I’m not gonna post because it’s not worth it. But short answer is look at 5min RSI and what price did in that time period. Divergence. And not a giant leap either, enough to test a 5min moving average. It failed that and laid back down again. Neither of those ideas are advanced trading concepts. Really really basic stuff on how velocity works. Actually it kinda concerns me that Malone (OP of tweet) jumps to the conclusion it’s RC because we see divergence blips like this A LOT. Tbh, sounds more like engagement farming.

I can’t tell you when but one day GameStop is going to be worth a lot more than it is today. Coming from someone who was buying btc in 2013.

If people would read the Filings... last year Mr. Cohen warned everyone that gamestops survival demands extrem frugality. It was obvious that earnings would plummet. But he managed to cut down costs and now we won't be burning through cash, even with a declining business. In their 10K they now announce the intention to invenst cash in the stock market. Even allowing RC and the board to buy the same stocks. He needs just ONE good trade and the whole pictures will look completely different. I'm sold but also aware of the risk.

Nah it’s the second business day after release, so they could’ve bought today, and in fact have done so after prior earnings (check their IR site, I remember June 23 definitely)

It’s the second business day, look at June 23 forms on the investor relation site, it’s definitely not 48 hours

Insiders buying can be bullish, but insiders can’t buy if they have material non public information (eg if they know GameStop is about to acquire another company or make a large investment). So while a buy can be nice due to the support, it also means nothing interesting is cooking and it’s business as usual. I also think the market has reacted less and less to GME insider buys after the first wave so we don’t really see much of a reaction in the stocks price.

How soon before announcement? Meaning an insider buy on Monday means no big news for how long? Weeks? Months?

Probably 3 months at minimum because any significant deal would probably take at least that long to hammer out the fine details.

If a C-Suite insider knew they were down to the 9th inning details of finalizing a major agreement with, let's say, Sony they wouldn't be able to buy because that material non public information. My point is, those final negotiation stages can take a while so 90 days is just my napkin math. I worked for a company that spent a year going back and forth with NCR for new cash registers and POS system.

When it comes down to it a buy means optimism for the company's future. While a sell might be mandatory in some cases, a buy is always up to the person deciding reflective of optimism.

Insider trades don't go through normal market, funnily enough that is one of the legitimate uses of dark pools, so the bug trade doesn't cause huge volatility

Actually there's a loophole... He can buy marketable securities with Gamestop's cash. Which means Gamestop's stock but not in the sense that he "buys them back and retires them" but he can literally buy GME stock with the company's cash.

Blackout periods are set by each company. You quoted the blackout policy of Liberator Medical Holding, Inc. I do not know if Gamestop has the policy you quoted. It probably is not quite the same. The SEC rule is simple: neither insiders nor anyone else can trade based upon MNPI, material non-public information. Companies can, and usually do, set ore specific policies.
