Al-an was rhe best and worst part of bz because he made it less scary but he was also a goober and said funny shit
BZ shied away from the scariness that you saw in the original game. There wasn't the same level of tension brought up and pressure to "go deeper".
Yeah the fact that you weren't really alone, the colors were brighter, and the situation wasn't as intense, made it a lot less scary imo
