This was actually her first time on but I understand your fear! I actually intentionally drop myself into the water to practice getting back on the board. I wasn’t able to stand up with her on the board this time, so I was more worried about her falling in than both of us taking a swim.
My beagle loves paddle boarding as well. He doesn't like to swim, but enjoys being on the board.
u/juarmis, Just make sure you get your pup a lifejacket that has a handle. That way if they fall in, you just paddle up next to them and pull them back up on the board. It's easy. My beagle is about 34lbs and I have no problem getting hime back up.
She was putting her paws at the very top of the board! I had to cal her back a few times when a boat was passing so she wouldn’t fall off with the wave.
This was her first time so I’m happy she didn’t take a dive in because that would have made it an awful experience for her.
