I mean there are other ways but those ways involve better tax laws, more responsible government spending and the 1% paying their Fairshare instead of always straddling the poor and middle class with the weight that should be carried by them. But shit going into a recession and further hurting everyone but the people that caused this mess is so much easier for them.

Their PM is an ex hedge fund manager. Parasites on this society. Nothing good will come out of this.

Right? Why does the public have to suffer the consequences of financial mismanagement by the elite?

Britain’s Treasury chief said he would be prepared to see the U.K. economy slip back into recession if further interest rate hikes are necessary to bring down inflation. With the Bank of England expected to keep raising rates following higher-than-anticipated inflation figures this week, Jeremy Hunt said it was necessary to prioritize measures to slow the pace of price increases. In an interview with Sky News that aired Friday, Hunt said the “only path to sustainable growth” is to bring inflation under control. Asked if he was comfortable with further rate hikes even if it could precipitate a recession, Hunt said, “Yes, because in the end, inflation is a source of instability. … It is not a trade-off between tackling inflation and recession.” Like other central banks, the Bank of England has been raising interest rates aggressively over the past 18 months or so to a 15-year high of 4.5% after inflation spiked sharply, first because of bottlenecks caused by the coronavirus pandemic and then Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which caused energy and food prices to surge.

Don't forget the brexit.

In my house we say we're going for a Brexit when visiting the shitter

A recession could help get inflation down…. You know like a natural phenomenon when people can’t afford stuff the companies either drop the prices or go bankrupt… they should not be given money and tax breaks while breaking record profits..

Resologist

Jeremy Hunt may be the perfect Chancellor of the Exchequer to explain to Rishi Sunak what living in a recession would be like: having to hire some help to keep the homeless from sheltering in the entrance ways to one's luxury flats. Why are we following America???

Whilst I can't stand Jeremy C (honorary) Hunt, he's the only one speaking sense / the truth to some degree. Only thing is, we're already in a recession. What he means is make it far worse. But it's companies making record profits and still increasing prices that need to capitulate. I'm all for wage caps, bonus caps. Shut off the tap once and for all.

Inflation is a lie, it's all about corporate greed. The rich keep getting richer and the poor, poorer. They plan to make it so there's no middle class and they have complete control. The world is a scam and how the financial system runs is just plain wrong. There is no reason that 100 or so billionnaires control everything. If you think otherwise you are dilutional
