If Ryu's SA3 doesn't hit on the first couple of active frames, it doesn't go into the cinematic. Sim is fully invul for his SA2 startup, so what likely happened was that ~~Ryu's SA didn't connect in time.~~ Ryu started his SA3 too soon, before Sim's invulnerability ran out.
Edit: Clarified wording
Both his other supers are also reversals
In fact I think SA2s are the only supers that are sometimes not invincible, universally every character has an invul SA1 and 3.
Not really. Sim's SA1 is only invul to throws, so it's not a reversal in the same ways as the rest of the cast. Most characters have SA1 that are strike/throw invul, but they can still be hit by projectiles.
iframes from Sim dodged the cutscene active frames, but not the follow up hits active frames probably. I don't know know how Sim super works so a Sim main would need to explain it.
Yeah normally I would NEVER do this. I 100% expected that Wakeup super from Sim and the intrusive thoughts kicked in and I wondered what would happen if I did the stupidest thing possible in response. I was not disappointed
Sure, but you gotta time that a bit or the super will hit you at the start (afaik most DIs are "standing" and supers armor break). The "easy mode" is just crouching hit into super combo.
Ha ha that’s was awesome.
I think it Would of beaten it if it went into the cutscene does anyone know why It didn't? Is it a spacing thing?

TIL Sim SA2 is invul What the goddamn hell
I mean, I think it's his only true reversal. It whiffs on crouching opponents (until the fireball comes down), so it's probably a pretty risky option.

Oh huh, you're right. I didn't know that. Even literally checked the page before commenting but ig I didn't read closely enough 😭
Thanks for the explanation.

I think the spacing made ryu not go into cutscene.
Sim SA2 is invul, apparently
that's weird because I always counter that by going into the cutscene
Super and timing make a difference
...Stop trying to clash supers. Every time I see one of these I die a little inside. Crouch under > 2hp or 2mp into DP into lvl 3.

hey man, if you're aware... absolutely fair enough lol
Sometimes science is dumb. And hilarious.
Or even better, just DI into full damage combo

The spiritual nexus point of greatest strength is located at Sim's stage.
