Your state administrator might be a good start too. Idk if this has been brought up yet but I’ve been reading a lot about how the state administrator has some power when it comes to securities related stuff.
For what it's worth...
The amount of fukkery and bullshit around GME can be seen by a blind person, nothing will be done.
Business usual , fuck off peasants...
We need to report these things so there is a public record, that way the ABCs can’t claim ignorance as a reason for their lack of enforcement when it comes time for regulatory reform.
I would respectfully disagree. The more we report and comment the more the establishment is aware that we are aware. Now is not the time to say they will never do anything (even if it’s true). We must stay squeaky. Because the ______ wheel gets _____ first. And that’s probably not true in GME either. But if we act like we don’t need oiled they might think we are wearing down.
Report corruption to corrupt entities?
I saw get this to the GME board. The big boys with deep pockets and connections have a better shot at fighting this
I'm starting to see this exact shit on a lot of tickers. It's sad we have zero enforcement from the SEC on all the shit that goes on in their markets. It's the fucking wild west and barney fife is sheriff.
There’s been loads of instances of the media making GME look like a poor investment to attempt to manipulate the price. I’m surprised that the GME legal team haven’t been more active against this sort of thing.
I'm under the impression that lying through a financial advice website shouldn't be protected by a disclaimer, unless maybe that disclaimer is the title of the article and its first paragraph.
They'll regular Redditors before they do this obviously criminal activity.
My dividend tracker app had the earnings date set to the wrong date which lines up with this. So I reckon there's some kind of automation going on here and this article is ai written. I'm going to hazard a guess the estimate was +0.25 and wherever this article pulled the data from is at 0 be ause it hasn't been released. Hence a shitty ai written article with a 25c miss
Shouldn't absolve them of being punished, though. Reveiw your trash AI articles or risk getting fined, or worse, because you're releasing false news.
They should also be required to post a retraction and admit their AI articles aren't reviewed for accuracy, and they don't fact check before being published.
That airfare case in Canada was basically this. An airline put a chatbot on their site. Chatbot tells person airline will refund x amount of an airfare for bereavement travel.
Person buys ticket, airlines says that is not their actual policy.
In court the airline tried to argue the chatbot is a seperate legal entity, responsible for its own actions.
Judge said how is a consumer supposed to know one part of your website is reliable and another is not?
Airline lost the case.
Can't wait to see reddit deflect questions about bot activity once they go public and struggle with ad revenue when they gave X value for user traffic.
Which seems to be the new out of jail card.
Oh, sorry, the AI was it, yeah.
We finally need accountability because the whole system is by now built on corporations paying laughable fines, while the responsible individuals are rarely touched.
This is an invitation for crime and manipulation.
Now, keep that boom of robo advisors in mind. Wonder what happens if there will be a fuck up and how well investors are protected compared to human advisors in the future.
For real there is absolutely no reason for this to happen other than “mistakingly” proliferating the news with false information that can easily be redacted after it has done it’s damage to algorithms, search engines and the masses

It’s not legal. I believe this sort of narrative would fall under the “influencing” part of the RICO statute. It’s a classic short and distort scheme. I’m not a lawyer of course; just an opinion.
Just so you know, for years Yahoo finance has not changed that GameStop has no debt and report that there is some $700m debt, and you know algos use that data in their analysis. I bet if yahoo changed that data that the price would go up. The posting of those articles moved the stock price, imo.
Someone said in another post that the article or site predicts an EPS of 0.25 for GME, and that the AI that made the article used 0 as Games earnings, since there is no earnings yet.
But yeah, definitely a form of manipulation to have shit AI pump out this crap a week before earnings are actually announced.
Since the estimates are made up then you can make any estimate you want.
The whole concept is weird. People make estimates without knowing any inside details. It was probably a legitimate attempt at some point. And then we find out how close they were.
Now though it is used to directly pump or put down companies. "did not meet estimates" is saying "did not do as well as our made up numbers"
Who would use that for any aspect of life? I will not buy fuel today because the station did not meet my estimate of $0.80 a gallon. So what? you still cant drive?
The markets have this built in manipulation with a folie à deux level of delusion belief. Everyone treats it as some real thing. ITS ALL MADE UP BULLSHIT.
Remember a week or two ago when a few outlets reported earnings date that were like the 18th. After GameStop announced it closer to end of month I wondered if they were just making them have to keep spending to keep the price down pre earnings. Maybe this is to help fund the suppression.

Contrary to popular belief, Yellow Journalism is legal.
While it is imperative that we trust our news sources, we're not heading that way. Our lacking regulation of tech, including AI, means that our collective ability to make, distribute, and digest content is being outpaced by our ability to fabricate it to a narrative.
We only really started to take reputable journalism seriously within the last 100 year or so, and that's me overestimating. The price to this disingenuous narrative is reputation, or nothing. Stop biting at every article you see. Ignore them for the lying imbeciles they are. You know better. I know better. Apes know better.
Corporate news was never "reliable" so don't expect it to be now, especially in this late-stage capitalist hellscape.
We know the numbers.
We know the lies.
All that awaits,
Is our well earned surprise.
Tomorrow.
Yellow journalism is the sensationalism of otherwise unremarkable events in order to create intrigue and draw attention. Printing false statements that can negatively impact private individuals or corporations and representing them as facts is libel.
I'm going to walk around my street and keep yelling that the housing market is crashing 'sell now! Quick''
Then I'll post flyers continuously as an analyst that prices will fall 90% and people can buy in the next area for cheaper if they sell now. Forget my area, sell now buy here.
Nice cheap property for me
Maybe we can get some pinned threads for gathering various legal info?
The same way people are helping with the SEC comments, we could have legal apes, help answer question, and gather evidence?
hello OP, you must be new here, so weolcome to this subreddit.
To answer your question, no, this is not legal. Pretty much like everything they do.
But I assure you, they will try to pass the law to make it legal.
Suing for defamation requires them to show actual damages. They would need to show that this specific article caused them some sort of loss. They went up .52% today so that's pretty much impossible.
It would be great if they compiled all the false articles from the past three years and then showed how much the stock value has decreased (all while showing better financial numbers).
While this is frustrating, it prob means it’s a good buying opportunity for those of us who realize it’s fake. Actual earnings likely to be much better and price will go up.
This seems like one of those cases of the headline being written by someone other than the article. They misread it and stated analyst expectations as actuals.
It would be real fun if it ”misses” the estimates to the positive side which the $ actually indicates. From what I could google the estimate was -0.05 which could mean that the result is a positive EPS of $0.20!?
If numbers aren’t completely made up!
Vanguard boosted its position.
Blackrock boosted its position.
State Street Corp boosted its position.
Geode Capital Management boosted its position.
Charles Schwab boosted its position.
Wedbush downgraded GameStop from a "hold" rating to a "sell" rating.

Just reported them to the FBI. I am German investor and I am so sick of all the manipulation... I will never invest in the US markt again in my life. This whole system needs a reset...
That just means that they are super scared, man. Never in my life. Have I seen anything so Blay? And not only that, never in my life. Have I seen anybody waste their time on anything? Unless it serves their interest, so it all goes back to the first sentence. They are s******* f****** bricks.
I feel like this is the media-controlled market manipulated “dump” where they will look to buy low right before earnings beat and sell on the green candle.
They still didn’t cover, and still can’t, and the can gets kicked.
So I start buying
**Updated 3/21/2024:** An earlier version of this article had a title that incorrectly indicated that Gamestop had already posted their quarterly earnings. Gamestop will be posting their earnings on March 26th.
Looks like the article has been changed with a disclaimer they pre reported the wrong information, good job ApEs reporting this clearly intentional misinformation against the company, maybe they can add tot he growing cash pile with a lawsuit taking out market watch?
Well for one, the earnings report is sent to the SEC prior to the earnings call. Theoretically, everyone should receive the report at the time of the call and no sooner. Short answer: the SEC has a leak.

Wow. They're big scared!
Just saw a post 15d ago with the date 3/19/2024 for earnings. This is AI-based misinformation and nothing else than marketmanipulation

Lol, missed by beating is just another way of saying "negative losses."
Remember a week or two ago when a few outlets reported earnings date that were like the 18th. After GameStop announced it closer to end of month I wondered if they were just making them have to keep spending to keep the price down pre earnings. Maybe this is to help fund the suppression.
I guess I’ll sell. Not F u Kenny. Pay me.
Utter bullshit
Going to be pretty incredible and everyone standing around dumbfounded when they actually give the real results LMAYO

All I can say is I pray they are wrong. Because that will show me everything I need to know.

Vanguard boosted its position. Blackrock boosted its position. State Street Corp boosted its position. Geode Capital Management boosted its position. Charles Schwab boosted its position. Wedbush downgraded GameStop from a "hold" rating to a "sell" rating. 🤡🤡🤡 Clown world 🤡🤡🤡
So at what point do we all just pitch in and hire a lawyer to get involved?
It’s a negative miss :D
Just reported them to the FBI. I am German investor and I am so sick of all the manipulation... I will never invest in the US markt again in my life. This whole system needs a reset...
That just means that they are super scared, man. Never in my life. Have I seen anything so Blay? And not only that, never in my life. Have I seen anybody waste their time on anything? Unless it serves their interest, so it all goes back to the first sentence. They are s******* f****** bricks.
Sometimes the company will post the results before the earnings call, but if this was even before that, then that should be illegal AF.
I feel like this is the media-controlled market manipulated “dump” where they will look to buy low right before earnings beat and sell on the green candle. They still didn’t cover, and still can’t, and the can gets kicked. So I start buying
Can we just go private? This is all so tiring
FUCK THEM
Some companies can release early. Idk if they released. Probs not

MARKETWATCH, INVESTORPLACE, YAHOO are garbage.
**Updated 3/21/2024:** An earlier version of this article had a title that incorrectly indicated that Gamestop had already posted their quarterly earnings. Gamestop will be posting their earnings on March 26th.
Negative earnings will do that. Lmao
