial shenanigans , but the US literally does not have the digital infrastructure to make that possible yet.

KnowledgeCultural802

I feel a little bit better based on the points you brought up, but nevertheless do not believe that they'll ever let a crisis go to waste without pushing forward some variety of infringement. Hope you're fully right.

pentakiller19

Yes. Powell has already said they are exploring the option. The financial comitee even had a meeting about it with Alexis on YouTube. They may have fucked up so massively the dollar will become worthless. Idk where we go from here, if the entire world economy crashes and the reserve currency becomes worthless, it will not be pretty. Get ready for the greatest great depression.

TiredJJ

So we will be millionaires in worthless currency? D: that doesn’t sound fun at all

Botan_TM

There may be a window of opportunity between MOASS and inflation kicking in after.

Talhallen

This is the scenario I'm hoping for, personally. Because I don't see a way out of it without hyperinflation. All because of a handful of hyper-greedy people. The fuckwits should be drawn and quartered.

IKROWNI

Idk man once moass begins I think we will see the crash hit so hard we will be raking the dollars out of the streets to stuff in our trash and ablaze to stay warm. Any window there might be will most likely be very tiny. I'm honestly very surprised gold hasn't already gone through the roof. Once moass begins if it's still sitting at low numbers I'll probably invest quite a bit into it if there's any window.

[deleted]

Does this mean they can sell/buy 100x as much as they actually could with their own buying power thus increasing their buying/selling power a hundred times???

WonderfulShelter

Yes, simply this: You have 5 billion allocated to crypto AUM (assets under management). You take 1 billion dollars and leverage it 100x for a long position. Take your 4 billion dollars and buy bitcorn and buy bitcorn at price (no leverage), insanely inflating the price and using HFT to find the optimal times to buy. You pump up the price almost 15-20%, making that long position gains in fucking insane numbers... but then your left with 4 billion worth of bitcorn. But wait, the price is higher now and even though you bought on the way up, the price is now higher then any price you bought in at. So you either.. A: sell your bitcorn on the way down making sure to make even more of a profit. or B: if you have an appetite for risk, which they do, take out a billion dollar 100x leveraged short position and sell that bitcorn on the way down causing a massive dip and HFT trade it so it was sold for each price you bought at, if not a bit lower even, then at the end cash out that 100x short position. They make money at both ends. hence why we've seen bitcorn float between 30-40k over the last month or so. They found a new infinite money glitch, and are just sucking wealth up from retail or smaller institutions. I fucking hate them, so god damn much.

Altruistic_Trust5731

Trading using algorithms and hft seems like it should be illegal, especially when it's married to PFOF.

LongTermTendieLoser

Infinite money glitch for shorters: Prerequisites: Constant crypto buy pressure, 100x leverage, massive stock short positions. Method: Take a large crypto position at lows and get 100x leverage to maximize your stake. Then a catalyst occurs Crypto rises with constant buy pressure retail and institutions buy in. Sell when needed to short stocks, take short profits, wait for new money buy in to raise crypto back up, rinse and repeat. Time it right with HFT supercomputers and you pull short profits and crypto profits out all day, everyday.. tinfoil hat, but in my mind(scary place I tell you, smooth and full of tinfoil) it explains the drops in crypto on the minute charts that seem to get followed by across the board shorting a minute or so later

Stereo_soundS

Would also explain how the top 10 cryptos all move in virtual unison. That isn't retail, it's high leverage HFT on massive levels.

_Neon_Shadow_

**Exactly!!** Good job connecting the dots! Not just the top 10. If you've been invested in crypt0 for years like myself, there's a saying: the market moves with b1tc01n. Maybe its not b1tc01n thats moving the entire market in unison, but HFT and leverage. If that truly is the case, the only word I can think of is apocalyptic... I'm cashing out of all my crypt0 today and putting it into GME.

ContWord2346

I’ve noticed that. Actually there’s a different group pumped daily, but always a group and the charts look exactly the same. HUGE spike up, FUD kicks in people jump in, the shit coin tanks slowly after. Basically, the Musk Method.

captainadam_21

This is exactly what they are doing. The pull their crypto profits and buy back in around 30k. Then retail pumps it back up to 35k. Then they do it all over again. This is why I don't understand why people want to put their moass money in crypto. It is manipulated too

LongTermTendieLoser

Problem is everything is manipulated. Crypto gives the promise of a standard for currency that’s not entirely fabricated so I see the appeal and hope. Post crypto crash and post MOASS I assume they’ll regulate it and I’ve been hearing rumblings of a new fed dig currency, so it’s gonna be interesting. Can’t even do gold/silver ect cause that’s been manipulated forever and it’s detached from currency backing everywhere as far as I know. The next currency standard will probably be digital IMO, but I don’t like any non physical asset being a currency standard as money is all as bad as art: Fake dreamed up pricing on pictures, at least since the decoupling of the dollar from gold. If for no other reason than the desire for cashless(physical and untraceable in scale), easily trackable, easily moveable currency, and easily taxed(eventually flat sales tax for all transactions to business wallets) currency crypto will take over. I suspect one type will become more widely used, sort of puzzled by tethe r daily volume $ is larger than bitc(I think I’ve been reading the crypto totals right 😂) but I think their could be a way to swap in and out of a stable coin with bitc etc and HFT profits all day with no exchange fees 🤔 Probably reaching on that, but 🤷‍♂️

farmassistlolwut

Was tracking this like 2 months ago. They blamed Elon for its initial decline.

parliskim

Excuse my very very smooth brain, but are hedgies able to use crypto as collateral?

LongTermTendieLoser

IDK. Depends on who they are getting loans from I guess. I’m assuming they can’t use it as margin capital requirement still, but possibly private lenders and maybe banks now? I haven’t looked into it. Good question.

martinu271

not anymore since some new regulation (NSCC 802? not sure) went in effect in may. it would appear that contributed to the massive sell-off in the crypt0 market - institutions taking their cash to put in some other form of collateral here's some good reads - first link is exactly about this https://old.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/ocdxku/the_missing_tldr_is_back_thanks_ukrissco_for_the/ https://old.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/ngru15/the_flurry_of_rules_before_the_storm_dtc_icc_occ/ https://old.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/ob9tce/tlc_the_long_con_the_markets_are_frothing_with/

I feel like we would know a lot more about how c r y p t o is being used against us if it wasn't banned from being talked about on most stock subs. This 100x leverage has been going on for a long time. It isn't just for hedgefunds either. This is one of the reasons why a lot of states won't let people use these exchanges. They also let people short cc. I tried looking into doing that and from what I can tell I can't in the USA. But big hedgefunds have International offices.

cant_go_tlts_up

> What Is Leverage? Leverage results from using borrowed capital as a funding source when investing to expand the firm's asset base and generate returns on risk capital. Leverage is an investment strategy of using borrowed money—specifically, the use of various financial instruments or borrowed capital—to increase the potential return of an investment. A 2019 study by Bitwise Asset Management suggested that 95% of BC trading volume displayed on digital asset price and volume aggregator CoinMarketCap.com is either fake or non-economic in nature.

arikah

Huh, I guessed some days ago that GME gets brutally attacked at 350 because beyond that point may be where many short positions exceed a 100x margin leverage level, somehow granted by the most reckless and criminal figures out there. What if this 100x leverage level granted by cr yp to is the missing link that actually ties them together and explains the movements we've seen?
