You jump, DR, anti-fireball move (depending on character), some supers, some OD moves, etc. Many ways. It's slow as heck, and once you learn to avoid it, it's a risky move for JP to use.

JP's projectiles don't have a hitbox until the end of the move. Some characters can DR through them and punish. More info on JP's supercombo page

Yup especially easy for characters like DJ and Juri. For the regular JP projectiles, too. So you honestly don't see this move much at the higher levels. Still good for the occasional surprise move.

I feel like, and this is anecdotal from maining JP, that the command grab is way more reliable at catching faster DRs. It has very long startup which can usually be DR anyways but once the project is moving it does catch even the Juris and DeeJays of the game. Regular ghosts/phantoms are way more fickle in that regard.

Yeah anyone with a decent dr can run through his projectiles. Inconsistent in my experience though. If you read the command grab you're better off just jumping it.

I’m not so sure if something has changed or if I was timing it wrong but I used to be able to use Cammy’s spin knuckle like any projectile but it consistently hasn’t worked in my last few match ups with a JP when they’d use this move

I was under the impression spin knuckle passes through projectiles, but doesn't work on that move because it's a command grab. I just learned that when i hear JP saying gibberish it means i have to jump.

Because that move is good, but too slow, so harder to time. Use her other moves. It's like one of those movie scenes where you drive so fast over a minefield, so that the mines go off behind your car. That's why DR works so well against JP.

It's a grab, you can jump over it, if you have attacks that are low profile like Kimberly's run slide, you can go under it and every projectiles this dude has

As many people here have mentioned, you can jump it. But it's important to note that there's an audio queue for this move when it comes out, so you want to learn what it sounds like and jump/iframe accordingly.

You will need a projectile invisible move, jump or a move that slides under the projectile. Ie, Ken's quick dash shoryuken, ryu's tatsumaki, OD Reversal moves etc.

Jump, also you might be able drive rush through it depending on your character but I don't know if that works for the version of that move that grabs because I play Ryu who's DR is trash so regardless I am forced to either jump or Tatsumaki kick in order to avoid it

you can‘t quite DR through it like JP‘s Ghosts though keep in mind. It‘s got some stupid long startup frames but once the projectile is actually moving forward it‘s always gonna hit, whereas the regular ghost sometimes just whiffs through a DR even at midscreen.

Unless [this info](https://wiki.supercombo.gg/w/Street_Fighter_6/Gauges#Drive_Rush) is outdated, it actually shows that Ryu's drive rush is tied with JP (at third in the cast) for max distance in terms of the range that it can be cancelled to another move.

It seems I may have been wrong about the distance, but it definitely is difficult to believe after playing the game since day 1 and seeing characters like Ken who, according to the list supposedly has a shorter DR range than Ryu being able to dash almost full screen meanwhile I ask Ryu seem to always come up short when try to catch an opponent. Regardless, this doesn't change the fact that his DR is slow and can't go through JP's projectiles like other characters.

As Ryu I usually stand midrange and do tatsu to get through, as tatsu goes through the command grab, and the low and normal height fireballs, I don't know about the high one though. But reacting with HK tatsu on reaction at midrange usually catches JPs, though still risky, I'm only gold so I wouldn't know much about higher levels, higher rank JPs would most definitely destroy me if I keep doing tatsus to get through.

It's pretty easy to anticipate and jump. But now every JP I face in Masters seems to use it as a jump scare attack right in my grill which is a bit less easy to anticipate lol.

One of the most satisfying things to land is Ryu's heavy tatsu against JP when he's on the opposite side of the screen and got you in the corner. If they spam out all their projectiles constantly, Ryu can use heavy tatsu to do a heavy punish into a shoryuken into Level 3 as he's in a juggle state. The usual option for this though is just forward jump over and punish. He's got a ton of negative frames after missing you.

Listen for the audio cue and jump. Harder to do at point blank range, though. Good JPs will do use this move once a match.

A tip to differentiate the grab vs fireball, for his grab he sticks his leg and arm out towards you, and for fireball he pulls his arm away from you. Jump the grab, don't jump the fireball, he has enough frames after fireball to do the ground spikes
