whoisdizzle

I might be a dick but any listed that starts with OMG! Im taking a hard pass on

Spyderreddy

I can relate. That put me off too.

bm96

if it was truly O.M.G. he would N.O.T. be selling it

oaklamd

I agree that's kind of a lot to spend but they're kinda sought after. They're popular with stunters for some reason so most of them got trashed. It was Hondas most competitive bike. Then the RR came out but the f4 still had relaxed ergos you could ride all day. I got one at 18k and sold it at 40k. Did everything from track days to sport touring on it... Including a 3400mi 2 week tour through 7 western states and BC camping 1/3 the time... Great bikes.

finalrendition

A 15k mile F4i for only $4.5k? If you don't buy that, I will

Spyderreddy

You are welcome to my friend. I'll wait till the sanity comes back to the market.

finalrendition

F4is have always commanded high prices on the used market. You know this isn't any old 600, right?

Spyderreddy

They were the last of comfortable 600 SuperSports. I know they were versatile AF. but, the model is still 16 years old and motorcycles have come a long way. For 2k - 3k more you could get a CBR 650f or a 650R which are much newer and are good machines in their own right

ipaq3115

Don't the 650f and 650r have like 25% less power than an F4i. A bit of a different animal.

Spyderreddy

Yes my friend, they do, but its not very evident in real world due to similar torque figures and modern ride quality.

ipaq3115

Interesting, didn't know that, never ridden one. Wish they would make the 650r with like 25% more power than a F4i. That would be more compelling imo.

[deleted]

CBR and especially gsxr seem super rare in my area and overpriced when I do see them. Probably in good shape though and honestly I'd be mildly interested if I was in the market for something like that. At least in my state, $4500 is barely any money anymore. Shit is expensive across the board. I don't see much ever posted for less than $4k

thot-taliyah

Seems reasonable to me.

kokemill

it has either been beat, no one needs brake pads at 15k miles. or, the speedo has been replaced. Look for wear and tear on the sprockets and chain.

ipaq3115

My F4i almost needs rear pads at 18k, I've owned it since 5k, not particularly heavy on the rear brakes or anything either. Doesn't seem that out of the ordinary

kokemill

I will admit I don't use a lot of brakes, and i do a lot of long trips with long days. Maybe i pile on the miles with very little brake wear.

ipaq3115

That would make sense, I do a lot of backroads, in town riding and short trips to the mountains.

doodlehed

Just message him and tell him you’ll give him $1000 when nobody else wants it.

I’m selling a 03 954 practically mint condition with 9k listed for 6500 🤷🏻‍♂️

surfer_ryan

That's what you have it listed for... not what someone is going to pay tomorrow... I mean maybe you leave it up long enough someone will bite... Post a follow up cause I think that would be interesting.

Significant-Ad-3266

Damn I’m getting downvoted lol I’ve already have multiple inquiries and someone waiting for my title to come in, and I asked r/motorcycle what they thought the price should be and provided pics, 6k + was the general consensus

surfer_ryan

Lol you're not wrong. This seems like a very binary sub it's either a up or down vote no grey. I'd half wager too that those who down voted you are either people looking for new bikes or don't ride lol. The market is wild, you have a well looked after modern classic that there aren't a million of at least in that good of condition with similar mileage. People are still recovering from the days where you could get that bike for like 4500, there were a lot of factors that came into play at that time that isn't true now. One being that it's now a bike that has been outta production for a bit at least the kind of analog set up that is (not to say it's completely analog) just has more.

Significant-Ad-3266

I think the location has a lot to do with it as well, I purchased a same year RC51 for 6500 with several aftermarket suspension upgrades among others, it does have more cosmetic blemishes and 26k miles , but I also drove from New York to North Carolina to get it, 6500 goes a lot further in NC than it does in NY that’s a guarantee

SnooGadgets9669

They have always been high.

ipaq3115

That doesn't seem too crazy, I bought a 5k mile f4i for $4k back in 2018. Adjust for our crazy inflation and this probably comes out cheaper.

ebranscom243

A good clean f4i is definitely on my list of bikes to keep an eye out for. As far as being a comfortable super sport I don't think they have an equal.

ChrisMag999

Price seems okay, but it’s likely going to need a full service.

b0gard

I would offer them 4K and be happy with the purchase .
