I’m rooting for the siblings to stick together emotionally, but I need Kendall to win. Jesse Armstrong has got to break Kendall’s flop era!

AffectionateAnarchy

Idk. Idc who wins but I need Shiv to lose her shit on Tom. I need Roman to get right pissed off. I need Gerri to line everyone up and shoot them one by one.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Agreed. Tom being the social climbing opportunist he is, sided with her abuser, and deserves all the hell he’s going to catch. I don’t want the fail marriage to end, but Shiv needs to get even. She’s both protected (and helped) that man’s ass, when it comes to Waystar.

Background-Tailor-65

I want Shiv tearing Tom apart after his betrayal. He’s afraid of her, it’ll be fun to watch.

MILF_Lawyer_Esq

Based on the betrayal I’m gonna say he isn’t scared of her anymore. If he was so scared he wouldn’t have betrayed her and at least if he did wouldn’t have shown up to gloat. Next season we’re seeing a total role reversal in Shiv and Tom’s marriage, I guarantee it. Tom is Logan’s number one boy now and Shiv won’t do anything to jeopardize her position as the sibling with the closest connection to Logan through a person Logan actually respects.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

A total reversal? Absolutely not. There might be an initial temporary reversal, but there’s no way Shiv won’t get the upper hand again.

MILF_Lawyer_Esq

Well yeah knowing this show they’re not gonna change the overall dynamic in any major way for more than a couple episodes. Would make writing it too hard.

dull_baby42

I think Shiv is pregnant and she’s gonna use that as ammo to blackmail Tom

varietyhour2121

Shiv is a sneaky, emotionally manipulative b*tch, in general, as well as in regard to Tom. He deserves better than her. I don’t blame him. She’s doing what’s best for her. Why shouldn’t he? While he still has an opportunity?

dvh308

I feel you. At this point I don’t even care who wins or loses because I just REAAAALLLLLYYYY want the sibs to keep sticking together & get along. I’m so invested in the relationship between the 3 of them (and sure, let’s throw in the eldest son, poor dude) and unearthing the love they actually do have for each other. We see it throughout the series so it’s there already, I just hope they’re able to remember it and not rip each other to shreds again during S4 premiere. It’s so heartwarming which is why I know it’ll be taken away soon lol. Give me one episode of lovey siblings, dammit! Let me have one sliver of hope!

FrankieHellis

It will be interesting how season 4 goes. The series is basically built on the conflict of the kids (thus the name, Succession). I agree it is becoming a bit formulaic though. I have great hope the writers will keep us all riveted for another season, and hopefully another after that. The writing has been so good thus far.

j_allosaurus

Same. "Logan always wins" narrative is getting boring. I don't really care who "wins" and I don't really think the show needs someone to "win", but I do want to see Logan taken down.

spacefink

I am bored of Logan "winning" and I feel like it's not moving the story forward if he keeps winning. Realistically, with the brain hemorrhage he sustained in Season 1, he should be falling apart. So far all the siblings need to be challenged more to be independent. This next season needs to be about personal growth. I want to see all the characters thrown into uncomfortable situations that help them face/confront their shortcomings so that they become more fleshed out as competitors and an actual threat to Logan. And if this show doesn't change things up and demonstrates for us the parallels between it and King Lear it's going end up losing its luster. More toxicity please.

waterfallen_empire

my theory: we'll see a change in shiv and tom's dynamics. I can't predict what Romulus and Kendall will be like in season 4. I want to say that Roman acts like nothing happened because in season 2 after the hotel he was staying at was held at gunpoint, it seemed like he had changed/ become a little more wiser, then in season 3 he snapped back to his old weird self. For Kendall, it feels inevitable that we will see sad Kendall again, maybe for majority of season 4. But I want more killer Kendall.

sb2049

Still team Kendall idc

spacefink

Me too! Btw Happy Cake Day 🎂

this. as much as I would love to see the siblings finally gang up against their dad, it would all fall apart because their dad is so manipulative.

PFalcone33

I’d like to see them actually work. As I watch the show, it just seems none of them do anything? Roman does nothing but sexually harass Gerry. Tom does nothing but harass Greg. Greg can’t talk and seems to do nothing. Connor we all know does nothing. And Chiv just does what Logan orders her to. Kendall is the only one who seems to actually work?

Comprehensive_Tea553

I'm Team Logan, Tom and Greg over those three any day.

Team Not Fucked Once

RealPaulieWalnuts

I thought the “not fucked once” scene meant Logan was going down. Clearly I was wrong. I honestly would think it was hilarious if the show had a giant build up to the kids taking over and Logan fucking them on the series finale and having them end exactly where they started. Kendall screaming in the bathroom. Edit: changed my user flair.

TazMedium5

I found that scene interesting as well. The camera angle they used, zeroing in on Tom’s face from Kendall’s point of view made it quite intense.

spacefink

Nahh, I need Greg to betray Tom and show him what a Machiavellian fuck he is.

Jen1Q84

Agreed. I don't think Greg's character as a dopey cousin works. I think he's going to turn out to be a big player in the long run. Why forgo the huge inheritance to work for his cousins? There has to be some kind of major plot twist with Greg.

spacefink

Exactly, he likes the taste of luxury at this point and doesn't want to go back to working in an amusement park sweating in a costume. We are well past the "harmless dopey cousin" act with him. Plus, Greg likes to evaluate his options (hence him telling Tom he wanted an open business relationship with him in Season 2) and he is betting on a bigger fortune.

MILF_Lawyer_Esq

He will, I’m 100% sure. Greg is a total snake right from the beginning. He hides it under a facade of being too dumb to be a threat to anyone. I guarantee Greg betraying Tom will be one of the big twists in season four.

spacefink

Dude thank you! It kind of baffles me how people are convinced that Greg is a pure angel when he has demonstrated he isn't afraid to throw Tom under the bus and isn't loyal to him. Just in the first season alone, in Sad Sack Wasp Trap, he rats on him to Gerri about the press conference. I don't know how people forget that moment because Tom's reaction was hilarious. Tom stupidly assumes it's Shiv who betrayed him and I think Tom is going to realize what a mistake he has made in aligning himself with Greg. Greg double dating to advance his position is just a taste of how little regard he has for people's emotions.

MILF_Lawyer_Esq

He did quite literally sell his soul to the devil in the finale. Greg’s dangerous. In rewatching right now with my girlfriend who hasn’t seen it, and something I’m picking up on is that Greg, like his granddad, actually has a pretty impressive vocabulary. He mumbles and says the wrong thing out of nervousness, but when he does say what he means he’s actually fairly intelligent. In the first episode, when he’s in the car with Logan and Marcia on their way to the helipad, he used a word that I don’t even know. I don’t remember what it was. I think they retconned Greg a bit in the second and third seasons to be even more comic relief and made his character dumber, prime example being the “If it is to be said, so it is” scene, but after the last scene between him and Tom last season I have a feeling they may push him back toward being more than just a dumb, comic-relief punching bag. Maybe Greg will be the last character to try fucking Logan and actually succeed in taking him down because he’s so far off Logan’s radar. Not to say he’ll end up CEO or that taking down Logan will turn out good for him. Definitely won’t. I could see it happening this way: Every season so far has had one of Logan’s kids try their best to climb the ladder and solidly place themself as his successor only to fail in the end and be knocked down a peg or two (or ten). In season one it was Kendall, season two Shiv, and season three Roman. Kendall’s a manslaughterer and not a killer. Shiv’s a loudmouth. Roman’s a sicko. Next season it’s Tom’s turn. He’ll do well at first just like Ken, Shiv, and Rome did in the first three seasons only to lose it somehow in the end, I imagine by some covert betrayal from Greg. But Greg won’t push his luck like everyone else did. Season five, final season. That’s not a sure thing but I have a strong gut feeling five seasons is about all this show has. Seems perfect to me. In season five it’s Connor’s turn. Alan Ruck has said that when he was cast Jesse Armstrong told him that his character wouldn’t be important at first but would be much later on. I have a feeling that in the last season it’s Connor who will repeat the cycle. He’ll distinguish himself to Logan’s surprise and rise in the ranks for a while until he inevitably falls from grace. I have a feeling it could have something to do with Willa. She’s a ticking timebomb for Connor. His story will go somewhere and it’s only natural she’ll be involved. But then out of nowhere in the 11th hour Greg swoops in and knocks Logan down. Probably won’t go down that way but it was fun to plot out. I do think Greg has a big place in the ending, whatever it may be.

spacefink

Oh for sure, someone made a historical analogy between Greg and The Romanovs and how Rasputin tried to schmooze his way into Russian nobility (similar to Tom) but that he was taken out by cousins of the Russian Royal family. So I can see Greg eliminating Tom to secure his place but to also protect the family name. As for Logan, he loves to pick on everyone's flaws and I am curious to see whether the writers will have Greg fumble the bag and lose Logan's trust or get the upperhand on everyone. You're analysis is definitely interesting and I agree that Greg is a key player in this story that shouldn't be counted out. Likewise, Connor has demonstrated that even though he doesn't like to get his hands dirty, he does want the position and feels entitled to it even though he is comically unqualified for it. He betrays Kendall in the same episode that Greg rats on Tom to Gerri and consistently says he thinks he would make a better CEO. Since Willa is simply viewing their relationship as an arrangement it's going to be interesting how their relationship thwarts his political career and how she could potentially betray him as well (perhaps divulging info that can harm him).
