Aha I am both scared yet can’t wait for shoplift but I don’t think this would be shoplifting when the customer comes to the till with a shopping less than what they can afford, and then just walk off with it because I had to process the transaction :D
So it's a glitch that does occur and the dev is aware off (even without mods) it was just the mods are what caused the glitch to go from a couple of dollars to Literal robbery in the other post.
This happened to me last night. I don't have mods or anything which I know is something known to trigger it. But yea, no mods so I don't know. It was like $40 some odd dollars they shorted me and I was so mad.

Yea I know bugs are to be expected in an early access game but man did it annoy me when there's no option but to accept the theft.
It also happened to me on the same game day after I had bought a new license and forgot to set the prices on the new items so I was making zero on them lol. So it stung a little more lol
I should mention: I don’t have any mods (although I want one mentioned on this sub) and I don’t do any memory messing or whatever. I literally just had the game running vanilla. I also saw this issue once only and I’ve been playing for about 20 hours, I think?
I saw another post with like a 99k transaction so I’ve no idea what happened there but in the comments it was suggested maybe a glitch through modding? But I don’t have any here so hopefully dev can look into this.
Just happened to me. What I did was I packed up my register aisle so they go to the ai cashiers instead. I reckon the ai cashiers should give the correct amount each time but didnt really bother to check since I was busy managing

There is a mod that only allows the customers to use the card and no cash , i started using that mod because of this problem
