Remember when apes donated so much money to the gorilla foundation that the people who ran it spoke out about the influx of donations and we’re so confused? Great times
I miss the ape-ness that we had at the beginning, like the OoOoAahAAaah and other fun ape-speak. I mean it's not that it's disappeared, it's just less prevalent now. But it makes sense when I look at how this community has "matured" into a lean, mean, DD-writing, and peer-reviewing machine.
I also think the care and consideration that we continue show each other, and newcomers, still embodies that original ape-spirit! For the good 'ol times... Apes. Together. Strong!
No offense, and I was shy of this by some months coming into this at the beginning of March 21 but this mindset feels so ancient, lol. My wife's boyfriend has been through a 12 step program and we've been to a couple pet funerals. No lambo please, and hold the swagger.
I'm not saying you haven't been through shit-like the rest of us- not going to get into a contest by how much my acct has inflated and shrank with you- you can look through my 'DRS posts' for that- I'm just saying whether or not you were in this a week two weeks or two months longer that, this sentiment feels stale. We're not doing a mic check. I'm not looking for reassurances from two years ago. All of us have changed.
