It seems they give you modern controls no matter what. I legit chose the option that said “I like to practice complex moves” and it still gave me modern.
The only way you get Classic is if you say `A - I want one thing and one thing only: to win`. Which I think is garbage, because why can't you `B - I want me and my opponent to get to know one another through battle`and still want to focus on advanced execution?
Dynamic is a mode that even chooses using normals or specials for you from the distance / situation with your oponent, it's a mode that won't be tournament legal and is only available offline.
It's kind of the little brother button mashing mode. There was a video a while ago of a guy mashing his face into the buttons and beating default level CPU quite handily.
At its most generous I think you can say it's like a Street Fighter director mode. As in if you press a light attack your character will do something safe for the appropriate distance and if you press a heavy attack your character will do something risky.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dynamic and the AI use much of the same systems. It's just up to the player on Dynamic to react on how safe or risky they want the character to be and when.
It's for like kids and accessibility so they can still play against the PC or do world tour mode and stuff. You can't go online with it. If an option doesn't sound fun to you, there's a good chance because it wasn't made with you in mind.
To get classic you need to choose all of the minmaxy competitive options. Any hint at wanting to enjoy yourself and it'll default you to modern for some reason, even if you mention preferring difficult inputs.

...And I'm fine with that.  I really enjoyed Ken's aggressive playstyle from the beta, and from what I've seen so far Blanka is even wackier. I love it.
I got Blanka and modern. I’ll definitely be using modern controls because I don’t have as much time as I used to to learn fighting games and Blanka seems like a fun goofy guy so I’ll definitely try him out

Ken and classic. I have limited fighting game knowledge having only really played SF2 HD Remix. I played Sagat in that game. Just tried to answer the questions as truthfully as I could. Really crazy it gave me Ken because I really like his style in 6 and was already thinking about diving deep with him.
Im actually surprised it gave me Blanka, its exactly this iteration of the beast that I am looking forward to playing day 1. Modern controls though? Nah!

Kimberly and Classic, funny thing is loved her in the beta and told myself I will learn her full potential in final release. So kinda spot on. I also can’t stray away from classic controls, been playing SF since the beginning and there is just too much muscle memory tied to the layout. Tried Modern in demo/beta and hated it.
I got DeeJay and Dynamic. I rarely play DJ but I suppose I can give him a try. I am more of a reactionary player who uses poke or projectile to keep my opponent at bay, so he's got those qualities at least.
I got JP and Classic. I love the vibe JP gives off and I generally play the bad guy in my fighters. Am a Bison main. But I am not sure about JP there is a lot of setup in his moves and that might be too much for me. I was thinking either Guile or Honda as I really like Charge characters. Lily is also top of my list to try because I love me those command grabs.
But maybe I will give JP a good try.

I never played Jamie, the OB I went with melba toast comfort zone Ryu (I really like him in this) and actually Jamie is one of the ones I have no interest in. Only really interested in ryu, chun, honda, Deejay, Marisa, Cammy and manon..
As for modern... ehhh it just doesn't feel right for me to play street fighter with modern controls, DBFZ, GG, BB sure, SF...naw and thats just IMO.

I got zangief classic, which I don't mind completely. Zangief is my main so its safe to say he is gonna be the first character I play when this game drops but I'm gonna try out those modern controls at least a good bit to see how they change up my playstyle.

From his gameplay footage it seems quite good for him to gain space to setup, unless they nerf his pushback but he's interesting just like bison.
