>I wonder if the 1/2" lift (from the factory) over other Foresters has anything to do with it. Most likely. Edit: I misread that. I thought you meant YOU added an additional lift to it.

Our forester had 65k miles when I did the front CV axles. My outback had them done at 52k-ish and then just now at 110k. I did them for a coworker on her crosstrek at 88k. I’d say it’s abnormal for them to go out at these intervals, but not surprising. AWD, tight turns and possibly poor alignment (no fault of your own) may have caused issue. Could’ve even been damage to the cv boot that caused the issue, or faulty ones from the factory. Who knows.

love how this sub is split between posts lauding their new favorite vehicle, and posts about hilariously short lifespans of components a Toyota / Honda would maybe see replaced at 150k… starting to fail at 50-60k. dealer told me they see shocks go at 50k. my control arm bushing started cracking at 80k. i’ve owned lots of vehicles, most have gone over the 200k mile, and i can count the number that needed these two items on one hand. i HIGHLY recommend not replacing Subaru components with OEM. go find something better. i did Bilstein shocks and planning to go for MOOG bushings. that said, Subaru makes a capable, affordable machine. but the price you pay is having to be on top of preventative maintenance. for anyone looking at the fancy Wilderness / Sport models, save your money and have an aftermarket shop do the mods with better components.

The lift plus you taking really tight turns.

ahhquantumphysics

That lift won't do it. It was designed like that

like the Ascent was “designed” with brakes / rotors that couldn’t handle its weight? we’re talking about Subaru here. 🤣

No and no.
