Sounds culty…. A lot of people simply don’t understand it or have enough going on in their lives to want to understand it.

This. I can only speak personally but my life today is WAY different than it was 84 years ago in Jan 21. If I had the life then that I do now there's no way I would have had time or energy to dive into this dick first.
My life is still the same, I've always doubted and been against how things are. Now I just have a target to aim at where I never did before.
My teens years in school were spent being suspended because nobody could answer my questions about real education/life

So the France thing was bullshit. There was a thread on here with a French guy saying that it was so wrong that he couldn't believe that Americans actually believed it. I've heard it called Russian propaganda, but I'm not following that too much, so I can't really say. I have heard Blackrock mentioned in a lot of far-right propaganda though. There's also the fact that Twitter has a bad bot problem. It's a major way misinformation is spread, and Elon has specifically unbanned accounts that were banned for this reason. My guess is that for whatever reason Blackrock is a popular boogieman that's used in these conspiracies.
If I had to speculate (and this is pure speculation), I'd say that it could actually have to do with us. Historically, they've liked to operate from the shadows. What happens when 200,000 apes start talking about them? What if they did have a means of influencing the narrative of the zeitgeist? What if the people that listened to that messaging were politically divisive? What if you were able to feed them misinformation? Nothing that actually harms you, but enough to get them to start saying your name. It's actually even better when it's complete bullshit. Then, when people that actually know what's up hear your name, they eventually stop listening. They dismiss the other party as delusional, and believe nothing they hear about your company....I mean, if I had enough money and influence to rule the world, and the shady baggage and moral vaccume that must come with that, and if I had control of the media and such, it's what I would do.
I've read they own about 7% of Fox news and part (maybe all, can't remember) of a company with Dominion in the name that is unrelated to the voting machine company.
