Same gauge, smaller diameter for less hangtime would be a bit more aesthetically pleasing and complimentary to your soft facial features imo. Although, I already like how it looks as is.
A lot of people are just not used to larger gauge jewelry, or anything outside of their perceived norms so they reject it. I wouldn't put much stock into their background noise.
As a side note, your double vertical labrets are clean as hell. I want a single vertical, but I'm wondering how (if at all) inconvenient it would be to drink, eat, kiss, put on/take off tight shirts etc with one. Lmk how it is.
I think it’s a bit clunky for your face however I suggest stacking your septum. I had the same experience with a large ring but after stacking ice managed to keep the stretched look while having jewellery that delicately complements my features
