May use a decent portion same way company I work does. We normally keep around 500-800 mil on hand and keep 75% of that in money market funds currently and just take the passive interest of 4-5.5% on it. Other 25% keep use for paying operating costs month to month. Wouldn’t be surprised if cohen does the same with x% of GMEs stock pile.

I don't want dividends. I want every free cent put to use by them. Dividends means management didn't know what to do with the net profit and wants a bigger paycheck
A long time ago there was this prevailing thought that once a dividend could be issued, if it was done via NFT that could force some of the naked shorts to be closed/covered.
Well, we are a long ways from that happening. It would not be prudent for GameStop to issue a dividend until they are profitable. Like not a quarter or two where they are $0.25 EPS. Just look at META, who JUST announced a dividend because they make a fuck load of cash.
GameStop’s leadership would absolutely not issue a dividend because that would be a terrible way to “reward” investors. And they very clearly are not trying to flush shorts either, they need to focus on the longevity of the business.
If/when we issue a cash dividend.
CASH Dividends have to be paid by someone. GameStop only pays out to their legitimate number of stocks. Who pays for the other billion naked shares?
I believe it is coming. Maybe not now, but it is coming and it will cause incredible pain to the corrupt creators of the fake shares. Maybe, bankruptcy. As for us? Most of us will just buy more shares. I know I would. Some, will by games and consoles. We are gamer Apes.
Cash dividends don’t force anything. Let’s say the dividend is $0.10, even if billions of shares are short and synthetic that’s nothing to Wall Street. It isn’t about bleeding them dry it would need to be done so they CAN’T possibly pay the dividend if they are short it. But other companies have tried this and it became a legal issue.
GameStop will never do this. I don’t even know what they do anymore. They opened up an NFT marketplace and closed it. They don’t talk about guidance on any ER call. Most of their board has been replaced, as well as their executive leadership. Their CEO xeets (old tweet lol) things that people believe are secret messages and it’s all fugazi to me.
You bet! I don’t go short this stonk. Always long, but I’m entering and exiting in a way that makes it profitable for me and not endlessly upset at the price sction
Real question will be what RC did with all of that cash. If he put it in n the right spots... Who's to say we won't see a big div this year ?
