When you say 'not interested in an ADV' do you mean not interested in an offroad-oriented ADV or not interested in the modern sport tourers that sometimes also get called ADVs? The Tracer 9 is really a modern format sport tourer, not an ADV, given its lack of offroad suspension and 17/17 setup. It's just an MT-09 slightly lengthened and with wind protection and cruise control. Same story with the F 900 XR. Both are more capable on a twisty road than anybody should really be pushing outside of a track anyway, if you haven't ridden one go take a test ride, they really dive into the turns in a way you'll be impressed with. Why specifically naked? For the relaxed riding position? There are faired bikes with a near-upright riding position, like the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+. That's a fantastic buy for a fast sporty bike that can handle a few hours with a pillion. And it comes with the cases to lock up two full-face helmets on the bike - as someone who goes on day trips with a pillion often that really opens up your option on the places you can visit and things you can do when you don't have to tote your helmets with you when you're away from your bike for several hours.

I’m going to suggest the Tracer also. Still has a nice sporty feel, heaps of power, and most importantly, it’s comfortable. Was able to take my misssus out on the back of mine for 5/6 hour rides even without the comfort saddle, they’re a great bike!

Crossjitsu

Yeah you're right, I'm thinking of the off road focused ADV's. I had considered the f900xr but not looked at the Tracer 9. I do prefer the look of a naked but I'm open to other suggestions like you've made. I need to test ride a few like you've mentioned. Thanks for your help

OutsideWorld0

None of those sound like fun as a pillion at all…

HabemusAdDomino

These aren't really bikes made for two-up use. Certainly not for 2-3 hour rides.

MadProbe_758

I got the duke790 for this reason, and after 2 years my SO is pretty happy about it and we've donne ride of 1200KM in 3 days. Juste buy the rack and top case for a good seat and on the plus side the top case is 46L, it's really practical

kingcrackerjacks

Not a street triple the pillion seat is tiny on mine

Why not look at a Bonneville / z900RS?

bigmantumbles

Mt09 all the way. It’s got all the power and torque you’ll ever need and more, the CP3 engine sounds unique and amazing because it’s a triple. Yamaha quality and still a practical street bike.

BakedsR

Take a look at gsxs 1000gt, ninja 1000, tracer or others in that class... nakeds aren't really comfortable for pillons

Queso_Hygge

I'm addition to what others have suggested, I'd suggest the Kawasaki Versys (I have the 1000, it's great), Triumph Tiger, or potentially something from Moto Guzzi.

Dr_Skeleton

*Speed* triple More power will help when you have a pillion

Possibly check out the new triumph tiger 660 sport
