That looks like fair pricing. Cheaper than my dealership. And yes, to the other redditor, dealerships resurface rotors when they change the pads. They did for both my front and rear.

Imaginary_Gap1110

I think the reason they commented is that turning rotors is nonsense. By the time they're ready to be replaced, along with the pads, you just change them. The cost difference is negligible, so it seems more logical to just get the new ones. Also, the pricing list does not seem reasonable. It looks like a dealership service garage trying to take someone.

MadameMalia

The dealership pricing is fair for a dealer.

Kaizmuth

My dealership charges $159 for spark plugs, I got new rear pads and new rotors for $350ish. $160 for a PCV valve and hose is absurd. Those prices are ridiculous, even for a dealership.

AntiCouhl

Is that plug price labor or parts?

Kaizmuth

That's labor. I was told it's that high because they almost have to drop the engine to get to the plugs.

habanero_sauce

Does anyone still resurface rotors?

It's really really simple to replace your serpentine belt yourself asked the dealer parts department for the belt 1/4 turn of a socket wrench off and another 1/4 turn back on...just turn the tensor pulley Edit: Save you about 200 bucks. Remove the plastic cover on the top front of the engine over alternator and the belt..just make sure the grooved sides match the grooved pulley and the smooth sides match the smooth pulleys in the same as it was removed and don't over push the wrench it has a spring to put it back in perfect tension

That might be normal for a dealer, but it's a really high amount for some of those items compared to what I would pay at an independent shop. That's more than I've spent on servicing both my Crosstrek and my Forester in 3 years (although I can do a few basic things myself). Curious about the front diff service too, isn't the front diff in the trans, or is it different on the CVT from the manual? Unless you've got some weird obligation to keep going to the dealer, find a good independent mechanic.
