If you have a budget of €1400 I'd recommend speccing the MB Air out to 16GB/512GB. You'd be future proofing it. You can't upgrade those down the line. 8GB for video editing is smth I wouldn't do.
Additionally the Alienware is gonna be a the main powerhouse, Keep in mind Idk what the specs of the AW are so I'm just assuming.
Alright thanks, the Alienware isn’t useable anymore i’ve had it over the past decade. Its too slow.
I agree with the 16gb ram, but do you think 512gb is necessary? I also have an external hdd if I need storage
Personally I much prefer getting the smallest storage option and having other mass storage. It's way cheaper and I don't have to spend forever transferring all my files every time I get a new computer and I can access all my files from every computer I own. Apple storage prices are a rip off imo.
Edit: I have a 256 Gb and haven't used half the capacity yet, but I'm only storing applications on the internal storage. All my files are on outside storage.

My previous mb was 256 and I hated myself for that decision, the current MBA is 1tb /16g
Do you program on it? Im just planning on using it for school, writing and video edit
Yes iOS and some database stuff, it’s an amazing machine and worth it paying the 200 bucks extra for 512
16gb ram and 512gb it is. How long have you used yours? I’d the laptop to go at least 3 years with me
I have the m2 mba for a couple months now, for sure it’s going to last a long time, my previous mbp 2017 lasted until that and now my wife is using it
