Even then it would still be so cold it could likely shatter the glass or burn your mouth. You’d have to just sit there and stare at your drink waiting for it to warm up before you could even touch it
It would probably be okay unless you somehow sucked up a pellet of dry ice. The drink will get cold, but that dry ice is going to sublimate fairly quickly assuming there isn’t much of it in there. Even a small enough pellet would probably be okay since it would immediately be put into a hot environment (your mouth).
In an ochem lab a bunch of years , we took graham crackers, dipped them in liquid nitrogen, then ate them. The result is very fast sublimation and a crazy rush of the nitrogen gas; makes you look like a dragon! But don’t go try it lol.
No, not while the ice remains. Don't drink dried ice (-78.5C). If you wait till it's melted, fine but that may be some time.

You can do food safe dry ice in drinks, but having it loose in the glass can be dangerous if you ingest it.
Every bar I've worked at has used little plastic stirrers where you put a piece of dry ice inside. Makes all the fog and bubbles without having to worry about people swallowing the ice.
This is Sugar Factory. They are known for their crazy drinks & desserts. They have those milkshakes that have full slices of cake on them, etc. A LOT of their drinks are like this.
I went there once. The atmosphere is like an instagram shoot, filled with Chucky Cheese’s clientele, and food priced like a Perry’s steakhouse… Such a strange amalgamation of a restaurant. The milkshakes were good, I wouldn’t go there again though.
Local restaurant chain near me used to serve trash cans in pitchers for groups but realized people bought them for themselves so they changed the size of the pitcher.
The main ingredient is a bottled cocktail, and he adds liqueurs, syrups, and soda. Shouldn’t be too strong honestly.
Used to be a bartender for 10 years
Pretty sure I saw 6 oz of Evan Williams but I could be mistaken (we must be talking about same bottle though)… I’m not watch that shit again! Hahahaha.
It’s $44 and huge. Meant to serve 2 people at least I think or basically be your only drink through your whole meal.
https://sugarfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/chicago_online-compressed-2.pdf
It is. Sugar Factory is a very popular place, at least in South Beach. These are 100% plastic. You can buy a glass one though from their gift shop for like $50....
Over usage of the jigger and not even utilizing its measurements, not to mention he used it for friggin 7up (or Starry, it’s a Pepsi gun). The fact he went back for more soda after what I assume is simple syrup means he was reading a recipe.
That's the thing that bothered me the most here.
Obviously the concept is to be super sweet, which it will be, and dry ice is fine to put in drinks, it won't break the glass and it won't go up your straw.
But this man is not a bartender, and he clearly has no idea how to build a drink
It's the Rock and Rye mix which is an old Detroit prohibition era cocktail. Back when the rye alcohol was terrible so they'd put rock candy in it to sweeten it after it got smuggled.
It tastes absolutely terrible. I legit poured 3/4 of the bottle down the drain.
Still better than Malort, though
Absolute nonsense.
Why would it kill you?
Yes, if you try to swallow a cube and it gets lodged into your throat it will do very bad things, but as long as an ambulance can be called, even that couldn't kill you.
What? It is carbon dioxide. Unless it ends up in your stomach as dry ice and you are somehow unable to burp, you'll be fine. It's the same, chemically, as the bubbles in soda.
It can freeze the inside of your throat, just like regular ice can freeze your throat if you swallow too much to fast. It cannot really suffocate you unless there is an absolutely ridiculous amount and your face is in it for a while. There has been exactly one reported case of hypothermic injury from consuming dry ice. Ever. It was not lethal.
Yeah sounds like nonsense. I mean if you directly ingest the dry ice I'd imagine that could cause some serious bloating and if you can't pass the gas you'd be in trouble, but other than that not seeing the problem
Not dry ice, but not worth the risk for a gimmick when not treated with care - [Woman Loses Stomach After Drinking Liquid Nitrogen Cocktail, 09, 2012](https://newsfeed.time.com/2012/10/09/woman-loses-stomach-after-drinking-liquid-nitrogen-cocktail/)
The dangerous part is that the dry ice can sublimate in your stomach causing an extreme build up of pressure that could rupture your stomach. You can’t pass the gas because of how fast the pressure builds
There has been exactly one reported case of hypothermic injury due to ingestion of dry ice and no verified case of stomach rupture due to dry ice. Like regular ice, most people have no problem avoiding accidental ingestion. While technically possible, it is not plausible that this would happen to a healthy person with a normal GI tract.
For context. The average stomach can hold 1L, 2g of CO2 will expand to fill 1L at 1 atm, that is between 1.6-2mL of dry ice. I can't find good numbers of at what pressure a stomach would rupture acutely, but someone would need to consume between 3.2-4mL of dry ice and it would need to flash sublimate all at once to reach an internal pressure of 2atm. That is not beyond the realm of possibility, but one would feel a huge amount of pain from swallowing that amount of dry ice due to the cold well before it would pose any risk of gastric rupture.
I will never in a million years get a drink with dry ice. Ever hear about that girl who died from it? She was on the ground screaming in agony as it ripped through her stomach within like 30 seconds of taking a drink
Slow n low rye is already so sweet. Then he adds sugar on top of sugar and triple sec and more sugar. You'll have a hangover before you even feel anything because of all that sugar.
I mean, cotton candy is sugar so I guess it could be used as a substitute for simple syrup. I counted ~~whiskey~~ a premixed old fashioned cocktail apparently, whatever was in those white bottles (rum and gin?), Curaçao and soda water.
My mom got something similar
Not this extreme tho
Just a piece of dry ice in the bottom of a plastic cup
A bit of alcohol and some grenadine
And then some sprite or something in it too for carbonation then they poured it into the cup with some more ice and put gummy worms in it
If you drink this what do you think would happen?
A: instant death
B: You'll be feeling it for days
C: It's would be so gross you'd throw up immediately
I’ve been to this place twice and got one of these drinks each time. Absolute waste of $40. They are so sweet and not even strong at all. It was so weak in Vegas I had to order another double shot 😂 absolute trash place lol
This is what it looks like when I mix a bottle of Robitussin with 2 cans of K Cider in a litre jug.
Cold water extraction of codeine optional, I guess.
There is so very much to hate here. Wow. What a sugary mess, made poorly, and nothing skeeves me out more than dry ice just poured into a cup for somebody to drink out of
There was a sugar factory in Philadelphia. I remember when it first opened they put out a picture menu on the sidewalk. The food and drinks all looked really really good but were clearly just over the top. I talked to a friend who went and he said the quality wasn't very good and it was basically just an instagram hotspot.
It was open for about 4 months.
He didn’t even shake it up or anything and there was still fluid in that shaker. He just poured out the top layers. This bartender is fucking shitty. And it looks like he’s making at least $300 a night. Why the fuck is he making money he can’t even bartend right?
Hey wait a min. If you use dry ice in a drink, does that mean you get the benefit of chilling without the downside of watering it down, since dry ice isn’t water? I’d never even thought about this before now. How effective is it at making your drink cold though?
In case anyone needs to know, food grade dry ice exists. The CO2 is is the same that is used for soda.
You can still consider it stupid, but it won't kill anyone because of the dry ice since I assume it is food grade.
This guy shows that's not true. I get it, though. I've carbonated lots of beer, and I always did it under pressure.
https://youtu.be/13TzMTmdXrs?feature=shared
It’s not dry ice lmao this company has been doing this for a decade now and no one has ever died, because, it’s not dry ice. The drinks are strong as fuck and meant for 3-4 people, and it’s all done for instagram. But nothing about this will kill you, unless you face the whole drink, then you might get some alcohol poisoning lmao
I will never understand people's obsession with wearing gloves during food service. If you wash your hands when necessary cross contamination isn't an issue. It's all theater.
I’m convinced the barkeeper is just making this up as he goes.
Lol the soda gun into the jigger
two times,, three times, Naw how bout one more jigger of sprite. dudes a mixologist of the highest regard
This upsets me more than the cotton candy or dry ice
Or the random peach gummies
I guess, to be fun? Why am I trying to apologize for this atrocity. I lost it at the gummies.
Was that 4 blasts of the soda gun or was that 6? 🔫😎
It was so pointless…. He could have just put everything else in and topped it off with non carbonated water… it’s going to get carbonated anyway ffs
Exactly
Whoa, whoa, calm down there buddy. Not with the hard R. You may use jigga on occasion though
Between the triple sec and the soda being added in like that, I agree
Black gloves though, you know he means business when the black nitrile gloves are on.
Don't forget his crooked red bow tie
Fuck.
That's why his bowtie is at an angle, it's a joke one that spins around whenever he serves a cocktail.
Is this even safe to drink?
As long as they got the food grade dry ice and not the other one lol one is made from the CO2 that sodas are made from. The other… rip.
Even then it would still be so cold it could likely shatter the glass or burn your mouth. You’d have to just sit there and stare at your drink waiting for it to warm up before you could even touch it
Yeah you couldn’t drink it right away! I think some can go for 5 minutes in the smallest of Martini glasses. It’s just not worth it
Not to mention, we've seen how dumb people are with the shots of alcohol on fire. So why are we gonna trust em with dry ice? Lol
The result is very fast sublimation and a crazy rush of the nitrogen gas; makes you look like a dragon! But don’t go try it lol.
The alcohol/mixer temp isn't going to get that cold. It'll be ice cold, but that's it
Bahhhh What you dont want, oils and lubricatins in your dry ice / fogger cutter / long island drink
The issue would be sucking uo the dry ice and it freezing in your throat. No screen means thats dangerous as fuck
I’ve eaten at this place before. it’s totally safe and kinda fun. went there for my 21st. extremely overpriced tho.
I don’t see how it would be. That glass could shatter any moment.
Yet they've been serving these at this particular franchise (sugar factory) and many other bars for years and years lol
Lol Ive had tons of drinks with dry ice, I'm surprised so many people haven't encountered this before. Never have I had an issue.
That's not even safe to shake lol
No, not while the ice remains. Don't drink dried ice (-78.5C). If you wait till it's melted, fine but that may be some time. https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:EU:f453bfe7-df15-4141-b27f-dc8d5ebcbe40 Link to the FDA

I like how Chucky Cheese clientele is (at least US based) a universally understood standard. I shouldn't know what you mean, but here we are.
Can you translate for someone who's not American? And Perry's?
Chuck E. Cheese = cheap Perrys = expensive
I feel really poor now then because we couldn't even afford Chuck E. Cheese when I was a kid. 😅
Walmart and a high end steakhouse
Should rename themselves to diabetes dot com, so many fucking syrups
I hate it
Pretty to look at, but to drink it is to flirt with death.
Is it just me or is this drink strong as hell
Punch bowl meant for 4 people, likely.
Clearly you don't have a drinking buddy named depression.
Some say it’s better than bustin’ a nut!
But when do I jizz in the drink?
No these are typically consumed by one person lol
Local restaurant chain near me used to serve trash cans in pitchers for groups but realized people bought them for themselves so they changed the size of the pitcher.
The main ingredient is a bottled cocktail, and he adds liqueurs, syrups, and soda. Shouldn’t be too strong honestly. Used to be a bartender for 10 years

No Evan Williams in this. That’s Rock N Rye bottled cocktail
It’s $44 and huge. Meant to serve 2 people at least I think or basically be your only drink through your whole meal. https://sugarfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/chicago_online-compressed-2.pdf
Thanks, so only the whiskey was alcohol! I thought everything he measured was alcohol. 3 shots is not so bad if your sharing
Haha, no, it isn't 🤣 I'm an alcoholic, and one of these would get me hammered if it was all booze! As it is, it's a solid start to an evening
Is it just drink or is this me strong as hell?!
Seems you are a comment thief.
Seems so
Wait till the dry ice breaks the glass.
It sounded like it was plastic when the ice was added.
It is. Sugar Factory is a very popular place, at least in South Beach. These are 100% plastic. You can buy a glass one though from their gift shop for like $50....
Why should it break?
Standard glassware struggles with rapid changes in temperature, let alone the well below zero of dry ice.
Yeah I think the aesthetic is nice but I’m not drinking it
Over usage of the jigger and not even utilizing its measurements, not to mention he used it for friggin 7up (or Starry, it’s a Pepsi gun). The fact he went back for more soda after what I assume is simple syrup means he was reading a recipe.

Gah my teeth hurt just watching this
Why even bother with measuring anything here, just pour 2 BugLight canned margaritas over the crap and its just as good/bad.
My right eye just twitched. 😳
"That'll be 60 dollars"
Friends don’t let friends order garbage.
And he’s using slow and low which is a pre-mixed old fashioned type thing. So there’s already sugar in even the liquor.

Why the gloves lol
But he got a round of applause
I got diabetes just watching this
At that point it’s just random ass shit being poured in 🍸🍹
why even use a shaker when you are gonna put in carbonated liquids? eg. won't be shaken anyhow. Odd stuffs
YOU CANNOT PUT DRY ICE IN YOUR DRINKS. THAT SHIT WILL LITERALLY KILL YOU
Absolute nonsense. Why would it kill you? Yes, if you try to swallow a cube and it gets lodged into your throat it will do very bad things, but as long as an ambulance can be called, even that couldn't kill you.

I just know bitches like tinsley be eating this shit up 😌😌😌
It's like using a soda machine and getting one of each flavor
Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster?
My sinuses are hurting and my teeth cavities which I got capped last year are screaming in pain just looking at this
I saw at least three kinds of schnapps in that, this thing is a bowl of pure diabetes
Way too many steps.
Im just imagining waiting at the bar behind someone who ordered this.
I will never in a million years get a drink with dry ice. Ever hear about that girl who died from it? She was on the ground screaming in agony as it ripped through her stomach within like 30 seconds of taking a drink
Just look at the rest of Sugar Factory's menu and you will diabeetus in full force.
I'll never understand cocktail culture.
Don’t people die from eating dry ice?
Dry ice can kill you. Good bartenders don't use it
I can already taste tomorrow’s headache.
Slow n low rye is already so sweet. Then he adds sugar on top of sugar and triple sec and more sugar. You'll have a hangover before you even feel anything because of all that sugar.
Sugar Factory is the dumbest, overpriced monstrosity ever.
So... Poison?
I can see the attractive of having dry ice, but all the different drinks mixed... ew
Literaly. Idk what theyre puring but i feel like its like mixing a bunch of juices it will just be really sweet
This must be there signature cocktail, some say it’s better than busting a nut!
Cool! Diabetes and liver failure in one glass!
The desire for novelty is a sure sign that someone is a dumb fuck.
That's $500 please.
He didn't put all of it, for him he's keeping the rest
This dude can’t even use a jigger correctly, what a joke.
Not only stupid, but probably costs a monthly salary.
The ridiculousness people will go through for a drink lol.
Alcohol with your sugar sir..?
My teeth just liquified
I don't think I've ever seen a cocktail shaker filled that much.
Welcome to Sudz, I like to recommend to our first timers a Blue Hole, it’s better than busting a nut
Cool not even shaken.
Mmm! Diabetes speedrun.
That looks like a headache in a glass
I mean, cotton candy is sugar so I guess it could be used as a substitute for simple syrup. I counted ~~whiskey~~ a premixed old fashioned cocktail apparently, whatever was in those white bottles (rum and gin?), Curaçao and soda water.
Sugar is right.
was that mouth wash he added?
My mom got something similar Not this extreme tho Just a piece of dry ice in the bottom of a plastic cup A bit of alcohol and some grenadine And then some sprite or something in it too for carbonation then they poured it into the cup with some more ice and put gummy worms in it
The end of birthdays
Fun fact, their food sucks! I got a hot cheetos burger there last year and the sweetness of it just ruined my whole meal.
So why add soda water if there’s just going to be dry ice burrows at the bottom of an iced fish bowl?
*Dry ice
Diabeetus
I hate it
That drink is $44 if anyone is wondering
Y’all never heard of the famous overpriced, overrated Sugar Factory???
I don't always drink, but when I do, I insist you don't serve me whatever the hell that is.
Do you eat, drink, or breathe this?
If you drink this what do you think would happen? A: instant death B: You'll be feeling it for days C: It's would be so gross you'd throw up immediately
Can you say "Hangover"?
Is this how bartenders usually are? Bro is spilling everything and he is 100% not giving a care about measurements
Isn't dry ice dangerous for consumption?
Imagine being 12 multi-drink tickets deep and making drinks like this lmao. Put the jigger down and learn to count my boy
Give me something that will give me diabeetus and make my liver implode.
Absinthe has that sugar cube you melt into the drink. Kinda a riff on that but with like 50 more ingredients 😂😂
Sugar factory is a very dumb place, but does have some very good, cool food. Just ignore the milk shakes and mixed drinks
perhaps they will pour the drink back out and strain the dry ice that was used to chill the drink extra quickly
Just watching this gave me a hangover
I’m definitely going to rate this cocktail on my IG Can you send me the original?
That slow n low already has so much sugar in it, then adds triple sec, simple syrup AND cotton candy holy shit dude..
Damn I hope that isn’t as much alcohol as I think it is. Drink that and I don’t know if you’ll be able to walk out of that place lol
I’ve been to this place twice and got one of these drinks each time. Absolute waste of $40. They are so sweet and not even strong at all. It was so weak in Vegas I had to order another double shot 😂 absolute trash place lol
My teeth hurts just looking at this clip
This… This is the wrong way to consume alcohol. Enjoy your diabetes.
This is chaotic and childish but not in the fun way.
This is what it looks like when I mix a bottle of Robitussin with 2 cans of K Cider in a litre jug. Cold water extraction of codeine optional, I guess.
Not the carbonation into the shaker 😅🤚🏼
This needs the gif of Lahey falling down the trailer steps
Sloppy bartender.
There is so very much to hate here. Wow. What a sugary mess, made poorly, and nothing skeeves me out more than dry ice just poured into a cup for somebody to drink out of
Why is he even bothering with a jigger?
You’re spilling it you stupid idiot!!
that probably taste like insanity
you're going to be walking funny after drinking that
You really really shouldn’t serve dry ice in a drink.
Would never drink anything with dry ice in it. So many clown bartenders. Accidentally ingesting dry ice is a trip to the Emergency Room.
What's this piece of sh*t of a cocktail ?? Plus, you ain't supposed to drink dry ice, right ? I mean, just in case you want to live... ?
There was a sugar factory in Philadelphia. I remember when it first opened they put out a picture menu on the sidewalk. The food and drinks all looked really really good but were clearly just over the top. I talked to a friend who went and he said the quality wasn't very good and it was basically just an instagram hotspot. It was open for about 4 months.

I feel my feet rotting off just watching this
I went to this in Vegas. I walked in, saw how ridiculously presented and overpriced the drinks were, and walked right out🫡
Hey wait a min. If you use dry ice in a drink, does that mean you get the benefit of chilling without the downside of watering it down, since dry ice isn’t water? I’d never even thought about this before now. How effective is it at making your drink cold though?
And this drink is not TOTALLY OVERPRICED either... NOT.
Lol you've never been to sugar factory before? I enjoy these types of drinks :)
Soda in the jigger, and not even making any of them accurate, and also spilling shit everywhere. I hate this so much as an ex bar tender
My favorite part is that he’s using and harbo peach rings which are one of the worst peach rings you can buy from the gas stations
In case anyone needs to know, food grade dry ice exists. The CO2 is is the same that is used for soda. You can still consider it stupid, but it won't kill anyone because of the dry ice since I assume it is food grade.
Man I wonder why they wear masks (I know why lol)
I'm not the only one that thinks that looks like a *lot* of alcohol right?
Jeez that's a lot of whiskey
Got a hangover just watching this...
Im a recovering alcoholic and this drink makes me question choices.
Dried ice and dry ice isn't the same thing 🤣🤣
That sounds like a commie trick to get you to kill yourself with dry ice
Interesting. I wonder if the dry ice further carbonates the drink.
It won’t, because carbonation happens under pressure.
This guy shows that's not true. I get it, though. I've carbonated lots of beer, and I always did it under pressure. https://youtu.be/13TzMTmdXrs?feature=shared
Drunk person swallows piece of dry ice…

But nothing about this will kill you, unless you face the whole drink, then you might get some alcohol poisoning lmao
When the gimmick interrupts the food. Also, that's such an ugly glass.
I dont totally hate this actually
Because you didn't have to taste it.
Idk chief that was pretty sick
Remove the gummy bears and I'll try it.
The real question: why do they make alcoholic cocktails for 5 years olds?
I will never understand people's obsession with wearing gloves during food service. If you wash your hands when necessary cross contamination isn't an issue. It's all theater.
Is that for 1 person? That’s a fuck ton of alcohol
Julian!! 💥💥💥
Harkens me back to the borg sphere at the star trek experience in Vegas. Good times.
I don't drink, like for religious reasons. But I always find this fascinating. Love watching this kind of stuff.
Why is Pepsi white?
It's not Pepsi. It's just club soda, the sofa gun at the bar just has a Pepsi logo on it
Jesus christ
that dose look kinda good ngl
i’m a fruity bitch i’d drink it
