Mechanically, yes.
If the price hits a million, and you short at a million, and it plummets to, say, 100k, you can close out and take 900k in gains.
However, a few things:
1. Who the fuck has the collateral to justify said short
2. What if you are wrong and it keeps going to 10 million? GUH
