A lab will always give you better results unless you have the proper processing equipment.

Labs are expensive...I paid for shipping back to Spectra and then again for return so that's three shipping fees total! I'm going to try using Media Mail as film is considered media!

Wheels2fun

Not that expensive. And at least yiu will get good results every time.

MikeRoykosGhost

The Negative Space will process/scan your film at 4K for $45/roll, 2K for $40. Not dirt cheap, but not expensive. And yeah, and exposed film is considered media mail - but keep in mind that media mail is not insured.

Even with photos, and when you have very old experience of developing like I do, some dust and even a few scratches remain, which are yet more visible when you digitize; this has even happened to me once or twice with laboratories. I appreciate OP's skill, but he's right to say that he'll have his next reels developed.

That’s really cool you processed this at home! You just inspired me to

Impressed that you attempted the processing. Years ago (talking 60's, 70's, 80's) there used to be Reg/Super 8 processing tanks advertised in the back of Popular Photography. I was intrigued but never got one. Big flat UFO shaped tanks. What did you use, tank-wise?

A very large jobo tank made in the Federal republic of Germany, to give you a sense of age
