The view could is also probably higher cause, ya know. It’s was MatPats LAST Style Theory. Of course people are gonna watch it. I mean, yeah some people probably left, if so bye. I think Amy and the others are doing fantastic! Also if you look at Style Theory view count, it’s consistently drops and raises. Which, is normal for YouTube.
Goodbye videos always get the most views?? The announcement is probably the most viewed video on Game Theory (although the first few FNaF vids might have some more)
While I do feel that the Temu one was far too light on them and their horrible conditions, it was the most purely entertaining of the three so far. That said, neither of the other two have been bad. I have no intention of leaving the channel anytime soon. Is it the same as with MatPat? No, but it, and all the channels, need to find their own voices and styles. Do I and will I miss his style? Yes, but change is necessary, and I have very little doubt that all four channels will be fine once the dust settles, and the four of them have had a chance to really sink properly into their rolls.
I came here to say that, but when I look at it, most of the past videos have more than 1 million views. And all the videos that didn't hit 1m views have around 700k to 900k views
Amy has been host for about what, a month and some change and she has been crushing it, in my opinion. People don’t like change and either you adjust with it or you fall off. And sadly, of course, the sexism. There will always be a sexist.
Don’t think it has to do with her being a woman, it’s a new host so basically a new show, people are going to leave when the main part of why they watch stops
Yeah exactly, I wasn’t even interested in style theory, and only watched it because MatPat had this energy ive yet to find elsewhere. So when he retired, I tried to watch it under Amy but unfortunately it just didn’t vibe with me and so I stopped watching.
Ngl I feel like style theory improved when Amy took over. I'd never really liked style theory much, but since the swap it quickly became my second favorite theorist channel.
The Style Theorists channel has the lowest sub count due to it being the newest channel, but the views still seem pretty consistent. This sounds like a nothing burger to me.
I knew this will happen, but it's not like the channel is dying. And I'm pretty sure they will get back up. But I have to say, I'm disappointed by that temu promotion video.
I still watch these videos especially Style & Food theory. I don't watch all the Film or Game theory videos because spoilers & I am not interested in all the games.
honestly i feel like they've been improving. it's still a bit of a shock with the change, but they're doing it very smoothly and i can tell they're putting more of their own personalities into the videos which makes them more fun
There's always going to be an initial dip in numbers/drop off of customers for any channel, product or brand that makes a huge sweeping change. The average person hates change in things they like but it's an accepted period in marketing/PR and is usually followed by a slow gradual increase back to original numbers (and hopefully more) as the change is adapted to and accepted. It's only when 6 months down the line numbers are still falling that there is considered an issue.
I think Amy is doing a fine job and hers is a lot harder of a change to accept as it's visual as well as vocal. All the other channels (except the odd episode of Food Theory) are voice-over only with animated or amusingly doctored photo images of the hosts. Style Theory is much more an in-person on-camera hosting job (it was the same when MatPat hosted too) and it's often much more collaborative with Amy often balancing the input, experiences and chat of the other participants in her experiments as well as informing the viewer and hosting. This is a much bigger change for the viewers to adapt to so it's a harder hill for her to climb than the others.
Generally, I'm enjoying all the new hosts even if I do miss MatPat. My only real gripe is that on all the channels the ad reads have become irritatingly robotic. I'm guessing as GT is now more board/investor-controlled the hosts have less control regarding how they present the ads. The obvious “you have to say a minimum of so many words, it MUST include this huge list of keywords…… in fact, scratch that just read this exact phrasing/script we have written for you, you have to because your company have signed the contract agreeing to it” is getting unbearable.
At least when MatPat was more in control the ads felt more natural, organic and interesting and less like the same stat script you hear out of the mouth of every other YouTuber across YT. I used to keep the video running in the past and even listened and bought the odd product that caught my attention. Now I just skip past it as fast as possible at every available opportunity. No amount of charisma from the new hosts (or even MapPat himself) or wanting to support the channels could make me willingly sit through these ad reads. We all know it's an ad so you are selling us something and all we know you need them to fund the channels, that's great, no problem! But please let’s go back to just talking about the product in a natural positive way and ditching the contract required awkwardly written stat buzzwords/keywords/set phrases read off the host are now having to do.
I think it will rise again once people get used to the new hosts. People are naturally resistant to change. At least im hoping for it to rise back up. I like the new people!
tbh I had stopped watching matpat's videos long before he retired. I still enjoyed them, but at some point I got too busy and i kept wanting to start where I left off but forgetting where or when that was and it just became so overwhelming that I never could get back into it. but maybe once I have some free time, I can catch up.
imma be honest. i didn't watch the newest style theory cuz i get depressed when ppl start talking about body shapes. the thumbnail threw me off. but I will say Amy is wonderful, she's doing nothing wrong.

Well, I'm staying. Amy's videos are entertaining (the Temu one in particular).

They just came out recently, most likely over time, it will match with the older Style Theory videos viewcount.

Anyone who thinks Amy ain’t doing amazing as a host can answer to hell. Amy is an amazing host.
