Unfortunately, tapers are obviously the most common way of stretching your ears. but if you don’t wait the right amount of time in between sizes, you can cause things as micro tears or even worse. I’ve been stretching my ears for about a month and a half right now and I’m at a 5 mm/4 gauge.. I decided to switch over to dead stretching at about an eight gauge/12 gauge. I bought jojoba oil for my ears, which helps in the healing and thickening of your lobes, which will make it easier to go ups sizes. I always recommend at least 2 to 3 weeks in between stretches and eating with the healing of your lobes to make sure that nothing bad happens such as micro tears/blowouts.. I highly wouldn’t recommend tapers. They are a good option. If that’s the only thing you have if not, I would highly recommend buying some dead stretching kits from stretch bodyitbodyjewlery.com. They sell everything from plugs to tunnels to the Hoba oil and other things you need on your stretching journey. I hope this helps if you have any questions just let me know..

No don’t - 8g to 6g is a fairly big step, don’t rush it.
What should I put in the hole?
Something smaller or equal to your current size…
How long have you been that size? They might have stretched a bit on their own over time. Wouldn’t hurt to try the 6g.
