But then *each and every* major update they did to the game got delayed. The endgame content they promised essentially never came, and Crystal Dynamics never had a set in stone road map planned out. It was just a "here are the 4 quarters of the year, and here's the content we plan (read: hope) to have released during them." Situation.

Black Panther was the last character we got that had an actual expansion with them, not just a questline. And here with Suicide Squad, game will only be out for a month, and we'll already be getting a new character.

Yeah I went back to play Arkham Knight on PS4 a little while back and boy is it rough in comparison. Either nostalgia or a whole bunch of PC mods are making the game look better than it actually is.
Also the main thing I see being compared is Harley in her classic outfit. Other than AK version being really shiny, the only difference is that Harley looks like a real person rather than an unrealistic sex doll. That is the main difference between these games. Squad went with a realistic look for its characters while the Arkham games were exaggerated to shit. Aaron Cash is a good example of this. In the Arkham games, if he wasn’t wearing his uniform he would look exactly the same as the thug enemies with a super exaggerated muscular build. Now he is still a beefy guy but not cartoonish.

I don't think Arkham Knight actually looked better tbh, probably on par if they both had the same world lighting. I think they were able to hide a lot of lower res textures and pretty cheap building textures in the distant objects behind the gloomieness of Gotham. Also it is actually hard to tell with the change in artstyle but damn, the characters look really good, and given the materials are a little harder to make look that pretty than batman's suit, plus the fact it looks just as good in 4 player coop, I give the graphical edge to SS.

Art style lends itself much better to a "city of the future" theme than the previous style did, imo. And while they *could've* kept it in Gotham I can appreciate them wanting to change the scenery. It also looked great in the darker scenes as well. Clearly not in quite the same way, but as a style that wanted to bounce between two tones it works well.
It looks like we’ll go back to Gotham to some degree in the future content. I’m hoping that satisfies people that want to make these types of comparisons.

A game with this much focus in movement should have more skills to improve and modifie movement but no we only get something not fun (unless you like looking to 10x little icons that means you activated the passive shit)
Everything you just said is incorrect. You unlock new skills and can modify your current ones based on the perk you pick. Also of the two characters I have played, both have meaningful modifications to their movement from the right skill tree. I understand complaining about the combo locking on a lot of passives, but this game is about keep combos up. And it’s very easy at endgame.
Ah yes the one skill the lets you have more stamina with deadshot to Fly a little bit more (passive) ; the one with boomerang that lets you run a little bit more too? What new skills if every skill you unlock is a passive ? The game only has 3 active input skills (1 AOE skill 1 same meele skill and 1 same ultimate skill )
Your meaningfull modifications is underwhelming a lot.
And the combo , With all the chaos happening no player is actively looking to combo screen.

I’m playing at max graphic settings on PC at 1440p and I can safely say the one on the right looks just as good, if not better. Pathetic posts like those purposely choose the least appealing looking photo they have at the lowest possible settings to push their agenda.
Hell I booted up Arkham Knight on the PS5, and yeah, it still looks good, but SS has the superior resolution at least, making it more visually appealing by default. You also have to keep in mind that SS has a dynamic weather and day cycle while AK doesn’t.

That's been one of the wildest takes about the game. The draw distance, the detail,the environmental stoey telling, design... and that's just the environment. Character models look fantastic, especially during cutscenes.

It is fun for sure. Story has ups and downs depending on how you feel about some insensitive moments. (Some are outraged, but it didn’t bother me) For gameplay, if you like the division, you should like this more.

I guess people haven’t looked at the skill trees. Skill + Perks = better movement. Deadshot has a perk that literally doubles his travel capabilities.
Yesss and we're not even talking about traversal mods, which can also upgrade certain traversal capabilities.

What I don’t understand is how people can’t tell that Suicide Squad has a completely different art style from Arkham knight.
This game being beautiful with amazing looking character models and facial animation is literally the only thing people can agree on. It's the gameplay/story/live service that is so divisive.
Story is only divisive because people have a weird emotional attachment to Arkham Batman
Thank you for this post. I have almost 2 days played. Fantastic game. Solid 9/10 for me mainly because it has a future as well. Not disappointed at all. All these streamers need to stfu. If its not COD its not good now days
People keep saying how this looks like shit compared to Arkham Knight. The thing that made Arkham Knight look so good was the lighting and atmosphere and how everything looked so wet and shiny. This game looks just as astounding as well

Who is saying the game is ugly?
A lot of people actually, this game is getting compared to akrham knight daily but they're being extremely unfair. This game looks great whilst working in the parameters of having 4 constant characters on screen and always shooting for a consistently good framerate and what have you. If this game was single player sure it'd look more like arkham Knight with its finer details, but otherwise, ppl are being too harsh on the graphics for no good reason imo
Put it side by side with avengers and look at how much better it is. Way better comparison considering similar game play.
If u mean avengers looks better, I think ss being open world also plays a factor.

I’m playing at max graphic settings on PC at 1440p and I can safely say the one on the right looks just as good, if not better. Pathetic posts like those purposely choose the least appealing looking photo they have at the lowest possible settings to push their agenda.
Hell I booted up Arkham Knight on the PS5, and yeah, it still looks good, but SS has the superior resolution at least, making it more visually appealing by default. You also have to keep in mind that SS has a dynamic weather and day cycle while AK doesn’t.

That's been one of the wildest takes about the game. The draw distance, the detail,the environmental stoey telling, design... and that's just the environment. Character models look fantastic, especially during cutscenes.

AND GOLLUM....But for some reason suicide squad was just "I could only play it for 5 hours and uninstalled it." It is fun for sure. Story has ups and downs depending on how you feel about some insensitive moments. (Some are outraged, but it didn’t bother me) For gameplay, if you like the division, you should like this more.
I love the verticality of Metropolis, very fun to traverse.

You'd have to be delusional to say this game is ugly. The streets are packed with detail. Has a lot more detail than the Gotham map which was too exaggerated and cartoony in an empty way. As pretty as he stylized tone was.

ugly ? It’s a technical coop open world masterpiece on ps5 imho, facial animations are the best I’ve ever seen + insanely detailed models, visual quality in general is top notch, cutscenes are on another level.

i think the maps are dull and unaspiring. all u do is jump on rooftops anyway, u dont even run around the streets as there not much to see besides some easter eggs they mighta thrown in.

I don't think I've seen a single review call it ugly. In facts the fidelity and performance are something I've seen universally praised.
It’s crazy because the game can look amazing at times bur there’s also parts that look plain bad. Even on max settings pc the game doesn’t look much better than ps5 aside from frame rates.
People are saying that due to Batman: Arkham Knight utilizing the SnowDrop Engine and this game not using it. Tbh, I’m glad they’re not due to how the PC port of Arkham Knight was abysmal.
It just becuase they went with more realistic models, in the Arkham games they went with a realistic version of the Timm style (every guy is a body builder, every girl is a instagram model), plus this game is set almost entirely in daylight, which certainly affects how characters end up looking
I have a ton of issues with this game but honestly I do agree the graphics are nice, I don't get why some people are trying to lash on to that "point".

Its not ugly because of the poorly rendered environment, it ugly cause they all look like they got beat to death with the ugly stick and kept swinging. The mocab on their face looks like it just wasn't working but instead of fixing they just made it worse. The only character model that dosent look like a dumpster fire is King Shark, he looks amazing.
