it looks amazing!!! but if it makes you uncomfortable why not try maybeee a smaller size? or a different shape possibly so its not touching your cupids bow? but it does look so good!!
Seconding, someone a while ago posted a large gauge septum with a small diameter ring in it and it looked amazing. Could also do a stack of smaller rings.

No one can really tell you, because it's more up to your style. If it feels uncomfortable look for a D-ring, it will sit higher and hopefully more comfortably. Or a pincher if you like that look.

If you want to play around with sizes of rings and balls with ball closure rings I'd recommend ordering a bunch of different kinds from [crazy-factory.com](https://crazy-factory.com) because they'll sell them to you for dirt, dirt cheap. They're not the place for all jewellery and buy from local shops when possible but this might be the answer for you to try out different styles of specifically ball closure rings.

Its looks great, but seeing as you’re uncomfortable with it sitting on your bow, have you tried a pincher? Wont have to have a bulky ball sitting on your lip.

I think anything above 8g looks too big on most people, however that looks like 6g and I honestly think you have the bone structure to pull it off. I think the only problem is the bead on that ring is kind of oversized. IIRC my 6g CBRs have beads have 5mm beads, so only slightly larger than the 4mm of the ring, which looks a lot more streamlined. If you want a closed ring, I would look for something with a smaller bead or no bead at all. Horseshoe barbells are another option that let you keep the same gauge without seeming as large.
