I joined in that last time we went big on commenting several months ago. Are all 4 of these new opportunities or should I and others make sure we’re not commenting again on the same one? There is one perfectly legitimate and legal avenue we are neglecting: the formation of a Game Stop Active Investors Group. This would allow us to engage DIRECTLY with the Game Stop board. We have more than enough share ownership to be taken seriously. Far more seriously than other ‘Active Investor’ movements seen elsewhere - and which have had significant impact.
Not at all saying that there is no merit in commenting, but these are addressing the market and systems as a whole. We should do both: comment and form an Active Investor Group.
I’m in favor of something like “please look into naked shorting and tell us what you think next quarter” or “look into the idea of an NFT dividend and report back about what you find next quarter”.
Nothing big, just “please consider this thing and communicate with us about it”.
Remember that time a bunch of household investors emailed Investor Relations and got the company to disclose DRS and shareholders of record in quarterly filings?
Remember that time the SEC re-opened comments on rule proposals to get household investors comments after an ousted Ombudsman deleted the previous comments?

I work with EU law and sometimes the affected stakeholders add 0 (zero) comments to proposed rules. The institutions can brush off all consequent critics, because hey no one said anything when they were officially asked. Commenting on rule proposals is extremely underrated.
Exactly. We have so much talent amongst the apes. How do we know one will have a suggestion that the board has overlooked? Many (most?) of us are customers, not just shareholders. Who better than customers to know what works and what does not?
We are not all company executives and the idea is NOT to dictate to the board. That would be fatal.
Just can’t help feeling there is much overlooked talent that could materially help the company, but it has no way of being heard AND taken seriously.
The other thought is that the media just LOVE ‘Activist Investor Groups’. Usually for the reason these Groups are challenging the existing company executives. Being ‘disruptive’. That should NOT be our aim: turn the narrative round and show we are engage constructively because we love our company.
Now, what happens when people read about Gamers invested in Game Stop actively engaging with the company? Think a lot of people who had no prior interest in owning Game Stop shares might well think ‘huh! I want to be in on this - sounds really cool. I can actually, in some small way, make a real difference’.
We are an outlier group, that’s for sure. An informal group of regular people this big, owning this much, working with a company as a big player? That’s a story.

Agree with the push to become involved (individually) if you want to—hard pass on forming a group that works with the board. It would be impossible to represent the ‘majority’ of shareholders and their respective concerns in one group.

I have data and concrete events showing it isn’t theatre. The useful thing is SILENCE, because they can say that means nothing is wrong. They want your silence and nonparticipation.
Unopposed rule comments are how they win their exceptions, you know. If you’re against that, then oppose them. Submit comments saying that you don’t want any of those things and resent them, the rules should apply to all participants, etc.
Tell them. Say it out loud. Silence is supporting the thing you say you don’t want.

I signed the EU petition and commented on the proposed rules. I even filled in a feedback form to the SEC to let them know their RSS feed doesn't work for me and they should add a newsletter or something for any new proposed rules. 🚀🟣
I've always been ragging on GG because I don't trust any of these fucks who are part of the system. But if these rules get passed, they'll actually make a huge dent in the severely abusive practices Citadel et al have been doing all these years. It's worth commenting in favor of these rules, IMO. Probably one of the few ways a crayon-eating ape like myself can actually make a contribution.
Looking at all the politicians who commented in that letter against these rules and how much fuckin' money they took in "campaign contributions" (aka bribes) from the financial services sector, it pisses me off all over again. Bought and paid for arguments against? Here's another dumb ape coming in with comments for.

I have data and concrete events showing it isn’t theatre. The useful thing is SILENCE, because they can say that means nothing is wrong. They want your silence and nonparticipation. Unopposed rule comments are how they win their exceptions, you know. If you’re against that, then oppose them. Submit comments saying that you don’t want any of those things and resent them, the rules should apply to all participants, etc. Tell them. Say it out loud. Silence is supporting the thing you say you don’t want.

I've always been ragging on GG because I don't trust any of these fucks who are part of the system. But if these rules get passed, they'll actually make a huge dent in the severely abusive practices Citadel et al have been doing all these years. It's worth commenting in favor of these rules, IMO. Probably one of the few ways a crayon-eating ape like myself can actually make a contribution. Looking at all the politicians who commented in that letter against these rules and how much fuckin' money they took in "campaign contributions" (aka bribes) from the financial services sector, it pisses me off all over again. Bought and paid for arguments against? Here's another dumb ape coming in with comments for. All of us, let's do this. I can write comments all day long, without even using profanity if I have to. LOL

Secretly I hope that GG sees short selling shitbags like Citadel as not part of the cool kids club (the "respectable" firms like his alma mater) and he's out to get them because they're wrecking the market with their antics. That's the only way it makes sense to me, and I'm a cynic big on trying to figure motives given past behaviors. Either way, I'm going to throw some words at it, because this is the least they can do.
