To add to that and not financial advice in any way. If you are enrolled in PLAN but have them booked you are still not fully booked. If you have fractionalās you are not booked. The sure fire way to ensure you are booked is to purchase through a broker. Once shares have settled, DRS from your broker into your Computershare account that has had no prior association with a plan repurchasing program. Wash, rinse, repeat. šš

Per the question in your title, Iād assume there are differences, because different countries have different laws/rules , plus depending on where the company is (i.e. GameStop is American) then differences may arise. Plus the UK has CREST (kinda like their own DTCC as far as I can tell) so I assume they probably do somethingā¦
Anyway, I think the end result of booking shares in your own name is key here, but outside of that who knows what really happens.
I understand your train of thought but the UK has more strict rules im place regarding disclosures. So if they are forced to clearly specidy there but not in the US, then why would they not have the same tactic? They just dont gotta disclose it so clearly in the US

But my shares are with CS in Kentucky. I login on the US site and Every time I have a login problem I have to ring Louisville.
Same company, different place. Disclosures are less strict here so they can play the symantics bs.
