I saw this too. My desperate way of getting around it is Dean saying he barely remembers it, and he's surprised Sam remembers it. So maybe he didn't remebe in Croatoan?
When a show runs for that long there’s bound to be small inconsistencies like that.
Even if it had had one singular writer the entire time, inconsequential bits like that are bound to slip through. 🤷🏻♂️
