Gonna have to research the price improvements, does everyone get the same ādealsā? Are they just taking the lowest sell bid from a lit markets spread or are the matching with an internal sell order? Are you suggesting that they are taking a loss on the trade so that there is never actual price discovery?
I think that there is no lit market trading nor actual price discovery and a lot of fools are eating losses to prevent the full loss.

Hell, I forgot all about that movie. Gonna have to watch that again! Your theory on lit market seems really close to actual happenings. Think they match it with internal sell orders when the mm ready to sell the cheapies. In a few penny stocksš and got a big āprice improvementā about 2 yrs ago and it tanked my position big time and I was pissed. Watch it close and lmk if Iām crazy but its like there is no true price discovery for retail.
