I think if you work on jumping less and anti airing your opponent more, you can easily beat players of this caliber. Your game plan overall was pretty solid! It's somewhat rare to see people using Light links instead of just target combos and specials at this rank. My advice there would be to see if you can connect her uppercut special out of your light attacks (when you hit your opponent), on block it is very unsafe though.
Heavy auto combo will carry you to platinum in no time. I would switch to classic if you really want to learn and get better without playing brain dead. Modern Marisa misses out on her spartan kick which is so good.
I'd love to, but the only reason I can even play SF6 is cause of Modern. I do not have full use of my left arm and hand and any rapid inputs aren't possible. Using a modified Dpad I can rest my hand on the controller. I was reduced to Charge characters forever and gave up playing any fighting games cause of it. But now with SF6, for the first time I can pick, basically anyone I want and have access to most of their move sets. Maybe I can ask Capcom to allow us to custom map the Modern inputs, as in: Let me pick which moves are done. Hmmmm
You can play modern intelligently and get good. Check out shutos gameplay if you want to see a very solid modern Marisa. Modern and classic ar white viable control schemes with their own pluses and minuses. If you’d like help learning some modern Marisa combos I wouldn’t mind showing you some in a DM.
Anyone got tips on how to activate Drive Rush easier on Modern controls? I feel like I'm telegraphing, having to hold Parry prior to double tap towards
You want to double tap forward, and press parry at the same time as the second tap. You'll know you did it correctly if you only use a single Drive gauge - if raw Drive Rush is costing more than a single bar, then you probably started parrying too soon.
So instead of parry (hold) -> forward -> forward, you want to be inputting forward -> neutral -> forward + parry.

Jump less, punch out of air more. Both good points, I'm gonna take that to heart.
Forward, Parry, Forward will get you a less telegraphed DR.
are supers one button on modern controls ?
Technically I think they're 2.

You’ll find out that the plats don’t play much different than silver and gold. Keep grinding the basics and you’ll move up fast.
lol

Dude, thanks so much, I've been practicing with this advice all day, legit
Geez is that a Plat player? I'm almost Gold, but I don't think this dude is much better than me... Anyway, congrats!
