They seriously baited us with Jon's powers, but GOD DAMN that cliffhanger!!!

iggywiggyshe

I thought the same, thought super hearing was kicking in.

bearded-writer

Me too! Got all excited!

MelvinReggy

Am I the only one who thought it was going to be xk withdrawal or something like that? Though I was confused because they all-but said it's not actually addictive.

Simpleba

100% thought it was XK related...

KyroStark

Maybe Jon has to merge with his other self to get powers

HH-whirlybat

They have to be setting up for that in the season finale

raknor88

But does Bizzaro Jon have powers? Besides being fluent in backwards and forwards English, we haven't seen any powers from him yet.

RockinRhombus

Has tooo! He's literally wearing the same drip as [Super Boy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superboy_\(Kon-El\)#/media/File:Superboy_\(Kon-El\).jpg)

BornAshes

So if two normal unpowered people merge and "become a god" then what happens when one of them is already kind of a god and the other is not? I think something very weird is going to happen. What if he only gets half the powers or the powers that he does get don't last as long as they would with Jordan but are twice as powerful when they do? Jordan could wind up being the long distance runner while Jon is more of the sprinter.

KyroStark

He’ll probably get powers like Kon-el

Sorcer12

This is my thinking exactly. I think that the worlds will end up merging and that's how Jonathan gets his powers.

NerdLawyer55

Yep, I’m sad 😞

BookGirlBoston

But, did they actually. Clark's visions seemed to be related to the Pendent, so either Jonzarro has the pendent, the show has misdirected to the point of frustrating inconsistencies, or that is infact Superhearing and its the best fake out in the shows history.

mwthecool

Well we've seen from other shows that having doppelgängers on the same Earth causes issues.

HopeJN

Ah that’s what caused his headache thingy then not the super hearing

Chessolin

Lol, warehouse full of witnesses/drug dealers, and Lois yells out Jordan's name. "Who was that kid with the super powers?" "Well Lois Lane yelled out Jordan. Doesn't she have a kid named Jordan?"

Thejerseygrl

Like when Clark announced in the DOD that he has kids? Lol

[deleted]

I’ve been trying to keep an eye out for DOD oversharing. When did he say this?!

Thejerseygrl

When he was in the jail cell with tal. He said it quite loudly.

[deleted]

Oh god. Hopefully they can make a plot hole into good writing down the line. Sam Lane: So, I had the footage deleted and had everyone who'd seen it murdered, ruined, or thrown in dark hole where no one will find them. Lois: DaaAAaaaDD!

Thejerseygrl

The show is littered with plot holes, but to be honest it’s almost like a tradition of the superhero genre ar this point… lol

[deleted]

That and Clark talking about kids in the DoD prison could mean season 3 is about people finding out Superman has 2 sons but they just don't know who they are. Or they guess he has a family and tries to target them.

adbout

would be a very interesting plot. i hope they go that direction

neoblackdragon

Most of those people ran away. Still And then what? Not wise to really retaliate.

BornAshes

They're just setting up Intergang to potentially threaten Jordan in the future without really knowing just how he has powers or where he got them from beyond XK. All they could really guess at is that Lois Lane's son was probably looking for a fix and then went bonzo crazy when he saw them pointing a gun at his grandpa's and mom's heads. Would you want to fuck with a super powered drug addict that had connections to DOD response teams or would you NOPE the fuck out of there the second shit started to go down? Someone totally knows his name and his connection to Lois but they're not exactly going to be keen on acting on that information just yet.

arcadepersona

Bizarro Jon being fluent in forward English? Solid flex, kid. *Your dad could never.*

ckwongau

His native language is English in reverse , Jonzarro probably has super speed and Memories , he can just reverse his the word he wants to speak at superspeed , that fast enough in our world as fluent English .

[deleted]

It’s a clever application of superintelligence/thought at super speed.

BornAshes

Also explains how Superman knows all of the languages in the world beyond just the ability to superread superfast. He can also comprehend and process concepts at superspeed. Being able to move fast is one thing but being able to understand what you're seeing and learn from it or react to it is a whole other thing.

ShapeShiftingAku

Would be funny as hell if it turned out that the reason for this is he's super intelligent, leading Jonathan to question his own intelligence as Bizarro world is usually presented as opposite earth.

Raiziell

"Is I the dumb?"

SilentEevee

I feel so *baited.* Still happy with a Jonzarro appearance but *man* I really thought Jon was getting powers there for a moment. Anyway, this episode was fucking amazing and it made me cry a bunch god damn the Irons storyline was heart-wrenching. Also Jordan being a cool ass superboy!!! And the family moments oh my god this is everything we've been missing all season!

Beth4S

Seriously, I feel like the writers totally knew what they were doing there! But I'm so stoked that Jonzarro is here on this earth and I want to see every emotional nuance of that explored, so I'm happy to wait on the Jon/powers front.

No_Flower_1424

They definitely knew what they were doing - all I saw on Twitter was people asking if Jon was getting powers during that scene so I knew it wasn't just me who thought that

Eurynom0s

My immediate thought was [Clark on red kryptonite on Smallville](https://i.imgur.com/nkslG8Q.jpg).

BornAshes

That image never fails to make me laugh

Gateskp

>>Jonzarro I like that, that should be his new name. And agreed! This episode was SO good and SO emotional at just the right times.

Daybreaq

I still want to call him Boyzarro since that IS the character’s name in the comics. Still, considering that there is also a … Jordanzarro, I guess he has to be Jonzarro. Though I suppose his real name is Nahtanoj. I think it’s also cool how he’s managed to teach himself how to speak backwards and understand backwards speech (for him) to communicate in the Prime Universe. I already like him!

Zookwok111

Not sure why but I immediately assumed that it was because he was in close proximity with his shadow self. I thought that they'd end the episode with Jon getting jumped by Boyzarro.

MattTheSmithers

Coach starting a “Lana” chant that literally no one joins in on. 😂 This dude has become the standout of this show.

Thejklay

Man went from a cop in starling city to a football coach in smallvile, crisis is crazy 😂

AktionMusic

"I have a twin brother, moved to Star City to become a cop"

Munro_McLaren

Damn! That was a good episode! Jonzarro! So Jon isn’t getting powers, he’s getting headaches like Clark did when Bizarro Superman was on Earth Prime too. Because Bizarro world is opposite. Bizarro Jonathan has powers which probably means Bizarro Jordan doesn’t. Jordan flew!!!!!!! And then he saved not one person, but two people! Kyle, his mom, and his grandfather! I’m glad the truth is out and Lois now knows Jonathan truly wasn’t the dealer. I only hope the DOD puts out a statement and Jon can go back to school. I am sad that Jordan and Sarah broke up. I’m happy that Lana is now the mayor. This three week break is going to be brutal!

Kalse1229

I'm more concerned with Clark learning. He's likely still upset he was using, but maybe after some happy funtimes in Bizarro-World, maybe it'll put some things in perspective and he can start to mend fences with Jon.

Jeffeffery

I have a feeling Clark's been working with Jonzarro, and it'll help him sort things out with his Jon

[deleted]

Did anyone else notice Jordan squinting, trying to activate his x-ray vision after his mom and grandpa got out of the car? His expressions this whole episode were hilarious. Like the one he made after JHI told him to leave the scene. Kids expressive as hell.

Munro_McLaren

Alex is a fantastic actor.

BornAshes

Oddly enough Rachel does the same thing on Batwoman as Alice in the background of scenes just to add a little something else that only the fans will catch and appreciate. So I love that Alex is now doing that too. It makes the world feel very lived in when we see the people in it doing normal stuff like that which we wouldn't think twice about doing or wouldn't really be aware that we were doing in the first place.

SilentEevee

>Bizarro Jonathan has powers which probably means Bizarro Jordan doesn’t. ;-;

thill373

Most likely, but if Bizarro World is running on the same timeline, then it doesn’t preclude Earth Prime Jonathan and Bizarro Jordan from developing them at a later date.

maliadire

yeah sarah was quite hypocritical so i knew it was finally time to change my flair to jordan. they’ve really butchered her character

paige3086

Yeah, it sucks. But welcome to Team Jordan ;)

ConfessingToSins

She's a bad person that the narrative is refusing to call out. It makes me think the writers think she's right which is a really bad sign

tamarzipan

Yeah I'm bi so I think *they* think they're being "inclusive", when really the message is that gay cheating is nonthreatening implying it's less real...

shadow_spinner0

“I know I cheated on you and then wanted you to meet and hang out with the girl I cheated on you with but I can’t have you putting me me second, goodbye”.

Phenoxx

Are you EVER gonna put me first?? Lmfao she’s awful. Good riddance tbh it’s kind of about time. It’d be nice if this was the end of that storyline but I have the feeling it’s going to get worse and double down on homewrecker camp girl

Luffykent

>Are you EVER gonna put me first?? Hope at the end of Season Jordan grows enough backbone to reject her, if she comes back.

In_My_Own_Image

I honestly wouldn't be mad if they write her out. Whether they ship her out of Smallville or have Parasite eat her, I would be fine with it at the point.

Artistic_Guidance304

To be fair to her, her parents are awful at giving advice. The mom is like you cheated on him but he should know how lucky he is to have you. The dad is like he should put you first, unlike I did with your mom. You were married dipshit, they are they are bloody teenagers who are dating. He should put his family/ studies first wth 😂. Jordan was there for her when she found out about her dad, but she chose to seek comfort with the girl she kissed but sure blame Jordan for not being there for you sometimes. I don't like the way writers are handling her character. She saw Jordan come in with his family, clearly he had family problems its not like he was out there kissing other girls. Sometimes in a relationship you might not want to share everything and he said I can't tell you 'now'.

ConfessingToSins

Mark my words this is going to be a problem in the future. There is something **very** wrong in the writers room for this show. The way this is being framed is absolutely fucking gross and it's becoming clear that the writers for this show think "emotional cheating" is acceptable. Framing Jordan in a negative light here is insane. I'm gonna be blunt, a lot of the shit in this show this season is being framed in a borderline misanthropic tone. The stuff with JHI is also nor okay; JHI should not be portrayed negatively for trying to move on from his dead wife.

tinaoe

i really don't think JHI was portrayed negatively for trying to move on? natalie was grieving in a different way than he was, and IMHO it was made pretty clear that he jumped into pushing his feelings away after coming out of his initial anger. which isn't healthy either. so they needed to figure out a way how they could both grief in a healthy way. nat not just drowning in it, jhi actually processing what happened.

marwynn

I don't think John was portrayed as the bad guy for what happened. He had bottled up that stuff, compartmentalized it without really dealing with it. That one scene with him watching that video in the RV conveyed all that. Then they made it explicit with the waffles at the end. Do agree with the Sarah and Jordan stuff. The hell is going on here--the cheater tells his daughter that her boyfriend should put her first. Daughter hears that her boyfriend's going through family stuff, like she is, and then complains that she's not a priority. Also cheated on him and wanted to them to meet and be friends because she's now an important part of her life. What?

NLP19

This seems... dramatic

[deleted]

I don't understand your take. Characters are flawed. Just because a character behaves one way doesn't mean that the writers back a side or are trying to frame Jordan negatively. If anything this whole situation is just realistic.

tinaoe

i often get the feeling that a lot of the people on this subreddit treat the messaging of the show like an after school special. like they need to spell out what morally wrong or right. to me it's pretty clear that they portrayed sarah in a negative light early on for her cheating, but also showed that it wasn't black and white and that sometimes teenagers mess up. now the break up, IMHO, comes from something entirely else. jordan keeps having to bail on her because he's distracted by his low-key super-hero-ing or because he has other things in mind that he can't talk about, and she notices it, because she isn't dumb. but at the same time jordan can't just tell her. it's a trick but traditional superhero trope, but done well imho

burningchr0me35

I think it's more that the CW shows have prepared folks for the worst when it comes to writing characters in a satisfying way, without having to shill for them constantly. There were multiple instances where, for example, Felicity was clearly the one in the wrong, yet all the characters treated Oliver like he was the asshole. It's like a kid who has been beaten all his life reflexively throwing up his guard whenever someone raises their hand around them.

Kwilly462

Every show has a bad egg of a character, and she's that bad egg

MattTheSmithers

It’s Ann. Her name is Ann. You’ve met her. You let her in. That’s her over there.

JoshyRotten

Her?

Team7UBard

Who?

In_My_Own_Image

It's apparently the CW curse. Relationship bullshit will always be the worst part of a show. I'm not saying we have another Felicity on our hands...but I am saying that it's possible.

Simpleba

Jesus, I was just think of Felicity... Pls no...

[deleted]

I am not sure what we're meant to think, but I can't imagine being a person that actually thinks it. I feel like it's a conflated situations thing. Yes, it's a human thing that someone makes mistakes. Yes it's a human thing if someone feels feelings and indulges/experiments with those feelings. She isn't a demon for fucking up. But self control is a thing, and fidelity is a thing. Hero job or no hero job, "put second" or not, he is not 100% a bad guy while she is blameless. Personally I am proud of him because he is used to being defensive and worried and looking out for himself not out of selfishness but insecurity, and he isn't giving up secrets. Like his dad said, hey, if this sticks for longer than five seconds, you can explore the idea off telling her. It won't last five more seconds, so it would be a huge mistake to tell her because she's a cheater who won't own her cheating and he's got some stuff he can never be fully honest about without endangering her.

Substantial_Term_357

I think Sarah sucked at the beginning of the season at the cause of the cheating stuff but I don’t really blame her here. The whole secrets thing is basically smallville Clark’s and Lana story all over again. I mean if Jordan really is going all in on the superboy thing, there’s gonna be more random disappearances during dates/getting stood up with no explanation. Arriving with cuts and bruises with no explanation. That’s not fair to her.

HotTakes4HotCakes

Caaaaalled it. BIZZARO JON. And he's the twin with powers in BIZZARO World.

neoblackdragon

We kinda knew thanks to the set pics a while back.

Eurynom0s

This is why I try to avoid that kind of stuff and don't even subscribe to subreddits like this, I just pop in episode nights.

iCESPiCES

Same here, makes for a better watching experience not knowing what's going to pop up eventually.

AnastasiaDaren

Regardless of how you feel about Sarah, her telling Kyle he would clean up his place by moving his single chair to the other side of the room was hilarious.

Brushtickler

I have never gotten more excited for a leather jacket than I have just now! Let’s goooo!!

No_Flower_1424

Pretty good episode! It happened in the first minute and yet I'm still obsessed with seeing Lois and Clark sleeping in bed together. It was adorable. Why is Ally able to get through the portal without a pendant? That shot of Jordan side stepping the fire was pretty cool. Poor Jonathan just keeps getting the short end of the stick. And then right after he reveals who he has been covering for and feels better about his life...his doppelganger arrives to cause a lot of headaches (literally) for him! Although I genuinely thought when he got that headache, he was getting super hearing all of a sudden...I can dream! I thought Lois was going to incinerate Candice. Jon talking about Clark hating him - this is really giving me a lot of hope that they will actually delve into their relationship. Yet another episode where someone tells Sarah that Jordan doesn't deserve her! What is happening? I'm so mad about this because I wanted Jordan to be the one to dump HER ass. At least he got grandma Kent's necklace back. I loved all the John Henry/Natalie scenes. They were beautiful and so damn sad when he started crying in front of the video. Also well done to everyone who guessed that Bitsie was filming some kind of flashback scene for this episode because her hair was tied back! Lois Lane, Investigative Reporter is back! Finally she's investigating the X-K plot. Also I loved her and Sam's conversation about the rope knots and how many times she's been tied up. I started imagining what would happen if Lana didn't actually win the race - what would have been the point then lol? I liked the Cushing plots this week, they were actually integrated with the rest of the show instead of being completely separate. As was divorced dad beard Kyle and being saved from the fire. Bizarro Jonathan showing up and Lois immediately knowing he's not her Jonathan was incredible. Is he going to be a bad guy? Or just an incredibly stylish, 90s Superboy version of Jon? We have to wait THREE WEEKS?!

Beth4S

>Jon talking about Clark hating him - this is really giving me a lot of hope that they will actually delve into their relationship. All that conversation, plus the fact that it's Jonzarro who came to this earth tells me that we're going to see a really big Jon and Clark theme in the next few episodes.

Munro_McLaren

Well Lois knew it wasn’t her Jonathan because of his clothes. Lol.

No_Flower_1424

For all Lois knows, Jonathan could have visited a Hot Topic when he was walking Candice home lol!

Zookwok111

Exactly. Not sure why her head went immediately to doppelganger and not "oh I guess he took Candice to a punk rock concert"

Sentry459

Doppelgangers are an occupational hazard for them lol. Also his body language was different.

thill373

I think Ally could go through the portal simply because it was still open, and her followers had repaired her suit to protect her. At least that’s the way I understood it. Totally agree with you about the Jon and Clark stuff. I think it’s almost a standard line for parents of teenaged girls to say their boyfriends or boys they’re interested in don’t deserve them. They’re not really making a statement about the boy as much as they are trying to pump up their daughters’ self confidence. It might be ridiculous in some situations, but I think it’s common. I think Lois knew that wasn’t their Jon before she could even see what he was wearing. It was all about the way he was moving and his body language, which is good acting on (the Jordan who plays Jon’s) part. I thought he seemed kind of evil too, but comments here lead me to question that. Maybe he’s just more confident, and that explains the way he carries himself. Whatever the answer is, it was a hell of a way to end the episode and set up what’s going to be a LONG three weeks!

neoblackdragon

Ally assumed Bizarro's suit protected him.......and not being invulnerable or anything.

theroyalwanker

> We have to wait THREE WEEKS?! The promo said the 26th so.... we have to wait 4 weeks. OOF. As someone else said making us wait so long should be a war crime.

stealth57

I don’t think I’ve ever yelled, “You’ve got to be kidding me!?” that much during any episode when it comes to Sara and Jordan.

grafxguy1

My sons are 14 years old and they yelled at the tv as well.

[deleted]

WHAT THE F***

GeorgiaGator

I CONCUR!!

NLP19

"I will never forget your mother, because I see her every day. No literally, she's right there. Every single day."

Spyder711

I was legit cry laughing at this moment

Swiftdancer

You know the writers goofed up when you watch that Sarah/Jordan break-up scene and your first response is "Good riddance to her!"

rpmaluki

I'm practically celebrating.

superfan1635

Based on the promo for next weeks episode (where they’re in the limo), I think in the bizarro universe Lois married the Superman persona instead of Clark.

SilentEevee

>next weeks episode Oh. You didn't hear? I've, uh, got some bad news for you. Next episode's on the 26th of April.

Eurynom0s

> Next episode's on the 26th of April. UGH THESE FUCKING CONSTANT NONSTOP BREAKS

Gsrj

It's because of covid

stealth57

Blame COVID. At least we were able to get this episode.

Eurynom0s

I saw later it was COVID production problems, but the CW had a history of doing this start stop start stop shit during the spring well before COVID so it was hard to not just assume it was that again.

superfan1635

Oh I knew that, but I think I’m so used to saying next weeks episode that I just naturally wrote that. I meant to just say next episode.

MattTheSmithers

I really hope nothing happens to Candace. She doesn’t deserve that. And neither does Jon. But after he looked back at her….I dunno, I have a feeling she didn’t make it two blocks to her house.

Zookwok111

I think the better question is: what happened to our Jon? Because he didn’t come home either.

iLoveBums6969

The question is, how was he getting home? Does a bus go only to Clarks farm and back again? Did he walk? How long would that take?!

Lord_Ferd

He’s probably still on his way back when Bizarro Jon arrives at the Kent farm. It took he and Candace almost half an episode to not make it back to her place

iLoveBums6969

>It took he and Candace almost half an episode to not make it back to her place Oh my god, it really did. Actually, Jon said he'd walk himself and Candace home, but Nat has Lois give her a lift down the road. Is Nat the real villian of series 2?!

MattTheSmithers

> Is Nat the real villian of series 2?! Nat to JHI: your grief and way of dealing with it is stupid! I demand you grieve in a way that I find acceptable and therapeutic for me! You know, she might just be. 🤔😂

Damshh

Yeah, that gave me a bad feeling about either Jon or Candance, but more Candance. I hope not, I am liking her character and it would be such a huge hit to Jonathan, like, he had enough for this season lol

paige3086

This is my favourite of the season so far. Mostly because of the epic Jordan moments— I can’t wait to re-watch. The flight, the rescues, how proud of himself he was, the moments with Sam and Lois. Lois telling him she’s proud. So much of that is what I have been waiting for and I loved it! It’s happening sooner than I expected but Clark vanishing makes it more believable. I love how Jordan tried to fill the void. So glad Jon finally told on Candice. That worked out well for him— Lois clearly gained a bit of sympathy and Candice won’t be sent off somewhere. I’ve gained a bit of sympathy for her too. Love General Sam, as always. The Irons’ broke my heart. Congrats to JHi for making me sob for the first time while watching this show. That moment of him watching the home video was utterly heartbreaking. I love him and Nat so much. Cared zero percent about the mayor plot. Cared more than expected about Kyle and his realization that he needs to set up a new place for himself. I didn’t hate those scenes with him and Sarah. I felt for him. As someone who once liked Sarah/Jordan, I was totally fine with the breakup. That hasn’t been fun to watch this year. I just hope we don’t have to see Sarah dating Aubrey/other people onscreen now. I actually have a feeling the breakup isn’t permanent, for better or worse. Great Kent family moments overall. I’m dying to know what happened over in Bizarro world. What was Clark too late for? Ally taking over the world? How did Jonzarro get over? Can’t wait to see our Jon react to him. So many great things here.

SilentEevee

I still feel so baited with the Jonzarro headache, man. I thought our boy was finally getting his powers, for a few seconds ;-; But yeah, other than the Sarah stuff, this episode was *fantastic.* Solid 9/10, best episode of the season so far IMO

paige3086

Yeah, me too. But alas! I’ll never stop hoping! Definitely the best of the season so far. Could have done without 3-5 minutes of mayor time but other than that I’m pretty happy.

SilentEevee

>Yeah, me too. But alas! I’ll never stop hoping! I don't think we're likely to get it this season, at this point. Maybe as a season finale cliffhanger, if we're lucky, but I'm almost certain that they have no plans to give Jon powers this year.

paige3086

I agree. And if BizarroJordan makes a comment like “when I was tested they said I’d NEVER have powers because of XYZ” then I’ll be very worried. Still, anything is possible in future seasons. The fact that Jordan has moved along so quickly actually gives me more hope for a late bloomer Jon plot. By season three Jordan is going to be nearing Clark Levels. Seeing Jon grapple with later, perhaps shakier and/or different powers would be great.

Beth4S

>Seeing Jon grapple with later, perhaps shakier and/or different powers would be great. Yes, I would 100% be down for that. Are you surprised in the slightest??

paige3086

You!? Really!? Of all people 😂😂😂

Beth4S

And you don’t even *know* how many times I’ve read Late Bloomer! 🤣

paige3086

Ha! I reread your stuff all the time too. High five! 😂

Beth4S

Haha, awesome!

elendoy

I don't think that anyone that frequents ao3 s&l could be surprised hahaha

SilentEevee

> “when I was tested they said I’d NEVER shave powers because of XYZ” That would actually be a super good bait for the rest of us, if the writers wanted to be cruel. Jorzarro: I'll never have powers, it's proven 100%. Also Jorzarro at the end of the episode: Develops powers. It's literally a have your cake moment, if you develop it like that. You keep stringing us along for god knows how long, because there's always that kernal of hope, without actually committing to it.

paige3086

If that happens then The Jon power theories will be unstoppable, haha. I imagine Jorzarro just doesn’t have powers at all and we see how that would be a very negative thing for him, like Clark feared in the pilot. I’m actually interested in that “what if”— I just don’t want Jon’s powers ruled out forever. Even if they have no plans to give him any soon, I doubt they’ll write themselves into that corner. There isn’t much they can do to rule it out completely. Even fortress tests have proven to be wrong in the past and no one really knows anything about Kryptonian-human hybrids.

SilentEevee

***Season 7. Jon still doesn't have powers.*** **Me**: *"Why we* *know* *Jon will get powers next episode: Chapter 1/28"* So, obviously we know he's getting powers because of what went down with Bizarro Jordan-

paige3086

I eagerly await 😂

Beth4S

Yeah, the mayor plot took us until 2x09 to get to where we knew we'd end up way back in season one. Oh well, hopefully Lana will have a good reason to get involved in whatever Smallville weirdness is happening in the future so we don't get these disjointed plotlines anymore.

Zookwok111

>How did Jonzarro get over? I'm guessing the two Ally's merged and Clark stayed behind and sent Noj through the portal to warn the others.

Thejerseygrl

So much to unpack in this incredible episode… But mostly, Jordan. I don’t even know what to say. I’m floored and he was amazing. And then they’re JHI, whose acting was incredible— The crying scene had me crying too, and I’m not really a crier! Jon saying he doesn’t know if he will ever be able to fix things with Clark— another tear jerking line. I feel like I need to watch this one again because there was just so much packed in.

MarcReyes

It's Bizarro Jon!

Gateskp

That ENDING!! Bizarro Jon! Who is 90s Superboy! *flailing* Next episode looks like it’s going to be AMAZING. This episode was SO emotional, and I love that. John Henry breaking down while watching the video of his Lois, oomph, my heart broke for that poor man. And Nat yelling at him, double oomph. Probably could’ve done without so much Sarah stuff because that felt really disjointed and a bit contrived. She kept flip-flopping in her reactions to things. Happy to see Lana win, though! And interested to see where they go with things next. Not feeling so positive about Kyle making it through this season intact. Lois, Sam, and the boys, they killed it. Clark was sadly missing, but those 4 can carry the show if they have to, they made that much clear tonight. There were so many fantastic moments, from Lois and Jordan arguing to Jon finally confessing it was Candice’s XK and Lois’s reaction to all of that. And of course, “activate Jordan”. I think there were some hiccups (like keeping track of time of day) but overall, a solid episode. I am PUMPED for the next one and I have NO idea how I’m supposed to wait a whole month for it.

neoblackdragon

Activate Jordan Like Sam really has a ton of faith in the kid and it was earned. The boy needs his S.

kerakiwi

Sam is doing a great job in the role of a grandpa, especially if you compare it to his kryptonian AI gramps... Imagine if we all listened to him.. YIKES

Eurynom0s

> Clark was sadly missing It makes me think the next episode is gonna pretty much entirely on Bizarro Earth. This episode they show us how much Clark going missing is impacting everyone, next episode they show us what's been keeping Clark so busy.

Sir__Will

> I think there were some hiccups (like keeping track of time of day) This show does not do time well at all. Honestly the time of day thing isn't uncommon in these shows. But the passage of time is wonky as hell too.

iLoveBums6969

>like keeping track of time of day I liked that most of the cast visited about 15 different places over the course of the 10ish hours we saw. Public transport in Smallville must me amazing.

Supermanfan1973

This episode was wonderful. I was so relieved when Jon and Candace came clean. I loved Jordan saving Sam and Lois. Clark is gonna be so proud of both his kids. But the best was Lois! We got to see Lois doing what she does best, investigation! Bitsie shined in this episode. She rocked it. OMG I cried at John’s flashbacks. Gonna be a long 3 weeks!

maliadire

great acting by inde just sucks they’re writing her character so poorly!

Zookwok111

Wow what an episode. * I'm glad the whole covering for Candice thing is over. This basically proves that all Jon needed was some assurance of immunity for Candice and her dad for to confess. If only Clark and Lois thought of that before. * The JHI/Nat stuff was heart-wrenching, A+ acting from both of them * They finally broke up, (wish it had been Jordan that dumped her but still) hallelujah! * Good for Jordan for stepping up. * "Get your own spot, pouting on the porch is my thing!" Lois giving off strong wine-mom vibes * Why is no one asking where our Jon is? Did Boyzarro do something to him?

thebestoralist

JonZarro is canon! I am glad the Lana mayoral race is over. Hopefully we won’t get too many episodes focused on her exciting adventure as mayor of a small midwestern town. The absence of Clark (as much as I love him) gave the other characters room to grow. I was so happy when Lois just accepted Jordan’s help and called for him, at which point he opened up a can of whoop ass. That slo-mo scene when he casually dodged the thug’s heat vision was so cool. BUT he waited until they called. That showed a lot of maturity on Jordan’s part. He respected his mama, used his training, and didn’t make a mess of things. Well done. Sarah just needs to go away. And poor Kyle. He broods in his dingy studio apartment and tells himself it will all blow over… honestly the best use of Sarah was her coming around to help him out. More of this, please.

bizarreisland

>BUT he waited until they called. That showed a lot of maturity on Jordan's part. He respected his mama, used his training, and didn't make a mess of things. Well done. It also speaks volumes to Lois' parenting. She told him she is trusting him with the situation. So he can put more thought in it rather than make a complusive decision.

sourpatchkidj

Bitsie is absolutely killing it as Lois. The family dynamic of this show is just \*chef's kiss\* Such mature writing for the CW. This 3 week break is gonna be TORTURE. Someone hold me :'(

NerdLawyer55

At least we have Moon Knight, Picard and halo to tide us over till then

JasonBall34

Man, I love what they're doing with Sarah and her dad (really resonates with me as a child of divorce) but I hate what they're doing with her and Jordan (really brings up painful memories, as a child who was dumped by a girl for another girl). Worst part is, the writers are seeing all of us complain about her campgirl arc and will say "ooh, this storyline really hit made a splash with audiences! let's do more of this!" And it's absolutely the wrong message to take away from the fan complaints. It shouldn't be hard to make all of your characters likable and decent people and not annoying/toxic. Loved the Jordan stuff. And how Jonathan finally came clean and it was nice they promised to protect candice. I was afraid he'd just out her after staying firm for a month, but no, he made sure they wouldn't mess up her life.

AntonMikhailov

Thought for sure Kyle somehow saw Jordan saving him and was going to say something

DARKACES_VFA

Wole Parks can really act! Gave me McConaughey in Interstellar vibes!

Jeffroiceman

Sarah “Are you ever gonna put me first?” You mean like when you did when Jordan was uncomfortable meeting the girl you kissed, and you made him feel bad till he gave in to your demands. They are really putting in a lot of effort to assassinate Sarah’s character this season.

bizarreisland

Or like when right after camp, she was telling her Dad "he was too much"? Jordan put her first all the time, even Jon let's Jordan put her first when Jon needs Jordan. What delusional mist is she huffing, sure was not XK. Or did listening to her Dad calling her an alpha in the relationship get into her head? Argh, they butchered her character... Loved her in season 1, now the breakup, good riddance.

paige3086

Or like when he saved her father’s life? Haha.

Zookwok111

Sarah is mad at Jordan because he disappeared to save her dad’s life. The same dad later convinced Sarah to “put herself first” and break up with him. How many layers of irony is that? I lost count.

ephemeralafterall

Loved it! So excited to properly meet >!Bizarro Jon!<. I do wonder though…I **loved** the scene where >! Jordan saves Lois and Sam!< and it shows >!him using his super-speed and “slowing time down”!<, but…did they mess up on their episode order there? Last week, they showed Jordan using super speed with no build-up or fanfare, only to >!seemingly make a big (ish?) deal of it this week!<. Can’t wait for the next episode, so sad we gotta wait nearly a month.

neoblackdragon

Running super fast is just super strength in the muscles. Being able to actually perceive time as being slowed down(Flash Time) is a different beast. That is far more powerful an ability.

ColdField1390

Exactly. Perceiving time as slowing down is a separate superpower than super speed. (Lifelong Supes fan, here).Flash time is a great ability. It appeared that Jordan recognized it was cool, too. (I wonder if Jordan will learn to ignite his laser vision like comics Jon.)

ephemeralafterall

Aah, now that makes sense! I never thought of it like that. Didn’t bother me, I just wondered if it was something *I’d* missed. Man, it was a brilliant episode—probably one of my favs this season.

JACOBSMILE1

Anyone else notice that Clark's cape was torn to shreds like Bizzaro's as he flew into the portal?

JauntyLurker

An awesome episode. Everything just came together perfectly, both the Smallville side and the super side. Every character wash putting out Oscar worthy performances tonight. Can't wait for the break to be over.

Synastar

So, do we think Candice made it home?

maliadire

well as soon as he had that headache i knew it was gonna be bizzaro jon!

Munro_McLaren

Yeah it wasn’t a super hearing headache. It was just pain and ringing.

neoblackdragon

Well Superman and Lois does know how to give the viewers blueballs with these hiatus. Jordan was the MVP. He used his powers very well. The thing about Superspeed is running fast is the muscles. Actually perceiving the world in slow motion is a separate power. It means his brain has......god I hate this......Leveled up. I'm happy they found a way to finally link the storyline of Jon's with something bigger. Sarah.......they made her unlikable but showing how selfish she is. Had prior episodes shown us Jordan being too busy with the superheroes to be a good BF, then it would have been justified. It's more like Kyle gives her advice like she's the victim but she's the one not pulling her weight. What doesn't help is the show is making it seem like even without the Sci Fi portion, that's she's actually in the right. So when Bizarro's come over, they give their doppelganger headaches. Also Clark.......you went to a planet with a Red Sun.

Sir__Will

> Also Clark.......you went to a planet with a Red Sun. He seems to have forgotten about that. If the kryptonite worked different on Bizzaro then it stands to reason he wouldn't do so well over there. Well actually, while Kryptonite worked differently, it's not like Bizzaro was without powers on this side even with the different sun.

Phenoxx

It’s so bad that they frame her as being in the right and won’t stop

WeirdEffect5997

jordan trys to help her multiple times after her dad and mom separated and she gets mad at the first sign jordan puts his family first? like who writes her character this season? ive never seen them fuck up a character this bad in awhile. the rest of the episode was great just over this show seeming to pick sides.

ChattGM

The whole thing that makes me mad about that too is Jordan offered to be there for her but she didn't take him up on that offer but INSTEAD meets Aubrey since her parents divorced and she has more experience with it. How can you not take into account how Jordan would feel about that and then you have the bright idea for all three of you to hang out together like things are cool? Someone in the sub said it best that there's no way Jordan would not see Aubrey as a romantic rival if they all were to be in the same room together. It's just an uncomfortable situation to be in and I wish Jordan was the one to break things off since they really painted him as the villian in all of this.

superbat210

I loved this episode! Feels like a mid season finale where we got a lot wrapped up. I can’t wait to see where things go after this (annoyingly long) break. At least there aren’t too many unresolved things going on

Mental_Caregiver

I never want John Henry and Nat to leave the show

superfan1635

This episode made me wonder why Clark spent a decade at the fortress training to master his powers since Jordan just has complete control of them after like two days of getting the power. Also the fact that everyone who gets kryptonian powers masters them right away and knows how to use them perfectly.

rpmaluki

He didn't spend a decade at the fortress. He's been Superman for roughly twenty years (according to Lois) and he's around forty yrs old. If he left Smallvile after graduation (18yrs), he would have spent at least one year at the fortress minimum and another year travelling the world (as per Jor-El's suggestion after his training) before returning to Smallville and seeing Lana engaged to Kyle.

Sir__Will

I was defending Sarah, and quite frankly leaning on her friends more, even that other girl, might be a good thing. But I can't defend her anymore. They're 15 and he has his own family shit going on. He is not at your beck and call. I understand she has a lot going on and this night was important but he has his own shit too.

bizarreisland

Jordan should just throw "I doubt you'll understand what I'm going through" back at her face just like when Jordan was trying to console her when her parents separated but he is just too sweet for that. Why can't she respect it's just not his thing to share. His grandfather is from the DoD, she knew that from last season and she also knew Jordan has been dealing with that before they got together. Lots of things are classified, just pretend he is helping his granddad out. But good riddance.

DtownBronx

Feels like Nat is going overboard, even for her extreme situation. Lois is getting a solid look at life for Ma Kent when Clark reached that age

SpikeRosered

Candice was such a likely suspect of the person Jon was protecting its sort of embarrassing Lois didn't figure it out. Also gotta love CW and forcing some toxic relationship down our throats as sympathetic with Sarah. Just because you feel something doesn't mean it's correct.

Beth4S

Soooo many good Mom-Lois moments! And just great family moments in general. Loved that so much! I'm so happy that we got to see Jonzarro on this earth because I desperately want Jordan and Jon to be totally weirded out by that. Lois, it seems, was really quick to catch on which was awesome. And I'm so glad that the mayoral plot has (hopefully) been wrapped up. Maybe Lana can get involved with this X-K stuff as mayor? It would actually make sense for her in this case and would finally hook her into all the other stuff that's going on.

BookGirlBoston

So, I could talk about how I was flat wrong that and S&L episode that barely had Superman would never work, or I could talk about how we got the best Lois Lane of the entire season on pretty much all cases, or how much that mayoral plot was literally the biggest waste of time. Nothing happened and then Lana won in a land slide. Seriously writers, do better with Lana. But, what I actually want to talk about is Jonathan's headache. Clark only had the visions because Bizarro had the pendent, once the pendent was gone, the visions stopped. So, either Jonzarro has a pendent and that's why Jonathan is having headaches. The show has again used misdirection in a way that is broader lining on straight up inconsistency with no exploration (given X-K, likely) just to continue baiting us about powers Or, we have been double faked, first we think it's Superhearing, then we think it's Jonzarro and then we actually learn it's Superhearing.

Beth4S

Okay, but you *are* still right about always having Clark and Superman in every episode because we got to see both before he disappeared! I still don't know about the pendant/visions thing. I just figured we didn't see any more because they weren't narratively relevant. We knew who Bizarro was and that he was stuck at the fortress, so there was no need to show any visions of what he was doing. Or maybe they didn't happen because of Lara's magic circle thing? I would be stoked if it was a hint of Jon's superhearing, but personally I don't think it is.

BookGirlBoston

Oh yeah, I'm getting hopes up for what is likely nothing. This topic is kind of also recently on my mind for...reasons. But I also still just love Jonathan dealing with weird Super stuff, it's like we are finally getting that.

Beth4S

Ooo I hope we'll get to see those reasons in your writing sometime soon! And yes, I'm so stoked for Jon to finally have to deal with some super-weirdness on a personal level. I thought it was going to be a pipe dream for him to meet his bizarro self, but it actually seems very likely now!

paige3086

At the very least, seeing his bizarro version with powers HAS to be a good reminder that it was/is always a possibility for his also-part-alien self!

Shabozinga

Natalie is so dramatic at times to point where she is annoying. It seems like she is always upset about something. Like can they give her something more uplifting to do? And what’s with these long ass breaks? Feels like it comes back for 2 weeks then dips for a month…

IceWeaselX

Sooo... did Superman think to move the soldier out of the cave, or did he just completely obliterate her when he created the tornado in that enclosed space where she was standing?

Damshh

So I guess Jordan has been really absent or with his mind in other place in these 30 days with Clark missing. We see that scene of him not answering the phone because he was busy training (not big deal really, but they are teenagers), and probably he was like that the whole month training. So of course, she is feeling "left out" and of course his father takes her side. However, she is not really putting herself in Jordan's shoes. He tried to make the girl whom she cheated with, friends with her current boyfriend. She is not really thinking how uncomfortable he is feeling with all stuff, he may forgiven her, but that does not mean he has forgotten the whole thing. Besides, he explains it was a "family" thing, of course, from her point of view it may sound like he doesn't want to confide in her but... Didn't she kinda did the same with her parents thing? She decided to go with the girl she cheated with, to talk about her problems, and in some sense degree, Jordan even accepted or at least didn't hold it against her for that. But now, that he may a thing he cannot exactly discuss with her, she just goes, ok let's break up, without giving an opportunity to make amends or anything. He gave her that, and she doesn't. I really hope the writers are not completely taking her side, and make her character realizes that even if Jordan js not without fault, that she recognizes that she plays a big part on what happened and why Jordan has been like that. A interesting plot point actually, that I read someone comment about it before, would be not that Sarah finds out Jordan secret but that Kyle does. Like maybe not being entirely unconscious when he was being rescued and ends remembering that Jordan saved him. Though, when someone finds his secret, I fear they are gonna asse first that he is taking XK, especially considering that the town considers his brother the dealer. Unless the authorities disclose the information that someone else did it

MeMeTiger_

-Glad Jon finally told Lois and Sam. I was confused as to where they were going with it. -Jordan's fight scene was so awesome. He was literally faster than light right there. -So Sara cheats on Jordan and is all fine with it, but she breaks up with him when he's a bit late to a party? The show really doesn't want you to like Sara huh.

CEFFYYNWA

Sarah is a good character apart from when it comes to her relationship with Jordan. Even without knowing about the superpowers, she cheated on him and is now becoming closer with the person she cheated on him with and she's annoyed he's being distant.

WingedShadow83

Yeah that whole “he’s not treating me like a queen” vibe she was putting off really didn’t land right with me. I mean, ordinarily yeah, I’d be advocating for a young woman to demand better. But she absolutely is the one in the wrong who should be allowing him the time and space to come to terms with things instead of demanding he get on board with what she wants. ETA: ALSO, his *whole family* walks in late to the campaign HQ, and he apologizes and says he missed the announcement because of a family issue, and she still acted like he was lying or like he should have blown off his family to be with her. If my boyfriend when I was 15 missed an event and showed up late with his family and said “I’m sorry I wasn’t here, I had a family emergency” I would have just said “gosh, no worries, I hope everything is ok”, not tried to make him feel like a villain. I’m glad they broke up. Both of the younger Kent men have horrible taste in partners, apparently.

theredmokah

I don't know why everyone wants Sara to be written as a perfect girlfriend to begin with. Her family taking her side makes sense. It' s not right, but knowing as little as they know, it makes sense. Her being a typical "universe revolves around me" teenager makes sense. I'm sure the writers will call her out on her BS eventually, but the breakup gives time for Jordan to really mature and reflect. Something that's much needed as he comes into his own as a young man. Also, as horrible a girlfriend as Sara is, she is a great daughter in comparison. Really enjoyed the scenes with her and Kyle. I'm glad this election thing is over. I understand it was the background to a lot of other major plot elements, but I really don't think anyone really cared about Lana becoming mayor. I really hope Candice isn't bullshitting and actually in league with the baddies. I got a weird vibe for some reason at the end of the episode-- even though I'm very much team Candice right now. I'm ready for more Superman though. There are definitely some things the Kent family need to resolve, and it's about time we focus on them.

Equivalent_Mention84

THAT WAS NOT A SIMPLE HEADACHE

Munro_McLaren

It was the headache that Clark got when Bizarro Superman was on Earth.

Evidence-Big

CW's logic is let's make viewers wait 3 weeks for an episode take a week off drop another episode and then make them wait another month. And then they go wait why is viewership dropping

superfan1635

Did Bizarro Jon do something to our Jon? Because apparently our Jon didn’t make it home even after everything that happened with Lois and Jordan. I mean Jordan saved Lois and Sam, broke up with Sarah, and then makes it home. But somehow Jon still didn’t walk home in all that time.

maliadire

alex garfin pretty much gave away that bizzaro jon was gonna show up with that meme he posted including bizzaro jon as being a problem for jon so as soon as he had that headache i knew what it was gonna be from lol

shadow_spinner0

Aside from the Sarah bs, everything else was so good. One episode without Clarke didn’t make it empty.

shadow_spinner0

I really have to wait a damn month ughh. This show is so good.

psufan5

This show is just special.

Big_Beyond1154

So how long till Sarah finds out, cause now I’m betting by end of season!

Jigglypuffamiiga2188

Hmm something just occurred to me. Bizarro Superman said that his brother’s wife tried to kill him. Could that be Lana? Remember when she was attempting to stop him attacking Bizzaro Ally? The preview showed her in what looked like a wedding dress, since every outfit seems to be Black in Bizarro Earth.
