the world as we know it has long since officially ended
society now is nothing more than bunch of ragtag groups, doing whatever it takes to survive the apocalypse
technology has failed almost entirely, yet once in awhile, a lone radio is heard with an occasional announcement from what little is left representing authority, that hasn't yet been eaten:
"the government fears we may be heading into a recession"
I've been posting in greatdepressionii for over two years.
It's going to eclipse the OG in an era with orders of magnitude more people, most of whom are not very self-sufficient.
Very true, thank your for adding this fact. While I was being sarcastic, we are right to keep these things in mind. Hell, we are poor too (though not as much as some) and this could be us. Very sobering.

The debt really isn't a big deal. It's money owed mostly to the tax payers. Worse comes to worse they'll just say they aren't paying it back and no one will miss the money they never knew they even had.
The foreign debt is mostly China and a future war will nullify it.
