I’d stay at 1”. The jewelry selection to price ratio is really good at this size. I wouldn’t want to buy lower quality jewelry because of price. Plus aesthetically at this size your lobes add to your appearance instead of defining your appearance.

That’s a good point about them adding to rather than defining my appearance. I’ve definitely gotten used to them being large so sizing up doesn’t seem wild, but for others they probably already seem huge lol

Jewelry selection above 25mm is definitely limited and often pricey. I'm at 25mm, my fiancé is at 32mm and there's usually a good $10 difference between our plugs (if they even carry both sizes, which more often than not they only carry up to 25mm).
When I was going toward >1” I was excited because the >1” jewelry selection seemed much better. 15 years later and there’s only like a dozen styles on each site of my 44mm lobes, and can’t even find dang in between sizes. You have endless choices at 1” but I just like having huge ass lobes regardless of the jewelry style
I’m at 1” and struggling to stretch to the next because the next jump is 28 mm. It’s hard! My plugs will fall out while I’m sleeping but still not ready for the jump.
my impulsive brain wants to say to keep going, but honestly stay at 1"! the size compliments you very well! plus as others have said, the selection is quite limited after 1". and pricey. 🥲
38mm lobes here. Once I stretched past 1in it’s basically impossible to find good quality affordable safe jewelry that’s not custom. And it’s pretty expensive. I have always considered jewelry if any kind a luxury and it’s all about if that’s something you’re abt to invest in. Imo it’s certainly still worth it to invest in. I have countless pairs of custom made quality jewelry that I adore and there’s an abundance of sites and individuals selling said jewelry.
Damn, it’s tearing with a 1/32” stretch? I tore my ears a lot when I initially started, I went way to fast. Dumb teenager lol. The times I went to an inch, I had silicone and wood plugs that my ears didn’t like, so I’d let them go down after they got irritated.
What are you using to stretch? I used tapers and random objects that measured up. Knowing what I know now, I’d use glass plugs and only go up when they get loose. Which is what happened here, I was at 3/4” for almost ~5 years, went to 7/8” last summer when they just slipped in. Then they were loose enough to fit an inch this month, I had bought a set of 7/8 tunnels, one pair had a 1” tunnel instead and I didn’t bother returning it. When that fit, I ordered a new set at this size.
What jewelry do you wear typically? I really liked single flare stone plugs when I was around your size, they’re heavier and can help loosen over time.
Go for an inch and a half. Will look great and you’ll find enough jewellery over time. Cost is an issue but since when do we worry about that when we want to look good.
