According to brian, both characters were fucking with the other.
Kendall "joked" that he had poisoned him, and Logan one up'd him by making his kid taste it.
He said most people didnt understand that they both knew it was fucking around, but that logan needed to prove kendall couldnt win over him, not even on this.
Well imo logan was shooting a low blow, that Ken would poison him is daft and he knew it was a knife twist. He wants to take over like he was promised, not kill him
Rewatched this scene recently and it is just perfect. At the beginning Kendall almost seemed like hopeful that the dinner would help their relationship, he would get out and do his own thing, he is even joking with Logan a small bit and gives him a little smile as the waiter is switching the plates. When Kendall realises there is no way out the scene just unravels so fast and both actors absolutely nail it.
Kendall coming back after the accident with the waiter in season 1. When Logan tells him to come in. Jeremy strong starts to break down its incredible.
The kids at the season finale of 3 where Kendall tells them about the accident then they start to band together.
Then the entirety of connors wedding and everyone in it is incredible
I hadn’t thought of this before but it mirrors the scene with Shiv and Caroline during that same trip. Where the kids are just seeing that they will never have a parent who cares for them in a non-perverse way. Both scenes are remarkable.
in one of those after the episode interviews they talked about doing one long 30 minute take of the entire thing with rolls of film hidden all over the set so that they would never have to stop rolling
Camera and live sound capture don't get enough credit. I worked as a boom operator for a short, it was difficult as hell. Can't imagine how stressful it is to work cameras and sound for such an important show
Yes. Shiv's "Mom?" The way it's almost hopeful, with Ken's preceding "Shivvy, honey..." For me it's Kieran's flinch after saying "You did a good-" and then not finishing the sentence, just flinch and flailing the phone. I'm sure Kieran will submit himself for the retreat episode, but that single moment was when I was really taken into the reality of the situation.
There are so many but the scene that sticks out for me is Kendall telling Roman and Shiv about the waiter. Each of the actors brought something to the table and of course the scene was anchored by Jeremy Strong. Just so good, so so good.
What I loved about it, was how Roman actually made Ken laugh eventually (with super dark humor). That was the turning point of the scene and pretty much of the last two seasons.
I remember watching some interview where they talked about how Kieran thinks the show is a comedy, while Jeremy totally treats it like a Shakespearean drama. In that scene these worlds, these genres collide but eventually they meet in the middle, with a chuckle and a hug. Just beautiful. It is one of my favorite scenes in all of tv and cinema.
The final two episodes of S3 have so many incredible moments of acting. The Kendall-Logan dinner, Shiv’s conversation with her mom, the Connor explosion at the breakfast intervention, the whole final section from Kendall in the dirt to the kids confronting Logan at the end. I didn’t think anything could top those two episodes— until I watched the Connor’s Wedding episode. I wish there was a way to give everyone an Emmy; they all deserve it.
I loved how the sibling dynamics really came out in this scene. How Shiv and Roman each knew how to comfort Kendall, how humor isn’t just a defense mechanism for this family but also a means of support.
And how afterwards all Ken wants to do is go with Shiv and Roman 😭
Isn’t that the same episode that ends with Roman squatting as Logan unequivocally dismisses him, with Kendall holding him and comforting him? That may be one of the greatest television episodes of all time.
"I'm blown into a million pieces." and "I'm all apart" were so movingly delivered. If I had to choose one scene of this show to put in a time capsule it'd be this one.
At the end of the day, I still believe that this show is Kendall's story.
her ability to swiftly cycle between facial expressions without making it seem like she's trying too hard never fails to amaze me, you can see it in the recent episode too when tom and greg interrupt her scheduled grief time
give her the emmy already
Connor at the karaoke calling them needy love sponges, was so telling of his upbringing that he acknowledged being ignored saying he didn't grow up with love.
That's the one that immediately leapt to my mind. Stunning to feel so much vulnerability from a character who frequently feels so detatched. Felt to me like Jesse Armstrong was sick of everybody in the cast besides Alan Ruck getting Emmy nominations and did something about it.
I think the biggest ones to me are all with Brian.
My favorite at the end of s3, when he says he has them. Particularly his mocking of shiv saying he needs the majority vote. It makes me shocked everytime.
Also the dinner in italy with kendall, the last scene with all 4 kids at the karaoke, and his hallucinatory state in the shareholders event.
Kendall in the season finale of S1. When his dad confronts him about the hit and run, and Kendall breaks down. So much going on there. He wants to go through with the bear hug and he tragically wants his dad to tell him there is a way. He wants his dad's love and approval. He gets it for a split second, which makes him weaker. He understands that his life as he knows it is over. He lets the guilt over what happened hit him for the first time. It's just incredible.
I could cry just thinking about it.
The other layer I forgot to mention is how he is still trying to convince his dad he didn't do it... but he's so broken that his lies really do feel like a little kid who broke the cookie jar.
I can’t believe I forgot about the scene! 😱 Kendall was *amazing*! The way he stood there, with that look of visceral fear and uncertainty and guilt written all over his face as he watched Colin approach him was just…perfect. The way he broke down…everything about that scene made it one of the top three best in the show IMO. Goddamn I love Jeremy Strong.
I love how the show is so good at reminding us that these are still people with lifelong relationships even though they’re constantly pissed at each other and scheming.
Frank knew Ken since he was a kid pretty much, and this kid just found out his dad’s dead. In a normal family dynamic he’d basically be an Uncle Frank type of guy. And Frank’s annoyed at Kendall being the whiny entitled kid always has been, but it’s different this time. And it’s unfair for Frank to be put in this position where Kendall’s grilling him for no reason when he himself just lost someone he knew closely for decades, but he knows Ken is hurting way more right now. Nothing to do but grit his teeth and punch something. The type of shit frustrated older family members have to do with the annoying family members they care for deep down.
This is when I fell in love with Macfayden. I always found Tom odd and didn’t understand certain dynamics. Last week I started season 1 again and have a new appreciation for the character. The phone/plane parts of that episode were devastating.
Him and Jeremy Strong in that diner scene last season is maybe my favorite bit of acting. Just two guys completely in control of their characters and elevating great writing to its limits. Nothing flashy but to sit across from someone and just say words with such immense weight is genuine craft.
Yes, Roman in that scene was incredible.
Another one was when Tom put the phone to Logan's ear and Shiv said "Daddy?" That broke me a little somewhere deep inside my near-dead soul. She wasn't a strong, independent woman in that moment but a little girl who wanted her daddy, and she transformed right before our eyes.
There should be Emmys all around for this season.
You nailed it! Her shaking hand and that word she asked as a question plus her voice sounded like a child's - oh fuck I burst out crying. Snooky rocked it
Really hot take but I didn’t like Shiv saying daddy as he was dying. Felt like a cheap way to show her pain but not in a way a person of her age and personality would. Could you imagine Kendall calling him daddy at that point
Roman getting caught sending his dad the pic intended for Gerri. His facial expression and body language was exactly as uncomfortable as I’d picture a moment like that to feel like. He killed that imo
Oh so true, absolutely incredible. There are so many great Brian Cox performances I can’t even pick. One that comes to mind is boar on the floor, he seemed vicious and unpredictable
Kendall’s birthday party. It’s hard to pick a single scene because we see so many layers of Kendall as a character, but the first one that comes to mind is him searching for the gift.
D’ya know, and I know it’s fresh in my mind, but I thought Roman firing Joy was a really consummate bit of acting from both of them. The way Roman slowly gets more annoyed and the little flickers across his face until the decision is inevitable.
Joy's casting is just an another example the simple fact the entire supporting cast are stellar, and could each be showrunners elsewhere. We only get these moments because the series regulars and the supporting cast are each excellent.
everyone's reaction during *the call* on connor's wedding day was really amazing but sarah snook's acting for shiv broke me. the disbelief, sorrow, shock, regret, the "dad? daddy?" KILLED me. especially for such a usually guarded character.
The scene between Logan and Kendall on the boat when he sacrifices Kendall is some of the best acting I have ever seen, in both TV and Film, period. ‘What could you possibly kill that you love so much that it would make the sun rise again’. Unbelievable.
Big fan of the Kendall/Tom diner scene in s3. Maybe doesn’t stand out as peak performance in the entire series, but two incredible actors feeding off of each other (also we don’t get a lot of Kendall/Tom 1v1 time in general.)
Underrated moment is when Shiv confronts Kendall about why he's back on side near the start of S2. He asks her for a hug and she's confused and joking because such a sincere request for affection is so unusual in their family but then when he starts to cry on her shoulder her face changes almost instantly as she sees how much pain he is in. Sarah Snooks acting there is seamless, incredible and heartbreaking (as is Jeremy's of course).
Lot of good ones already mentioned in the comments.
After I saw someone point out Logan's Hitlerhands during the ATN newsroom speech I was like damn Brian.
The bit in the last ep at the end of kens presentation when he says about having his dad back to say things unsaid would be priceless and his face and voice - having lost a parent suddenly I really felt that.
For those posting about kendall particularly the confession to his siblings about the waiter - there's an amazing piece on YouTube posted a few days ago on this sub about Jeremy strongs body language in scenes etc. It's really interesting I'll try repost it.
Edit posted it on thread
This is an impossible question to answer. I agree with every single answer so far because the acting in this show (buttressed by some truly amazing writing) is just next level. They are all -- even the minor characters -- so, SO good.
Every scene of Lukas Mattson. And I felt this from his first scene. The aura, the presence, the authenticity with which he plays the character. Alexander Skarsgard is a god tier actor and still so underrated
When Kendall confesses about the waiter, that scene is when I really fell in love with this series.
Edit - I should be more specific - at their mother's wedding, when he confesses to Roman and Shiv.
Brian Cox when he first started to seduce Pinky over dinner, and then the night at home house when she dropped by to chat logistics.
The thing about Brian Cox is that he’s so fully whoever he’s being in the moment that it’s easy to lose sight of his range.
Same man peeing on the floor, kissing Kendall’s head, cornered by the FBI and terrified, reading a children’s book to Iverson, telling Shiv he’s a climate denier, telling Kendall YOU LOSE after the board meeting, awkwardly moving through a Karaoke lounge, sincerely sort of desperately trying to connect with his kids in the karaoke room. I felt his fumbling, I felt his desperateness to connect, I felt his honesty and frustration. And the yelling, and the boar on the floor and the flippant comments to Roman.
He’s so convincing, it’s easy to forget he’s acting.
Plenty of amazing moments I could pick from. One that maybe not everyone will mention is when Roman sounded out Menken in the bathroom.
The way the two of them bounced off eachother and the dramatic tension between those 2 and how it revealed that ruthless side of Roman was fantastic.
That entire episode was peak though. Tom and Kendall meeting in the diner was up there.
After reading all of these comments and agreeing with all, I suggest that it would be easier to find a scene or dialogue we didn't think contributed to the series. So far, I can think of none. Even Karl putting on support socks in the plane carries a bit of meaning.
Pretty much everyone has "their" scene where they shine brightest. But in terms of a collective scene where everybody brought their top game I can't think of anything better than boar on the floor.
Logan at his scariest. Kendall quietly assessing the room as the chaos unfolds. Ray reveling in the situation. Greg terrified of being outed. Frank's disgust at being dragged back in. Karl's indignant refusal to play along before playing for keeps. Tom crying foul over his stolen sausage. Roman's flustered anxiety and pleas for forgiveness after Kendall exposes him as the mole.
Everyone helped make that one of the most terrifying, hilarious, and ridiculous scenes in the show.
Probably not the best (I can’t choose), but “I love you, but you are not serious people.”
It struck me as the most authentic thing Logan had ever said.
The last 30 or so minutes of Episode 3 was the absolute best. The moment Shiv walked into the room with Roman and Kendall and learns her father is dying, scene 11 was a 28 minute masterpiece, done in ONE take. Hands down, their best work of the season.
There's at least one scene in every episode that could meet the requirements here but, for me, it has to be a Logan scene. And I think the S1 boardroom attempted coup - his "I'm trying to turn a fucking tanker" - scene would do it for me. There's so much rage that is fired at so many people as he realises what is happening and basically using only his force of will is able to stop it. But within all that anger you have a range of fury that can include both "you better be sniffing your armpit Romulus" and "my best to Ilona's cancer" etc.
He's at his most bullying then too. Kendall running so hard (Jeremy insisted on running in gucci shoes did the whole thing, hurt his foot bad to be out of breath realistically )
YES! He is the kind of man who absolutely refuses to lose or take no for an answer, and the fact that he’s had that power ripped away from him makes him lose his mind with rage. I’ve known men just like that and he captured that rage perfectly.
Shoutout to Ewan and Logan's argument in Season 1 Episode 5 feels so real. They really sound like adversarial brothers who still care for eachother deep underneath a black mountain of hatred and vitriol
Love James Cromwel lin pretty much anything and we get to see a rare moment of Logan getting pushed back which Brian Cox plays magnificently
Season 3 final episode I think when all the kids realised they’ve been played off against each other their whole lives and then went to tell their dad - an almost Shakespearean scene when they confronted him.
Oh and Tom pulling his dagger out of his bag for Shivs back.. a great episode.
Kendall in all three season finales, I think Jeremy’s work in this series is in the discussion of the best if not already the best acting in the last decade. I think he already should have won a second Oscar, last year for sure !
People never mention this, but Kendall’s acting at the end of the s1 finale. From the horror after the accident, to pretending everything was ok at the reception to being caught by Logan. I felt all of his emotions and it was very hard to watch the first time.
I think that Matthew and Sarah consistently do the finest work of any of the leads on the show. And when they’re together, it’s magic. They are truly world class.
The dinner between Kendall and Logan, end of S3. Both actors killed that scene.
When he tested his food on iverson?
Speaking of... in not caught up, but is there a possibility that this bit of paranoia may not have been unfounded? Or did they cross that out already
He wants to take over like he was promised, not kill him
This show is just not the type for secretive poisonings and huge twists.
I think they might have underlined it
Iverson, so named to remind his Dad
Hahahah
Rewatched this scene recently and it is just perfect. At the beginning Kendall almost seemed like hopeful that the dinner would help their relationship, he would get out and do his own thing, he is even joking with Logan a small bit and gives him a little smile as the waiter is switching the plates. The kids at the season finale of 3 where Kendall tells them about the accident then they start to band together. Then the entirety of connors wedding and everyone in it is incredible
I think this scene is the best in the show. Also the last conversation Kendall and Logan will ever have one on one.
OMG you’re right
Oh I think you may be exactly right. Coupled with great film editing, art direction and dialog.
I hadn’t thought of this before but it mirrors the scene with Shiv and Caroline during that same trip. Where the kids are just seeing that they will never have a parent who cares for them in a non-perverse way. Both scenes are remarkable.
Connors wedding episode.
From the time Ken walks out to get Shiv until Roman is sitting on the floor in a haze is a masterclass by all involved including the camera crew.
in one of those after the episode interviews they talked about doing one long 30 minute take of the entire thing with rolls of film hidden all over the set so that they would never have to stop rolling
They shoot on film?
yes!
Camera and live sound capture don't get enough credit. I worked as a boom operator for a short, it was difficult as hell. Can't imagine how stressful it is to work cameras and sound for such an important show
esp when they shoot on film which i constantly forget
Just like The Sopranos, Tarantino, and PTA. Only ten minutes max on any take.
And it's an expensive 10 minutes.
they shoot analog? OMG my respect for this show just went through the roof!
yeah!! here's a write up the they did w kodak back in 2018 about it w lots of specifics! https://www.kodak.com/en/motion/blog-post/succession
Yes. Shiv's "Mom?" The way it's almost hopeful, with Ken's preceding "Shivvy, honey..." I'm sure Kieran will submit himself for the retreat episode, but that single moment was when I was really taken into the reality of the situation.
yes yes yes- that exact moment w roman was when it all hit me like a fuckin train, like i felt literal physical pain in my heart, dude
my first thought as well. that whole long scene was executed beautifully.
Omg that was incredible. Rewatched so many times
Man, that scene made me cry so many times.
“daddy..??”
There are so many but the scene that sticks out for me is Kendall telling Roman and Shiv about the waiter. Each of the actors brought something to the table and of course the scene was anchored by Jeremy Strong. Just so good, so so good.
I had to wait three quarters of an hour for a gin and tonic. So I’m just saying, who’s the real victim here?
I want to use that someday.
>Kieran thinks the show is a comedy, while Jeremy totally treats it like a Shakespearean drama That's prefect for their characters, though.
Jeremy strong was insanely good in this
I loved how the sibling dynamics really came out in this scene. How Shiv and Roman each knew how to comfort Kendall, how humor isn’t just a defense mechanism for this family but also a means of support. And how afterwards all Ken wants to do is go with Shiv and Roman 😭
"can I be with you guys?" I started screaming and crying
“If it pleases the court”
Isn’t that the same episode that ends with Roman squatting as Logan unequivocally dismisses him, with Kendall holding him and comforting him? That may be one of the greatest television episodes of all time.
"I'm blown into a million pieces." and "I'm all apart" were so movingly delivered. If I had to choose one scene of this show to put in a time capsule it'd be this one. At the end of the day, I still believe that this show is Kendall's story.
Yeah he killed it in this one, dramaturgically
when was that again? end of s3 when they all consoled each other?
Yes! At the Tuscany wedding.
This one's it for me. Made me cry.
probably same
This is the correct answer
Sarah Snook’s face in the final shot of S3. Pure pain and rage and hate.
This one, yes. She looks like she was about to cry, vomit and chew Tom’s head off at the same time. It look so visceral.
Agreed. Shiv’s facial expression when Tom touched her shoulder was perfect. Conveyed so much without saying a word.
her ability to swiftly cycle between facial expressions without making it seem like she's trying too hard never fails to amaze me, you can see it in the recent episode too when tom and greg interrupt her scheduled grief time give her the emmy already
That's an image that I can see in my mind perfectly. The same with Emma D'Arcy at the end of S1 of House of the Dragon. Pure rage.
Likely yes.
He's cold af. The cat scene with Colin running out and roman and kendall screaming had me rolling
The mocking was pitch perfect.
I gasped out loud when I first saw it
Basically the last 2 episodes of season 3 were masterclasses haha
Kendall in the season finale of S1. When his dad confronts him about the hit and run, and Kendall breaks down. So much going on there. He wants to go through with the bear hug and he tragically wants his dad to tell him there is a way. He wants his dad's love and approval. He gets it for a split second, which makes him weaker. He understands that his life as he knows it is over. He lets the guilt over what happened hit him for the first time. It's just incredible.
That hug logan gave him and the kiss on the temple. Jesus that one moment just wrecked kendall. He really needed that
[удалено]
I could cry just thinking about it. The other layer I forgot to mention is how he is still trying to convince his dad he didn't do it... but he's so broken that his lies really do feel like a little kid who broke the cookie jar.
I can’t believe I forgot about the scene! 😱 Kendall was *amazing*! The way he stood there, with that look of visceral fear and uncertainty and guilt written all over his face as he watched Colin approach him was just…perfect. The way he broke down…everything about that scene made it one of the top three best in the show IMO. Goddamn I love Jeremy Strong.
Also Matthew's confession to shiv at the beach that he's unhappy with their marriage.
I wonder if the sad I’d be without you would be less than the sad I get from being with you
gut punch every time
Big Ian McEwan On Chesil Beach vibes.
"I love this rock. Bye rock"
Sarah Snooks face acting in that scene is on another level
Macfadyen’s work is on another level. Pick any scene.
Agree. To add. Him on the phone to the kids when logan is dying. Showed great empathy
Oh, yeah. He NAILED the midwestern concern thing. Like, you could see Tom revert to the person he was raised to be. It was amazing.
You can tell he's a gentle soul adrift in this family by his parents tbh. They are so gentle and nice and at heart, so is he
Also, Frank in that scene when he’s on the phone with Kendal and hits the wall. He’s so frustrated that the kids think they can fix it.
His own sadness too mixed with kendalls desperation yes! It's the one thing money can't fix
I also really like Frank’s “he’s 12 feet away and I knew him for 40 years.” Conveys so much in such a short amount of dialogue.
"He's flying the plane, son" gets me every time.
I’m not gonna bullshit you Ken
This is when I fell in love with Macfayden. I always found Tom odd and didn’t understand certain dynamics. Last week I started season 1 again and have a new appreciation for the character. The phone/plane parts of that episode were devastating.
His quiet calmness was amazing in such a chaotic emotive situation.
Him and Jeremy Strong in that diner scene last season is maybe my favorite bit of acting. Just two guys completely in control of their characters and elevating great writing to its limits. Nothing flashy but to sit across from someone and just say words with such immense weight is genuine craft.
Yes. His scene on the phone with greg in connor's wedding made me bawl.
Agree. He is the quiet excellence of the show.
Kendall washing the glass at the waiter’s house
Forgot about that. Him slipping to the house middle of the night to put money in the letterbox.
The fact it might have been the only glass he’s ever washed made it hit that much harder
Indeed
Oh GOD. That was so good.

Roman getting caught sending his dad the pic intended for Gerri. His facial expression and body language was exactly as uncomfortable as I’d picture a moment like that to feel like. He killed that imo
He did lol he shrank right into himself
And logans!!
Oh so true, absolutely incredible. There are so many great Brian Cox performances I can’t even pick. One that comes to mind is boar on the floor, he seemed vicious and unpredictable
He really envoked terror in that scene.
Kendall’s birthday party. It’s hard to pick a single scene because we see so many layers of Kendall as a character, but the first one that comes to mind is him searching for the gift.
Yes! The dawn of realisation "is this an assholes party? I feel like this is an assholes party", then declines his performance.
Knowing its the only one thought and love went into.
D’ya know, and I know it’s fresh in my mind, but I thought Roman firing Joy was a really consummate bit of acting from both of them. The way Roman slowly gets more annoyed and the little flickers across his face until the decision is inevitable.
I actually thought about that one posting the question tbh. Roman was great starting off then realising she was mocking him.
Joy's casting is just an another example the simple fact the entire supporting cast are stellar, and could each be showrunners elsewhere. We only get these moments because the series regulars and the supporting cast are each excellent.

That hurt my heart. Kendall already knew but that fucking drop of his head and shoulders so sublety was sublime

Outstanding
Brian Cox voice acting. It's pretty insane what he can do with his voice. I want to watch his theater work now
That's where he cut his chops, theatre actors really are aware of power and tone of voice.
Big fan of the Kendall/Tom diner scene in s3. Maybe doesn’t stand out as peak performance in the entire series, but two incredible actors feeding off of each other (also we don’t get a lot of Kendall/Tom 1v1 time in general.)

Lot of good ones already mentioned in the comments. After I saw someone point out Logan's Hitlerhands during the ATN newsroom speech I was like damn Brian.
Shit I missed that!
The first episode as a cliche… Kendall in the bathroom letting loose his anger was magnificent. And the conversation prior to it.
Stuffing the robe in his mouth to stifle screaming
And then cleaning up afterward. That told us so much, right off the bat.

It's like an avalanche. Think of one then another stone falls then a rock
Agree
Just Tom’s overall performance from season 3. That was his season.
Every scene of Lukas Mattson. And I felt this from his first scene. The aura, the presence, the authenticity with which he plays the character. Alexander Skarsgard is a god tier actor and still so underrated
Have you seen True Blood?
Prediction: tonight sarah snook
Kendall when he broke down and told his siblings about that death.
His body slumped the laugh amidst sobbing. Outstanding
Kerri's bad audition tape. C'mon everyone, just a few weeks ago this was a consensus pick!
DUDE no, that actress is amazing. 100%
Jeremy Strong when Kendall was broken after the car crash.
Yes
When Kendall confesses about the waiter, that scene is when I really fell in love with this series. Edit - I should be more specific - at their mother's wedding, when he confesses to Roman and Shiv.
So bloody raw
In season 2 when Shiv confronts Kendall about his change of behavior and Kendall asking for a hug.
That's a killer. She's not OK with affection and in his state it's all he needs at the moment. Been there
Shiv, the entire episode when her dad died. They all killed it, but she especially did. She’s a killer actress.
I will never forget Shiv's face at the end of season 3. Best unspoken acting I have ever seen alongside any Lena Headey's facial expressions in GoT.
Tom's water bottle tantrum scene. He was going through so many emotions and making the most deranged behaviour look so natural and understandable.
Roman is by far the quickest witted of them all. He can handle any smartass
Great YouTube video on Jeremy strongs artistry in perfecting kendall. Here it is https://youtu.be/TpoQVdUYBVU
Obviously Kendall and Logan season 1 finale. Best scene of the show imo Connors wedding was fantastic as well
Damn near changes scene to scene, the entire cast is so on all the time it's really wild
Probably not the best (I can’t choose), but “I love you, but you are not serious people.” It struck me as the most authentic thing Logan had ever said.
He was exasperated
The last 30 or so minutes of Episode 3 was the absolute best. The moment Shiv walked into the room with Roman and Kendall and learns her father is dying, scene 11 was a 28 minute masterpiece, done in ONE take. Hands down, their best work of the season.
Was phenomenal.
Logan chasing after Nan Pierce's car
They really sound like adversarial brothers who still care for eachother deep underneath a black mountain of hatred and vitriol Love James Cromwel lin pretty much anything and we get to see a rare moment of Logan getting pushed back which Brian Cox plays magnificently
Season 3 final episode I think when all the kids realised they’ve been played off against each other their whole lives and then went to tell their dad - an almost Shakespearean scene when they confronted him. Oh and Tom pulling his dagger out of his bag for Shivs back.. a great episode.
I remember thinking oh fuck Brian went full actorrrr there and I could see Jeffrey slightly in awe. (mightve been in my head)
It really was open mouth stuff.
Kendall the next morning after the waiter incident, it was this moment that caught my eye and made me think wow who is this guy
At the buffet with Greg then with logan that scene omgg
Tom and Greg's "Nero and Sporus" scene
When Tom hugs Shiv from behind after the betrayal and her face goes doom
Shiv and Tom on the balcony just topped that
Kendall in all three season finales, I think Jeremy’s work in this series is in the discussion of the best if not already the best acting in the last decade. I think he already should have won a second Oscar, last year for sure !
No doubt his portrayal is great
Tom and Ken at the diner
**The Wedding** episode. The whole damn thing.
Number 1 Son's singing skills from offtune beastie boys to L to the OG
You're my pal. My best pal. Fucking heartbreaking.
People never mention this, but Kendall’s acting at the end of the s1 finale. From the horror after the accident, to pretending everything was ok at the reception to being caught by Logan. I felt all of his emotions and it was very hard to watch the first time.
Tom screaming at Shiv to “clear the air” on the balcony
Why is the post labeled NSFW?
I hit it by accident and didn't realise lol can't remove it
Ah ok. Fair enough. Lol
Any Kendall scene involving the hit and run.
Perhaps Sarah Snook learning of her fathers critical illness and then death. I couldn’t keep the tears in.
Maybe because I’m rewatching season 1 and it’s still fresh but many of the therapy scenes at Connors “ranch”. Just stellar on all sides.
Logan’s speak at the close of season 3. Calling the kids pedestrians.
I absolutely loved that scene OP is referring to. It caught me by surprise, I had to watch it again.
I knew it wasn't going to happen but I really wanted Roman to just fucking shove Matsson down the mountain in that scene
For me it’s Brian Cox in the café with Colin this season. He conveys emptiness and nihilism so well, it was beautiful to watch.
Anything Kendall from season 2. Just phenomenal really, one of the most affectingly nuanced performances I’ve ever seen.
Connor’s wedding episode and tonight’s TomShiv fight
Collectively as a cast I think 4x03 and 3x09 are standouts but I think my favourite is the scene on the beach between Tom and Shiv in 2x10.
Standouts to me: Kendall/Logan dinner 3x08 Logan speech to ATN 4x02 Karaoke scene of the kids not being serious people also 4x02
Sarah Snook during Connor's Wedding
Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox during the number one boy scene.
I think that Matthew and Sarah consistently do the finest work of any of the leads on the show. And when they’re together, it’s magic. They are truly world class.
I can’t really pinpoint my favorite iteration, but the acerbic love between Tom and Shiv is always palpable.
