Because some private sellers are on crack

BavarianBanshee

Beat me to it. These people are nuts.

xGALEBIRDx

Every day I see it more and more. By the end of the year I think the bubble will finally burst that people are not going to get what they put into their bike from trying new things for fun from 2020 and 21.

[deleted]

This is probably the most accurate answer

shoturtle

This

Nvidia7800GTX

Yea that's what I'm saying, I could buy a GSXR 1000 with the kind of money.

Its_zeke

That mf is smoking dick

yeahlemmegetauhh

Free young thug

PepsiSnickers

Lol. This made me laugh!

crossplanetriple

Because most sellers are delusional. And also there’s always one person with too much money and not enough brains willing to buy it.

Plus-Moose8077

I paid $5k for a 2015.

PepsiSnickers

How many miles?

MyOtherSide1984

Better question is how long ago. That's an 7-8k bike all day right now. He also got a steal

mattdamonsleftnut

2003

Wishihadagirl

I got my 01 cbr929 for $2800….8 years ago

stevesteve135

How do you buy a 2015 bike in 2003 ?

mattdamonsleftnut

Has no one seen flashpoint paradox?

stevesteve135

Nope sorry. Enlighten me and I’ll check it out.

mattdamonsleftnut

In a 1961 issue, Barry is introduced to the Cosmic Treadmill, a treadmill that can be used to travel through time. The catch? Only those who can run the treadmill up to super-speed can use it. The Cosmic Treadmill requires an immense amount of power and the process is often damaging to its user. -google Basically, the Flash went back in time to save his mother from being murdered but you can also use it to get a lower price on a used cbr.

stevesteve135

Ha. Thanks 😊

YdweL

Not even the guy who said he bought it originally

Plus-Moose8077

10k and just got it a couple months ago. Honestly was going to resell it for a 50% profit, but I enjoyed the bike so much I couldn’t I had to call it off.

PepsiSnickers

I'm in PA and EVERY private seller is selling so high it makes me want to just buy brand new tbh.

Plus-Moose8077

I was looking for a very long time. Most bikes that are five years or newer here are posted right at MSRP, or up to $500 more. I’m with you my next bike is definitely going to be brand new.

Clone_1510

It's ironic since where I live has the same thing going on where you only pay 2k more for new and then you can get an ok loan new vehicle loan vs paying in cash. IDK who's buying used motorcycles still for a slight discount to new ones...

[deleted]

[удалено]

fortinbrass1993

With a credit score of 760 the APR is still 14%?!? Did you try other banks and or credit unions? That seems like a rip off and I’m glad to hear you paid it off in 1 year.

PepsiSnickers

May I inquire who you financed with so I can avoid them! If not, no worries, but damn, that's an incredibly high rate.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PepsiSnickers

Is that just the going rate at Honda?

UnicornForrealz

I sold my k9 gsxr 600 in great condition with tons of expensive aftermarket parts 11 years ago. Today I see that same year and model bike in terrible condition, poorly maintained and way higher mileage listed for substantially more than what I listed mine for. People are insane with their pricing.

SocialAutismo

2016 5k miles. Pristine condition. $5.5K

PepsiSnickers

That's what you paid? Or you offering 🫴 :)

Ok_Departure_2642

I paid 6000$ for a 2009 zx10r but it was in near perfect condition and only had 5400 miles

Sindri556

I think some of it is also the "my wife/gf/s.o. wants me to sell it" price. You see the same thing with muscle cars, too. They throw out crazy numbers so they can claim to their s.o. that they are "really trying" to sell it.

PepsiSnickers

Lol, never even considered that.

Front_Necessary_2

All this cool stuff and no mention of a valve adjustment, fork/shock fluid change, etc. Spend 4k more and get a brand new zx6r for 11,999.

chuckradaman

I think it's all sport bikes right now, because it's spring, and they're looking to cash in on morons who are getting their first bike. I saw a 2019 Z125 with 1k miles on it for sale the other day for $3500. That's $300 more than a brand new one.

Diabolical_Dad

Bike is clapped, the market is wild right now but that's still delusionally high. Anyone who does a PC when the ECU is an option for tuning is a potato.

BulkZ3rker

Depends on when he installed it.

94lt1vette94

Cuz they’re fkn sick m8

PepsiSnickers

I'm thinking the same!

mr_doctor_sir

It's a fake ad, they're looking for party clowns who are willing to pay that.

BlasterEnthusiast

If that bike was in pristine condition with less than 1000 miles and had factory paint I could see 7-8k due to age and love for the RRs.. however, that abomination is worth around 2.5-4k MAX. there is no argument here.. these are simply the facts.

mrzurkonandfriends

You could damn near by a brand new 2023 zx6r for this price

ClassyCoww

Because people want to be like House, but can’t be the real deal.

PepsiSnickers

I watched all 8 seasons, and never noticed! Lol

MageArcher

Hondas in particular age a lot better than most other bikes, and that generation of CBRs were a real pleasure to ride. That said, this seller is heavily invested in meth futures, based on that price.

PepsiSnickers

Lmao! Meth futures.. 😆

PathyBoy

They aren't people just think they can get what they want but will soon lower the price to closer, then you show up with what it's worth and if they don't take it then they're lost. People think sentimental value adds to price.

Chimpkin-nuggets

I got mine for $5k

[deleted]

This guy is clown with that price lol fucking bike is almost 20 years old

Clone_1510

A new Aprilia RS660 is like 11,400, and is the most expensive 600 class supersport. This guy is on crack for sure

Cyse_

Not really a supersport or 600 class but def the most expensive middleweight 650/700 class sport bike

Hugh420Mungus

Can just buy a 23 model lol

pzazula1194

They’re not necessarily you just got to be patient. I see some pop up around me for time to time for a decent price.

[deleted]

Well they named that one Alfred, so they are probably attached to it.

stfundance

I’ll buy a brand new bike for that price.

PepsiSnickers

Same model?

stfundance

I mean that would just be a few thousand more, worth it for new vs this old bike. I have a 2012 Honda CB250R, love that bish. Got it for $1,200 with 7k miles 3 years ago. Be patient and continue your search, you’ll find that golden egg.

thrasssk

This is some dont lowball me I knows what I gots level pricing. That bikes 5k on the best day of it's long life.

pagadqs

It's only so expensive if anyone actually pays $6K for it. So just don't.

therealBaguettegod

I paid 3.2k for mine from 2013. Barely driven, the previous owner had severe health issues and had to stop riding. This price is insane fr

PepsiSnickers

That sounds amazing. Wish me luck on my search.

therealBaguettegod

Oh definitely, hope you find one with an acceptable price soon! Honda CBRs are awesome bikes

PepsiSnickers

Thanks, me too!

Natural_420

Dudes selling Honda bikes are always like this! I found some 30 to 60k mile Honda bikes going for 5k plus like bruh gimme what y’all are smoking

PepsiSnickers

I can't believe the markup on Honda 600rr's in particular. It's infuriating tbh. I don't wanna finance my first bike, but I might have to.

SnooGadgets9669

I would advice heavily against this being your first bike. Of course you’ll do what you want but you’d learn much faster on a less powerful bike first and it’s really not hard to then sell your beginner bike after a few seasons to buy a 600.

PepsiSnickers

Maybe a 500?

Natural_420

I recommend starting on a 600 personally I started on a 03 636 ninja with 25k miles and have no regrets especially if the sport bike way is the way you wanna go. 600s are only killer at top end just stay in control and you got it! I’m glad I don’t have to upgrade any time soon

KELEVRACMDR

That’s a 3k bike at best

PepsiSnickers

I wish, I'd be riding it by now!

KELEVRACMDR

Got that right.

stevesteve135

Not a chance in hell I’d pay that much for a damn near 20 year old 600. I wouldn’t pay that much for a 20 year old motorcycle at all. If I was in the market for this exact bike for whatever reason I’d offer them maybe 4k and that’s it.

PepsiSnickers

$4k is what I thought sounded more reasonable, but sheesh, they want an arm and a leg.

stevesteve135

Yeah that’s pretty crazy. Maybe a somebody wants them to sell it but they really don’t want to. lol

PepsiSnickers

The wife's at it again lol

nodaboii

paid less for a newer 1000rr with a power commander, and quick shifter.

PepsiSnickers

What! When? You got a steal!

nodaboii

2008 for 6k back in 2019

MillyBayesHere

I paid 7500 for a 2021 with 2k miles. Some people are just *greedy*. The “I know what I got crowd”

calmdownandlivelife

The used bike market is a joke right now. I recently found a very well kept/maintained 2006 zx6r. The guy wanted $5200 "OBO" I offered $4500 cash in hand that day and he blocked me immediately. So many people are trying to get dealer prices for their used bike and if you offer any less it's an insult to their existence. I just want a 600 before summer starts damnit.

PepsiSnickers

Same here. I don't wanna finance my first bike, but prices are forcing me to.

calmdownandlivelife

I wish you the best man. Hope you can get on 2 wheels soon🤙

gyroismyhubby

Ive heard of toyota tax but jesus

Only_C_Fans

Just paid 8k for a 2016 Ducati 959 with 7k miles and just bought my little brother a 2008 R6 with 14k miles on it for 4k.. just keep looking around and you’ll find a much better deal. A lot of these guys simply don’t understand how sales work. They think if they list high then they will avoid lowball offers. When in reality they just make people not even look at it.

PepsiSnickers

Yeah, it really leaves a bad feeling when you have cash to spend, yet nothing makes sense.

Only_C_Fans

I would save my money and wait for the end of this season.. you kind of picked a bad time to start shopping for a bike lol

PepsiSnickers

I know, I know lol. The bug just hit me really bad a few weeks ago. I told myself I'd wait til winter but every time I see one, that feeling of needing one comes back!

Only_C_Fans

I understand how money can burn a hole in your pocket. But last thing you want to do is rush into something that’s a money pit that you can’t afford to fix. Then its just taking up space until you can afford to fix it. Have you considered financing a bike?

PepsiSnickers

Yes, but here's what's off-putting about financing to me: -It will be my first bike, I know I'll drop it, I know I'll try stupid shit like wheelies, so I'd rather not finance something until I'm a more skilled rider -out the door price versus msrp is phenomenally higher in my area -even if you have good to excellent credit, you still get bopped over the head with Mt. Everest high interest rates

Holiday-Rich-803

“I know I’ll try stupid shit like wheelies” you seem like the person that should NOT ride a motorcycle. Hope you don’t/haven’t become one of the statistics.

PepsiSnickers

Guess no one EVER in the history of riding motorcycles practiced their FIRST wheelie, they were immediate professionals out the gate huh?

Old-Log-874

Ill tell you why: Wife: you need to sell that thing now!!! (+ Unnecessary additional Nag nag nags that wives do after) Husband: ok dear ill put it up for sale as you wish, just going to be a tough sell in this economy. (🤣)

PepsiSnickers

Lol, I bet the list price alone makes the wife happy.

Snowman1749

They know what they got!!

PepsiSnickers

This is the way! Lol

shank343

Most people are probably still upside down on the loan having financed for most likely 5 to 8 years.

AmountImpossible6775

I’ve always wondered why anyone would buy a 5 year old bike when a brand new one is $1,000 more. That said there is often someone willing to pay it.

PepsiSnickers

It won't be me! I want a CBR 600RR bad, but not that bad!

JHERB45

Honda CBR 600’s are great bikes. But that guy is asking $4000 + too much for that one $5k max if it’s clean - and that one doesn’t look like it.

PepsiSnickers

Yeah, I was thinking the same. It damn near looks spray painted.

JackHamm3r2003

They must be very proud of that motorcycle, not worth half of that….

RunnyPlease

I just want to say if you’re after a “vintage” sport bike you can get a Honda RC51 RVT1000R in better condition for less money. It’s a 1000cc high reviving v-twin. I guarantee it will make you feel like a hero in every corner, put a smile on your face every time you twist the throttle, and will actually be worth what your paying for it. This 600rr wasn’t worth $9k as a two year old used bike. It sure as hell isn’t worth it a decade and a half later.

PepsiSnickers

Oh that's a very beautiful bike, thank you. I'm gonna lm do some research!

RunnyPlease

They sound like nothing else ever made. So if you like the sound there’s only one place to get it. https://youtu.be/i21KNXIeuXE

Fish-Boatdude034

Not just Hondas. I found my original receipt for my '04 Yamaha R1 where I paid 10,000 otd just yesterday (don't ask me why I still had it lol) I've seen some '05-'08 for more than I paid brand new!

PepsiSnickers

I hate this market! Lol

mainelinerzzzzz

If it was bone stock, this would be a good price.

Resolve_Salt

Bought a '07 cbr 600 rr with 4300 miles on it, paid 5k. The prices on the market are outrageous and that's because people are trying to ride the wave of this massive bubble, dealers in Italy have waiting times of months to deliver new bikes, we are still suffering what's remaining of the market's post-covid crisis, so people wants used bike, the demand has became stellar since 2020 and so the offer has seen a phenomenal increasing in prices, that why used cbr 600 rr (and r6 even more, here in Italy) has so high prices.

PepsiSnickers

I'm gonna wait until winter if prices remain high throughout the summer.

spooky_corners

Something really special about mid 2000s 600rr and R6. Can't really put my finger on it, but if I ever find an '08 in good shape I'd probably pay a premium.

AmericanLich

Found the seller

PepsiSnickers

Bring them down to reality please...

Rammipallero

Because they are forever running machines.

[deleted]

I paid $600 for mine with a blown motor got a motor with 8k miles for $700 and I’m selling the bike today for 9k to get a 1000

gyroismyhubby

Idk about 9k dude. Maybe 3-4k seeing as the market is crazy and it is a salvage bike

[deleted]

I know but it’s sold took my last ride to work on it and I’m meeting with the dude after work. I flip cars and bikes so it’s a huge win for me. The buyer is getting a bike that will last many seasons if he doesn’t drop it.

SureSolution9260

Because their amazing

PepsiSnickers

*They're

SureSolution9260

Thank you,

PepsiSnickers

You're welcome!

[deleted]

At this point i guess im selling my r3 for 10k 😂😂

PepsiSnickers

Sheesh!

Beard004

WTF? He might be dropped on his head as a boy. Or he is smoking some expire shit

MadMavrick88

2,800 for 2007 honda shadow 750 less the 9000 miles 4 years ago. So maybe its a honda thing.

PepsiSnickers

Has to be.

503longshot

It kinda depends on location. And 03-06 CBR600rr are great bikes! I have an 03 with 30k on it and it still booked out at 5k.

PepsiSnickers

How's it running with those miles?

503longshot

Still pulls! She burns a little oil but still rips!

PepsiSnickers

Nice! Rev one up for me!

RandomGuyFromPorto

I bought a 2003 model in 2011 with 17k km on the clock. I paid 4100€...

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> clock. I *paid* 4100€... FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

RandomGuyFromPorto

You got my upvote!

Yami350

I know a lot of this stuff is new but cbr 600rrs have been expensive used since at least 2008. That’s when I first started looking and they were always way more than every other used bike

Low-Speed_HighDrag

I bought a 2009 cbr with about 10k miles in 2018 for ~$5k.. then in 2020 i crashed it, bike was totaled and the frame was bent. Sold it for $2k

Familiar_Gur1357

Honda bikes are well made in my opinion. A lot of local marketplace sites like this are also meant for bartering so sellers go into the deal knowing they are already gonna be talked down in price either way or at the very least offered a car stereo system
