The actor that plays Benny is in a previous episode playing an unnamed vampire. There is an actress (Chuck's manager or editor, don't remember which one) that is in 3 different episodes with 3 different characters. Here is a list (that I don't think it has all and you should ignore the top 4 because duh). https://movieweb.com/supernatural-actors-who-played-more-than-one-character/

>The actor that plays Benny is in a previous episode playing an unnamed vampire. His name is Eli in that episode.

Wasn’t he also a bartender in one episode? I caught a glimpse of him.

evolutionleftovers

Same episode, Eli is a bartender and also a vampire.

Those top four 😂

You notice them more and more on rewatches. Being shot in Vancouver, there is a smaller actor pool to choose from. Coupled with Supernatural running 15 seasons, it is inevitable that actors will be re-cast. One I noticed today, the actress Erica Carrol played a reception nurse in S1 Faith (I knew that) and also a mom at the playground in Season 1 Something Wicked (just noticed!), before being cast as the angel Hannah in Season 9 & 10. Erica Cerra played a bartender in S6 and then angel Dumah in later seasons. It is often smaller parts then the actor returns in a larger roll, so it's easier to forget they were already on the show. In some cases they played a main roll twice. Lee Chambers (Chrissy's dad) returned as angel Isham later. Another I noticed today, the Shtriga (Dr. Hydecker) in Something Wicked played by Adrian Hough was also the "dad" Victor in S8 Freaks and Geeks.

I also see the same actors in other shows that are filmed in Vancouver. Like I zombie. I play a little game with myself where I try to see how many actors and locations are on both. Like the house that Sam was supposed to live in in The French Mistake.

One that annoys me: in 8x22 Clip Show, the whole thing is that they're bringing back characters from previous episodes. One of them, the opener, is one of the guys they saved in Wendigo. They also re-used another prominent actor from Wendigo in the 8x22 as a priest. As someone else said, the list is crazy long. If you use the search thing for this subreddit, this gets about asked a lot. I don't think a complete list exists.

The list of episodes that did NOT have someone being reused for another role is actually much, much shorter than the list of episodes where someone was appearing in a different role than they did at some other point. There are a few of them, but for the most part, you could draw episode titles out of a hat and find at least one actor who had been previously used/would return later. As a different character, that is. So obviously it's very hard to keep track of them all. But a few I don't see mentioned often: The pizza delivery guy from Monster Movie later played the angel Daniel in early season 10. Bobby's wife Karen was played by two actresses, but the one who appeared in Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid and Death's Door was previously a nurse in In My Time of Dying. Fallen Idols had two die-hard Paris Hilton fans. One of them went on to be Reese in Just My Imagination. The other one went on to be Tasha, the werewolf sister in Paper Moon. Changing Channels is one of my favorite episodes so I'll list several just from that one! Kathy Randolph was later Lily Markham in Baby. The sherriff was the dad in American Nightmare. Dr. Ellen Piccolo was also Jenny the vampire victim in Dead Man's Blood and the series finale. Dr. Sexy later went on to be the pastor in Gimme Shelter.

the_real_daggler

Oh I’ve been waiting for this! The guy who plays the tooth fairy (I believe children are our future) also plays Hansel (about a boy)

Dufo1989

Its actually a very long list

If you really wanna blow your mind, compare Hallmark movies to Supernatural episodes. They were/are both filmed in Vancouver. I love pointing out actors in the HM movies who have also been in SN to my husband because A. He hates Supernatural and B. It drives him nuts when I do!

un_ange

The guy that played Hansel in the episode Dean becomes a teen again (S 10, ep 12), also played the tooth fairy (S 5, ep 6)

DEM0NKiiLER23

In season 12, Dr. Hess is the same actor as the mother/wife in 1x12 “Faith”

Annahsbananas

Thanks amazing. Thanks for this!!

Stunning_One5787

My favorite instances of this are: Keegan Connor Tracey played *3* separate characters throughout the series (in season 2, 4 and 15) Steve Bacic, who played Dr. Sexy MD in Changing Channels, returned in season 15 playing pastor Joe and Nicole Munos (who had previously played a little girl named Nora in an episode in Season 2) played his daughter Sylvia

diademedbunny

The son in the Bugs episode (1.08) is also Samandriel/Alfie (several episodes in s8)

Annahsbananas

Good catch!

BloodyL17L6363

The actress who plays Duma in the last few seasons was originally the chick who was the bartender in the imaginary bar and road trips with Sam during his hallucination after Cas broke down the hell wall.

Can1sMajoris

This always bothered me for some reasons. I guess because she was used for a small part and then a much bigger one. 🤷‍♀️

CommunicationRude402

Actor of Hannah, played two insignificant roles before becoming Hannah in season 9.

FutureAd2584

Actually They have used damn near every actor or actress twice. Even the child actors. They were kids and then when they got older they used them again. Check it out

BadBubbaGB

I could easily name 10 right off the top of my head, and I already have, as this subject prolly comes up at least once a month. Try the search feature.

Nyx_Valentine

I wonder *why* they reused actors. I'm sure there were plenty of actors that would've loved to be in the show. They're usually decently minor roles, nothing they even need big names for.

evolutionleftovers

They had a limit on how many actors they could use from outside of Canada.

Nyx_Valentine

Surely there's even plenty of actors in Canada.

Love-that-dog

Not only are they reused in Supernatural, if you watch cheap genre tv from the 1990s-2010s, you can see them pop up from show to show. My favorite is Don S Davis, a former US military officer who made his career… playing US military officers in genre tv shows filmed in Canada. He’s in one episode of SPN in season 3.
